I was looking thru the responses, and wanted to share my own headaches and “hope this helps you out.” The great thing about the PS3 is that you can
use just about any mic as long as you get a 3 prong mic cord to USB adaptor (like $5 ebay), the sound on just a $25 mic is insane. Cannot be beat and I highly recommend checking it out (hell order amazon and try them all out). That also being said, when adding songs you are going to want to add them in groups of 10, it sucks, it sucks. it sucks! But, if there is a problem with the song the ps3 will crash. I’ve done with adding like groups of 200 songs when starting out, and had to waste multiple afternoons tracking down a song(s) that are the problem. It is a classic – little time now, saves huge time later. Hope that helps you on your journey, and have a great time playing songs and inviting friends over, and having a blast. And if you create add the right Genre so road challenges are super fun for groups. Disco is not novelty.

Vocals here: if you got a PS3 then buying a real mic (like the sure 58’s – $25), was a godsend when you get a 3 plug adaptor to USB, the Ps3 eats that stuff up, and burps fantasticness. Get a mic screen also. However, if you have a Xbox, then you are kinda screwed. the logictec ones suck for response, and the RB4 ones are better, but still have responses that are all over. Xbox does not like to play nice with just about everything. it sucks cause the xbox is like 100 times easier to putting songs together and will not crash if there is a problem, (unlike the ps3). Happy hunting, lady gaga, and Amie Winehouse are great for vocals.

Just so you are not alone, played this on PS3 and Xbox, and no matter what was done your scores will keep for only, like, 100 songs. It sucks, but that is just the way of it and, I wish it was different, and it would remember all the songs, so you could play ones that you haven’t done, but whomever coded this game and the way they decided that there should be a 3000 song limit, and all the other stuff was incredibly short-sighted. I hear ya.

So from your post, if I’m reading this right, use quick DTA editor and then change to genre manually with text and then save? That brings up another thought, do we have like…. agreed genres so songs aren’t all over the place? I mean I found disco bee gee songs in “other,” (it just wreaks road challenges), and personally, the novelty genre should be just abolished in my opinion. Should we take a vote for better filing? Thanks for the input BTW, man I Wish that would be just a drag and drop with a pulldown menu form controls or something.

whenever I change anything up with songs I delete the cache on the xbox before I play (that helps), I would also get in the habit of making a copy after each playing before you shut it down to your drive as a backup, and always load form the xbox. I have forgotten what I was doing (while with friends and very drunk) only to doink that up pretty hard by loading from a drive like 4months before and had over actual singer woman who warp evolved me from newb to like 8mil fans, 5 treks solid gold in one night.

love the new site, but only 1 thing (and don’t know if that is the right place – tell me if not and I will do it), can we have it where in the search field for looking for songs, you can just type into it again, and it will start a new search? As it stands, you have to X out of the previous search, wait for a reload and then try the next search. kinda feel like that would cut down on some serious searching time. But, otherwise, thank you for making this great site, and for the joy it brings.

^^^^^^^ This. it was a nightmare with the PS3 of having 1 song be bad, and then having to hunt that sucker down, but ever since doing it with Xbox360. Super easy. sure you lose out of using better mics, but the headache is gone, just baby the disc, and tighten the laser after like 7 years so you don’t have to replace the entire thing. Soooo, much easier.

Hey, thank you for your music service. Seriously. I’m ex-military, and I hated it when people said that cause I was always like, “F you, buy me a beer. Don’t get paid enough for all the crap that comes with this job, that I’m trying to just pay for college without debt. (on that note the cost guard guys are the smartest. same pay. no tyrant activity)” So, in light of that, PM me some way to say thanks, sorry to see you go, but thank you, thank you for this gift, and working on something that brings my silly ass soo much joy. Jamming out to songs, as a pregame with the partner, inviting some friends, and then playing a little trivia is awesome, and hella fun. Love that finally I have a song-sing system that is the real songs and not a Casio keyboard version of some truly great music. AND WE GET TO PICK THE SONGS…well, pretty much. Now if only they did that with Dance Central.

Sorry haven’t been on some time, and also got distracted by trying to find this fucking ‘token’ that does not exist on my profile mage, to say a thank you to the dude who put put up Budgie’s breadfan!!! (Rick Flair voice) “Whooooo!” that song rocks, was awesome to hear form the game “Brutal Legand.”
