Still alive and telecommuting like mad but I’m starting to realize that I don’t like my job nearly as much this way

ASIO4ALL is really only usefull if your goal is to reduce latency (i.e. playing an instrument), so I’d suggest just using your normal driver unless what you are doing requires low latency.

if you’re doing dryvox, it can be quite important.

I’d be happy to send dryvox files for any author that needs it.

Stay in REAPER. Listen to a section (maybe a couple vocal phrases) twice, then switch to record and sing along. If you didn’t get it right, do over. I normalize each section out of superstition, then render the whole track to a mono dryvox wav.

Interesting… In every custom I’ve had at least one glitch in the lip movements. Maybe it’s the way the voice is recorded? What’s your way of doing it, please?

                      I sing into the microphone.

That’s why I suspect whoever wrote it has a similar voice – no magic has ever been required. I have a relatively typical baritone range, with a bit of a scratchy undertone.

These days I use a Shure SM48 into a Behringer mixer, which feeds into a Behringer UCA202 USB audio interface, and REAPER is configured to use it via ASIO4ALL. I usually normalize each section of the dryvox (ctrl+shift+N in REAPER), just to make sure the levels are consistent.

There will always be some parts where lipsync doesn’t work correctly.

I’m not so sure about that – I think whoever wrote the lipsync tool must have had a voice similar to mine. I’ve never noticed a problem, even on songs with long sustains like the oohs at the end of “Mr. Blue Sky”.

@Atruejedi: send me a PM if you want a little snippet of dry vox to splice in there

I’m looking for lots more songs with good Pro Keys parts. I have been disappointed with a few of the songs I bought that had minimal Pro Keys parts.

3191 songs in the database with pro keys. I’d guess half of those are pretty minimal, leaving you with a mere 1500.

Since almost everyone here uses RB3, you’re probably better off asking in a Clone Hero forum.

That means “Add it Up” will be next week’s HMX release.

once I try to download C3-it tries to download it as an RAR file, what do I need to convert this as to use it?

As CUTstudi0s explained, WinRAR is a perfect choice. I’ve added a note to the C3CONtools thread to make this more apparent. It’s one of those faulty assumptions we geeks tend to make that “everybody knows how to use a RAR file”.
