I like it. It’s a bit rough overall compared to GH2, but it’s still an enjoyable experience, and the setlist is still one of the best a rock game has ever had.

It’s a bit hard to believe that game’s turning 15 this year.

Thanks, I think I’d forgotten how to do that.

I’ve been trying to replace the Metallica cover arts for the ones in the game because the ones provided by C3 have very high contrast.

in reply to: Where can I find RB Track Pack download codes? #511709

From what I understood at Harmonix’s FAQ (link here), the Track Pack codes are still redeemable unlike the base games (thankfully I had all of them exported before, even if I didn’t use everything from Green Day or Blitz).

I thought I couldn’t say this before, but I asked because I actually got the AC/DC and Metal Packs through this method, and I wondered if the codes were still being offered by themselves.

I knew those were covers from the moment I accessed the Guitar Hero site for the first time, because I ran to find anything about it after I read a review on EGM and they said it there. That, and I would look up the song list and listen to the originals before getting into the games, so I could tell when I was playing.

But I never really hated that (the only thing I really found annoying was the “I’m flying” bit at the beginning of Who Was in My Room…, although in the original I didn’t like it either; but hey, it’s the Butthole Surfers, what can you do?); what mattered to me was having fun with those songs (I would showboat a lot xP), and in fact, lately I’ve felt it was more organic to play the covers than the masters, even if the covers weren’t as good, after all you’re playing as the fictional guitarist of a fictional basement-to-concert hall band, not as the people who recorded the song in the first place.

They delete after 3 months, I can reupload it if you want

    Oh. OK then.

    I’ll look it up.

I see. That would make sense since those edits I did that worked were before I installed the songs.

Thanks, and sorry for my stupidity.

Did you buy tracks or export previous discs with another account, perhaps?

Yeah, I did have another account, and after much fighting against my memory to even remember the e-mail to it, not to mention the password, I could confirm that that is indeed the case. Apparently I didn’t care about a “primary download account” or something of the sort (or maybe it’s because it’s a US account, which allowed me to dodge content restrictions from my local Live), so it seems that I alternated between downloading to one or the other, depending on which one I was playing with.

I also managed to get my RB2 export pack from it. Still couldn’t find the track pack codes, though.

Right now I get the feeling that I should’ve predicted that what happened would happen.

EDIT: Good news. I managed to find my track packs in this other account’s Download History – as well as some of the XBLA games I used to have – and some stuff I had and the Music Store doesn’t carry anymore, like the Red Hot Chili Peppers songs I had downloaded before. I even found the RB1 Export Key. So, things are looking up – soon I’ll have my full library back.

Oh, I see. I really should’ve come before they put out RB4, damn.
And well, I was able to rescue the Lego RB imports because they were still in my history, but I’m having no such luck with the others. RB1 says I need to buy the export license again, and when I try it, I get a pop-up from Xbox saying “item is no longer available”. As for RB2 and Green Day, it says that I need to pay for them again, too. And the track packs don’t appear in my Previously Redeemed Codes list in RB3.
Plus, only a handful of the songs I bought before appear as already purchased in the Music Store (which is a little over 70 out of the 200+ I used to own).

in reply to: RB3 Xbox 360 100% Save File #497569

Oh, I endorse this. I’m a long way from getting the full set (maybe I’ll never have it), but I’ve been eyeing that lumberjack shirt (The Outdoorsman) since I first saw it. But it requires drums IIRC.

Also, I don’t think PS3 saves can be reliably converted to Xbox 360. I think file structures are different enough that, at the very least, something would get lost in the process.

Same, I’d love to play keys on guitar

Haven’t you completed the Keys on Guitar goal? That one’s simple enough.
