If you play for score, the Mustang is probably much better than the Squier, but as MIDI controllers, both are not great.

If you play only for fun and you want to sound good, I suggest any real guitar and Rocksmith, RB3’s Pro Guitar mode is for masochists more than anything, it’s not great to learn to play, it’s only great if you like the challenge of the RB3 engine.

Yes, you could use 4 of them at the same time. One drum, one keyboard and 2 guitars.

But I just said I can’t find those folders in the download files.

That is why I said you can get those folders from any songs. The folders you’re talking about were an example song.

Those two folders with numbers in their names are the 2 folders that makes a song, these folders are what’s gonna be packed. You can use any songs in the database for that (if they don’t have a Wii version you will have to convert from Xbox using C3 CON Tools).

Sadly all the old info about Rock Band hardware died with the rockbanddocsmods website and the official Rock Band leaderboards. Some of it is still in the ScoreHero forums, so maybe you are lucky enough to find information related to the keyboard.

I’ve gone back and tried con tools 4.0.0 and it’s still failing every midi encryption

I would suggest trying with a brand new windows install (i.e. a VM) because this is not normal.

in reply to: [How-To] Playing Customs on PS3 #514985

Try with a brand new copy of C3 CON Tools, this should not happen.

in reply to: [How-To] Playing Customs on PS3 #514980

Did you try with Type 3 as I recommended?

in reply to: [How-To] Playing Customs on PS3 #514968

You can change the encryption type when you convert to PS3 from Xbox CON files with C3 CON Tools, one of the options in the drop down menus at the top of the window.

That error happens usually when the game can’t read the midi file, I think Type 3 uses some sort of general key so you might want to try that instead of Type 2. Also as far as I understand HEN must be enabled to use the custom songs.

in reply to: [How-To] Playing Customs on PS3 #514963

I don’t know how HEN works, since I use an actual jailbroken console, but normally you have to either download the RB2 Free Pack 01 or install its RAP file. I don’t know if HEN actually need the RAP file, but one thing for sure, using HEN won’t change where the DLCs are stored.

Also that is the path where the songs needs to go `/dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30463/USRDIR` while your path is `/dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30463/PS3_GAME/USRDIR`. Your path is still wrong.

I don’t understand why that folder wouldn’t be there to be honest, that is also where the update for 1.05 is stored. Are you sure you are using the NTSC version of the game?

in reply to: [How-To] Playing Customs on PS3 #514961

The folder you are using is used for game ISOs, that is not where the PS3 reads DLCs.

`game` folder is where the PS3 reads DLCs but you used the `GAMES` folder which is used for game ISOs by various homebrew softwares.

in reply to: [How-To] Playing Customs on PS3 #514951

    From the OP `/dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30463/USRDIR`

You are not using the right folder.

u8it comes with the custom songs packer.

As far as I know there is no way to rebuild the RB3 ark files so I’m gonna say no. However, maybe you could spoof the dta files somehow similarly to what RBHP are doing for pro keys, pro drums and harmonies upgrades, I’m not sure.

in reply to: [How-To] Playing Customs on PS3 #514706

You didn’t need to do that, all the files for PAL are now included with C3 CON Tools, the OP just wasn’t updated and the dude that made the post is long gone.
