Hi, i need help in making CAT.py appear in Reaper v4.22. I have looked everywhere for guildlines but can not find any. I have the CAT files, but i just cannot figure where to place them. Sorry in advance!

Keep at and don’t be afraid to ask questions, but it is good you are looking first. I totally agree with you, info is pretty spread out now and sometimes hard to find

Thank you for that quick Tut. I liked the mapping of the song, and i m new to charting. I rather not ask questions yet since i can get the answers online, but the issues about that is the answers are not organized to find, and one can spend countless of hours looking. My first song right now as vocal mapping goes is “Boy Pablo – TKM.” Easy song, beat, and vocal. I have good ears for certain instruments, and its hard to understand Reaper’s charting. I said hard due to few older tutorials i found online from the OGs in Customscreators. I m learning, and taking my time.

Be sure you are in the Midi action list, it is different than the main action list. To be sure you are in the midi list, double click on any of the charts, guitar, bass, drums. This should open the midi editor, then undock it – this will put it in a separate window. From there, check that action list.

 

And I would stick with 4.22 works the best for me at least

 

Thank you RubyDanger, and sorry for the late reply. I upgraded back to 4.22, then followed your instruction by opening the Actions tab from the MIDI Editor, the pop -up window showed, in the filter’s box, i typed in “lyric,” boom it showed up and has no shortcut, then i followed username AddyMillDike rest of instructions. Success!

In order to get the shortcut to work, you have to add it yourself (I never could get this shortcut to work when I used the RBN plug-in).

 

Go into the MIDI editor, click on Actions at the top and look for the action “Import lyrics for selected notes from file.” Then click on Add in the lower left corner and set it to Shift+L (or whatever you’d like)

5 years later from this forum, i m a new beginner on chart, watching the tutorial from Nyxyxylyth about Charting Vocals and couldn’t find Shift + L. Went through this forum, down grading from 4.22 to 3.78, did not work. Tried doing Action “Import lyrics for selected notes from file,” and that is not there. Any help on making this work for me? may they removed it completely.

Hi OP and everyone. I m well in NYC, very exhausting but i have been reading, finished 2 books, learn new language, and playing RB4 campaign + tour. Holy liberty, i didnt know the story mode is fun af. i made such cash from tour that i can buy new things via the game. FUn times for a change!

Hi everyone, as a fan of RBN, RB3/4, i had recently got curious on making a chart. I have been reading alot of how to chart already made processing song (beginning guide). There are lots online, old and recent discussion, so many forums and many outdated things. Its already tedious, at times i want to give up, but i am not a quitter. I will keep reading and putting things together (data) so i can update forums like this and others. So new comers can find things feasible to start off from, and be part of creativeness.
