While this may sound like a longshot, maybe the database is being updated to correlate with Rock Band 3’s tenth anniversary?

I though this at first too, especially when the banners and logos disappeared last night. Then again, they’re back to normal now so who knows…

looks like post production. someone recorded themselves playing the game. masked out the background then put their own in for video production purposes.

That’s exactly it. I record my preview videos in Dolphin with a Gecko code for Concentration Mode (black background). Sometimes, during the editing process, I add a music video to the background just to beef up the video a bit. It’s not actually something that happens in game, and Idk if something like that would even possible.

If it interests you, however, you can add video backgrounds to Clone Hero and (I think??) Phase Shift.

It sounds like just one guitar to me. Unless you have something that shows there are indeed two different guitars (ie, stems or sheet music), I’d stick to just guitar & vocals.

You should be able to use the Pro Midi Adapter for PS3 (will work on ps4) set to drum mode. Just make sure the kit you’re buying is compatible.

There are so many favorites in my library, Idk if I could even list them all! Though if I had to pick a few that really stick out to me (in no particular order):

“Do You Believe in Love?” by Huey Lewis – One of my favorite RB songs of all time. Fun on every instrument, especially Pro Keys and harmonies, and just the right difficulty! Overall a perfect combination of all of RB3’s features.
“Photograph” by Def Leppard – Another track that’s fun on every instrument and does a great job of showing what RB3 has to offer.
“Just Like Heaven” by The Cure – A great track for every instrument, but especially one of my favorite Pro Keys charts! It’s especially great if you’re just starting out and want a good song to learn with.
“The Power of Love” by Huey Lewis – Another great Keyboard track that’s good for learning how to play. Really fun on other instruments too!
“Under Pressure (RB3 version)” by Queen – So many great songs deserved RB3 upgrades, yet so few actually got them. Glad to see this one wasn’t skipped over though!
“I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness – Weak Keys, sure, but for every other instrument, this is one the most enjoyable tracks!
“We Built This City” by Jefferson Starship – Great on every instrument, but Pro Keys makes this one of my favorites.
“Last Dance” by The Raveonettes – A song I actually discovered through RB3! Another great Pro Keys track.
“Urgent” by Foreigner – Another song I discovered because of RB3. I remember I found it when looking for good Keyboard songs, and this one doesn’t disappoint!

I have a lot of good memories attached to these songs, and I end up playing at least one of them every time I boot up the game. I also tend to keep these in mind when charting songs of my own. This isn’t even all of them! I could go on for a while…Harmonix made so many good charts during the RB3 era!

Ok, do you mean that this feature was added only in TU5 for xbox, and is absent in the previous versions?

The Learn a song/training feature is present in all versions of the game. It’s even present in the Wii version, which doesn’t support title updates.

Speaking of the Wii, you can select them in that version, but the game will crash as soon as the highway is loaded. I haven’t seriously looked into it, but since the training mode has you play unique sections, my guess is that songs need manually placed “training sections” (similar to practice sections) in order to function properly in this mode. I’ve always wondered if it was possible to add them to customs, but never seriously looked into it lol

Also, I’m not really into coding/debugging or anything like that, but if it helps, I tried this on Dolphin and received these errors when the game crashed:

Whenever you practice a song on anything other than 100%, the game mutes all other stems except the one for the instrument you’re playing. Since most customs don’t have stems (or rather, the stem is a silent audio track), you can’t hear it once you slow it down.

I already have a way to split the stems into individual tracks so each instrument does have its own track

Unfortunately, the only way around this issue would be to split the stems and re-compile the song. It’s also worth noting that this solution wouldn’t be perfect, since multiple instruments might share a stem (keys+guitar, lead guitar+rhythm guitar, etc)

I recommend charting your vocal phrases based on the Harm1 part. Just make sure that the capitalization for harm2 is consistent with where its phrases should be, and not the in-game location of the marker.

                      Example:
                      104541595_609176709692049_36422377793373

If a note goes on so long that it extends into another phrase, then it should be completely covered by both phrases. To do this, extend your phrases so that one ends right as the other begins. Alternatively, create one long phrase and split it using the S key. Again, the phrase markers should be placed based on Harm1’s phrases.

                      In game example:
                      82943153_281614599914762_918358783989934

                      Example in REAPER:

The links for RBN documentation should be up. Here’s one for overdrive, and one for drum fills.

In EOF, select about a measure’s worth of notes and press Ctrl+W to make an overdrive phase. As for fills, go under the BRE tab and create a 5-note chord that lasts for about one measure. Other than that, the rules for charting are pretty much the same, regardless of whether you use EOF or REAPER.

Also, I downloaded the chart and noticed that it’s Expert only. You don’t need to fully chart every single difficulty, but you WILL need to make sure that every Overdrive phase has at least one note per difficulty.

Finally, I highly recommend downloading REAPER and importing your song. EOF is more geared towards charting, but you can do a lot more with REAPER, and it will make debugging your song easier, should you run into any issues.

There’s a tempo map marker placed after the [end] event. It looks like it was an accident (it occurs >100 measures after the song ends), so go ahead and remove it. This should fix the problem

Makes me wonder why Harmonix doesn’t just release specifically-labeled [EXPLICIT] versions.

IIRC, DLC effects the ESRB rating of a game. If Harmonix wants Rock Band to maintain a T-rating, then all DLC must adhere to that rating. They do this by using/creating “clean” versions of songs

I’m questioning how this wasn’t noticed before release, as Harmonix is pretty insistent on keeping the game appropriate for all demographics. Is this the first time a DLC song has been “accidentally” released uncensored in such a way? Was it really even accidental?

I’m asking the same thing tbh. A team of people had to listen to the song, isolate the stems, type out the lyrics, create a chart for both vocals and harmonies, test the song in game, and not ONE person managed to catch this before release?

I’ve added a single lane shift + 1 note to each Pro Keys difficulty to try to fix it (Have not fully charted any non-expert pro keys yet)

PART KEYS refers specifically to the 5-lane keyboard track, so editing the Pro Keys/Animation Tracks wouldn’t have any effect.

I have an Expert Keys + Expert Pro Keys part

Do you have E/M/H parts for 5-lane keys? If not, add at least one note per diffuclty. This should fix the problem.

Do you have a proper Dry Vox track? That’s what controls lip syncing and if it’s just silence, the characters won’t lipsync in game. To make one, record yourself singing/talking along with the song and save it as a mono 16000Hz audio file. If you have stems available, you can use the vocal track instead.

It’s also worth noting that if your song has harmonies, each part will need their own Dry vox track. Harm1 will share the same Dry vox file as the Lead Vocals. Harm2 and Harm3 can usually also share a Dry vox track, assuming their parts aren’t radically different.

                                  Hope this helps!
