Rock Band Harmonies Project – Megapack Release

(To download Rock Band Harmonies Project upgrades, check out the project’s home on Google Docs.)
Our goal at C3 is to provide quality custom songs, but that’s not the only custom content you can enjoy in RB3. One of our authors, espher, is the long-standing administrator of our sister project: the Rock Band Harmonies Project (RBHP). RBHP authors create upgrade files for official Rock Band DLC, enabling multi-part vocal harmonies, Pro Drums, and even Keys/Pro Keys in songs that don’t have those parts. The upgraded songs are playable online, and work on Title Update #5! Today, RBHP celebrates a huge content release; a “megapack”, if you will! (Or even if you won’t.) And it’s not just harmonies, either. Check out this big list of new content, with authors listed in parentheses:

Rush – “Xanadu” (farottone)

The first Friday C3 release demanded something epic, and something epic you got with the mind blowing RBHP megapack release by espher. So, as a single we needed something epic, and epic it is. Xanadu is the 11+ minutes long suite by Canada’s power trio Rush. And this is a very special version…

Long ago, when vinyl ruled the music world, audio real estate was at a price. And sometimes to make a song fit on an LP record, audio engineers had to speed it up a bit. And speeding up means changing the pitch slightly, so much so that if you ever tried to play Xanadu on bass or guitar or even sing it you have probably realised that you needed to adjust tuning.
Here however we have Xanadu as was intended, no speeding up, no half step adjustments, a real treat for Rush fans. So, do enjoy all instruments, including pro keys, in their original glory!

Taylor Swift – “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” (GHtoRB3)

Epic songs are a critical part of a Rock Band library, but what about party hits? Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is the lead single from the famed country star’s 2012 album Red, which hit #1 on the Billboard 200 and has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. With this release, you too can experience the pain of having, like, a million different cheating boyfriends.

  1. SO glad to see this project take off. Thanks to all of you for feeding my drumming addiction!
Indeed the release of Xanadu is epic but I can’t seem to find the download link 🙁
Announcement is here but the database hasn’t been updated?

    1. Sorry about that! The songs weren’t marked as live for a little while after the blog post rolled out. They’ve been added to the DB since, and the images in the post are download links now as well.

  2. Is there any guide for how the RBHP songs work? Do they work the same as the customscreators songs? Also I am a PS3 owner looking at getting a 360 now just to feed my rock band addiction. Can you still get RB1, 2, Lego and GD RB and still export?
    Thanks!

    1. The referenced Google Doc has a link to a downloadable installation guide (with crappy pictures) that should hopefully be a good starting point. You can always contact me at the project e-mail if you have any other questions.

  3. I figured this was going to follow the trend of announce on Friday, and release on Tuesday… but no complaints obviously. Cool to see some harmony upgrades and fixes.

    1. We had considered that initially, but we figured there was no sense making people wait. Might as well get them the songs for the weekend, you know?
But hey, if you guys reaaaaally want us to sit on them for another five days, I’m sure we wouldn’t mind the extra time. 😉

  4. Hi i sent Customs Creators Collective (on Youtube) a PM, i will also post this here, I Found a Muse Custom (Map Of The Problematique) That’s FB (+Keys and ProKeys) but Expert only if i Send you it can you have some people work on the other diffculities? also there is a Queensryche – Bridge Custom That’s the Same (except no Keys).

    1. Hey Darksphere,
If the original author is interested in polishing up the chart and/or would like us to consider it, we would take a look at it, but we honestly aren’t interested in picking up every partially-completed chart out there and doing finishing work on it (we’ve got our own releases, after all). In some cases we may seek out an author if a chart is particularly interesting to us, but that’s more the exception than the rule.
If the author is interested, see if they’d want to finish it up to release through the project or if they’d like us to look at doing reductions and releasing it and have them contact us via e-mail, PM, or on the forums.

  5. What about The Who songs that have just drums, like Heaven and Hell, or The Real Me, anyone ever think about finishing those out on other instruments?

    1. Hi OxandRoll,
As I mentioned to Darksphere above, we’re not actively seeking out partially completed charts to finish up, especially without the original author’s consent. You can contact the author and see if they would be interested in polishing up their chart and releasing it through us, or if they’d like to approach us to finish it off, but we simply can’t take more or less random submissions like this owing to the volume.
We also have a preference for mostly-complete charts that maybe just need a polishing pass or a couple of fixes versus mostly-incomplete ones, as we already have a tangible amount of work on our respective plates going forward. 🙂

  6. I don’t know if it’s been noted or fixed since it’s been released, but there’s a pro drums charting error on Xanadu. After the disco beat sections, there’s a re-occurring fill that’s clearly played on toms (in this case charted to yellow), but is charted to the hi-hat. I think it happens twice.
