I just got my copy of Rock Band 3 today, but none of the custom songs are turning up in the game.
I followed the instructions and did everything – apart from “Locate “Rock Band 3 Title Update #5″ and delete it” because i can’t find it. All i have in system -> storage -> Rock Band 3 is the game itself, autosaved game, audio/video settings and song cache. No title update #5. I haven’t connected my Xbox to the internet, so maybe it hasn’t been downloaded?
Anyway, i did everything else and have plugged in the USB-stick with all the custom songs.
First i tried to install RB3 on the internal hard drive and then i tried installing RB3 on the USB-stick, but all that shows up in the game are the regular songs, none of the custom ones.
And i have Title Update 4 on the USB-stick.
And the EA-logo and MTV-logo are on the disc.
Have i missed something? Do i need to import the songs from the USB-stick to the hard drive where the game is installed or something like that, or should it work just by having it inserted in the console?
Hmm, I’m not really sure what the issue could be. The only question that comes to mind is have you updated your 360 at all somewhat recently?If your 360 hasn’t been updated in a long time then it won’t be able to read content off of your flash drive. Up until sometime last year the 360 only allowed you to use flash drives that were formatted a certain way via the 360 itself but now it is able to read FAT32 formatted drives.Just saw the thread you posted and seems you already got it working.
Also how are you putting the songs on USB? U do realise u can’t just place them on root! U need to use c3 tools and inject them

Help! I’ve done everything exactly as the tutorial has stated. However, when I transfer the con files onto the USB Drive, they show up on the computer. Then, when I put the USB into my xbox, the song cache shows up, but none of the customs do. Anyone know why this might be, and anyone have a solution? Thanks

That is not likely if you’re using RBtoUSB like the tutorial recommends…

Don’t waste my time or yours with lies. You said you did what the tutorial said. The tutorial says to use C3 CON Tools, and has instructions on how to use it. You lied. I don’t find myself inclined to want to help you.

It probably took the same amount of time writing that post as it would if you just told me the solution in the first place.
Because I have spent thousands of hours creating tools to help the users, countless hours providing help on these forums to the users, and hundreds of hours moderating this forum…and you couldn’t be bothered to spend an hour trying to do this on your own. That’s why.
You said you tried everything. You did not say “everything but X” and more importantly, how can you skip the part specifically about adding songs to your flash drive, experience a problem doing so, and not realize it’s because you skipped the goddamn step in the tutorial? The explanation you’re seeking is in the tutorial that you did everything exactly as it states.
You’re on your own.
Ok so correct me if I’m wrong, but what I seem to have gathered from reading this is that official dlc won’t work unless you have tu5? What about converting the live files to con files? Or using c3tools to dePACK official dlc track packs and then extract them and save them to the hdd that way? Would either of those things allow you to play the official dlc on tu4?
You know your problem is from having a banned account. So what this tutorial covers doesn’t really address your situation, and you should know that already. I would also be careful as to where you lead with your questions…as customs are OK. Messing around with DLC is not.
Well I actually did some research last night nemo and my account isn’t banned… Not console or gamertag banned… I just have a live block on as to not get banned. Had to confirm that with the guy who rghd it… Problem is I only got like half the dlc that I actually purchased redownloaded and I don’t have an extra retail system lying around…
And I am sorry if I’m walking a fine line with what I was saying about the official dlc, I can guarantee that I bought all the dlc that I’m inquiring about… I’m just bummed because it’s not showing up in game, or if it does show up, it freezes or skips the song… Just looking for advice.
Had I known originally that I didn’t need an rgh or jtag to do customs… I probably wouldn’t have done it… Though my main reason was to be able to play games from her without disc
Good news that you weren’t banned. That means you have options.
It’s also good that you’re still in contact with the guy who modded your XBox 360, as I believe he will be your best source of information. There may be a way to, say, put your hard drive on an unmodded 360, redownload your licenses there, and then have your DLC good to go on your modded console. That is complete speculation on my part and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to hear it doesn’t work that way. But those who offer modding services have no doubt been asked questions like this before, and hopefully he would at least know where to direct you to find the answer if he doesn’t know himself.
Also, in the future you may want to ask your questions in your own thread, instead of attaching to multiple other threads. It would make the topic and your progress easier to follow.
