Hi @Ruggy are you still active on this project? I am looking forward to learning how to chart Pro Guitar/Bass but there is no documentation on the RBN wiki… is there any documentation available at all?

Hey Shroud, it’s getting hard to find freetime to work further on the project, so it’s a little abandoned atm.

As for the pro g/b docs, there’s my guide that you can download CLICKING HERE

Since I did this guide a while ago, if you have any problem dealing with it, there’s this online guide with .mid examples and gifs! I’m still writing it, so there are a few things you can find on the .pdf guide, but not on the online guide. CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE ONLINE GUIDE

Thank you for your work, Ruggy. Can anyone explain how I can extract the midi and dta files from these files so I can convert the upgrades to use on PS3?

Sorry for the delay, I guess is the same way of placing RBHP content on PS3. I guess you can create a “songs_upgrades” folder on the same folder as you place customs, aside with the “songs” folder, and drop the upgrades.dta and the midi file converted to .edat (you can do this with C3 CON Tools).

Good night my fellow charters and players!

On this first contribution for Chart-a-thon I have some songs for you!

            DREAM AVENUE – “THE RADIANT”
            [DOWNLOAD NOW]

The first song is a song of my own chiptune project, Dream Avenue, originally released in 2014 for my debut album, Moonstone. I had the time to work on a special remix for Chart-a-thon and I personally loved the final mix. And the best part of charting a song of my own? MULTITRACKS AND PRO GUITAR/BASS INCLUDED! I think the most challenging parts of this song are keys and drums, but nothing that a good practice can’t help on this one!

If you liked this song, you can download it for free on my official Bandcamp.

MITSKI – “WHY DIDN’T YOU STOP ME?”

            [DOWNLOAD NOW]

Next song is the second track from Mitski’s acclaimed album “Be the Cowboy”, released in 2018. I love this song so much! This is a easy song in general, just watch out for the key signature change from E to F after the first chorus (especially singers and key players). PRO Guitar/Bass is also included on this one.

HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS – “THE SPACE IN BETWEEN”

            [DOWNLOAD NOW]

My final contribution on this day is the first lead single of Trent Reznor’s side project How to Destroy Angels, alongside with his wife Mariqueen Maandig, long-time friend Articus Ross (now an official member on Nine Inch Nails as well) and art director Rob Sheridan. This song is the first track from HTDA’s debut self-titled EP. This is a very slow song (76 BPM) and you should have no problem dealing with it, the most troubling part of this song is the guitar, but only on the outro chorus, that has constant 1/32 notes strumming, but, of course, with practice you can FC it in a few tries. Full multitrack included.

If you like the content, please consider making a donation at chartathon.com for a good cause. All proceeds go directly to the American Cancer Society!

And that’s it for me at the moment.
Next up is Kloporte bringing another single for us!

Any updates yet on new Pro Guitar/Bass yet?

Sorry, man. I can do anything atm because I don’t have any PC to work on new upgrades. “Nine in the afternoon” and “That’s what you get” (from the GreenPanda’s pack) are already done but I can’t access my HD to get the upgrade files.

What about .bik files? Does .bik files work on PS3 if we change the audio file?

Also, I really want to apologize for another release delay, I’ve been very ill these days and with a PC that is not helping me.

Thanks so much for continuing to support Pro Charts and Players. I’m trying to understand how Rock Band’s file structure and other stuff work and soon I’ll try charting songs. So to be sure: I add your pro upgrade midi tracks to the the RBHP midi tracks using reaper and then put your Pro Upgade metadata on the RBHP upgrades.dta? This means you are only charting PRO upgrades for songs that have RBHP upgrades right? I’m just trying to fully understand how this works before I add them to my game. Thanks again.

Almost there. On the RBHP, you have two .dta files (“songs.dta”, and “upgrades.dta”).

                      – The songs.dta file contains all info about the song (song title, artist, mixing info, diffs, etc.). ALL songs (Customs, on-disc songs, DLCs) have this file to be read in-game.

                      – The upgrades.dta file contains PRO G/B metadata (diffs and tunings) and points the midi file with the additional MIDI tracks.

All RBHP songs need to have both .dta files.

                      And why?

The game won’t read any additional info than PRO G/B diffs and tunings if you place them on upgrades.dta. So if you place the Keys/PRO keys diffs or the info that the songs has harmonies on the upgrades.dta the game will ignore and you will hit the wall that is the NO PART on said instruments.

That’s why we need the songs.dta on the pack.

If we place the Keys/PRO Keys/Harmonies info on the songs.dta the game will read it properly.

My post-RB3 upgrades only have the upgrades.dta file because they already have Keys/PRO Keys/Harms and all technical info used for PRO G/B (Like the vocal tonic note/song tonality, that changes the default shown accidental chords symbols in-game).

Awesome, I will send a link in pm.

Before I updated the chart, the song was completely out of tune. It’s possible he made the chart with a non standard tuning but I have charted it to E standard.

I can revise and release it here, right now I’m kinda slow because I’ve been very ill lately, and I didn’t have the time to release anything new by now, but you can send me if you want.

I don’t actually play Rock Band, but I like to make customs for it and to help searching through every little thing of it. Also, I actually discovered my music intellect trying to do customs way back on the RBN1 era, so I own my life for Rock Band, for real.
