• As someone old, who also loves country, super excited to see this Garth song. One of my favorites. Thanks!

So you don’t even get prompted to update?

Nope, my Xbox account is strictly offline.

Same here. When using an account created as “offline” or “local” (I forget the exact wording; essentially it is not a “Live” account), games will not connect to the Live service or check for updates. Once or twice I’ve accidentally logged in with my online account while on the TU4 stick, and I’ve been prompted for an update. All I had to do was decline the update, log out of that account, then restart the game.

Okay, I have to figure out how to do this then. I don’t have a Live account, but I have two XBox profiles that are there when I turn the XBox on. I’m pretty dense with the XBox stuff, so perhaps I need to wait until I get home tonight and take a closer look at what I’m actually doing before I continue trying to sort this out.

Is it really essential to have no XBox accounts on the hard drive? I keep my “offline” account on the stick with TU4, but my usual Live account is on the hard drive, since that’s also the account I use to play all other games. Everything else for playing RB3 online (profile, game saves, etc.) is on the TU5 stick. I haven’t had any issues.

My TU4 account is not enabled for Internet access so there is no chance the game gets updated or that I get asked everytime to update without having to change connection preferences. That’s about it, nothing more I can think of.

So you don’t even get prompted to update?

I’m not sure why I am though. I’ve never played RB online with the XBox, and I don’t think I’ve ever actually connected this console to the internet.

As is stands, I have no need to ever play TU5, since all I use the XBox for is RB Customs. (All my DLC is on my PS3.) Which is why I don’t have a need for a TU5/online stick, and figured I could just do everything with with this TU4 stick.

I am not done with conversions and I do intend to do more & they will be the same quality that I have previously released, in saying that it will be awhile before I release any. Winter is coming and that will give me the time needed to finish up what I started.

For anyone who would like to complete Pro drums on what I have released message me & I will gladly send you all the files you need.

Thanks to Hetz & Sideshow for your kind comments

Hey there. So I’ve been catching up on this thread, mostly because I was excited that the title indicated that Boys Round Here was charted. I already downloaded it without reading the rest of the thread and then was a little bummed when I got to the post that said it didn’t have Pro Drums, since that’s what I play. (Not to tear open an old wound, but I have a point…)

I wanted to start charting a year ago, and this one was on my short list of songs I wanted to do, but was struggling to get started, and then my Reaper trial license ran out, so I gave up.

If you wouldn’t mind, I would love to take a stab at not only testing the drums you have (since you say you have no way to do so), but also try to add the Pro features to the drum chart.

I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to do it, but unless you have some back-end side-deals going on, I don’t see a lot of other people jumping up to offer. :v:

Let me know if I can help!

in reply to: Nov 14, 2014 – Genesis Chronicles #432941

This is a shitty story. But for the C3 authors that did this, it’s my cringy salute to them. (There’s a nice ending, I promise.)

My older brother turned me on to Genesis in I guess it was late 70’s. Maybe it was already the ’80s. I was a budding artist and wanted to draw something. He was frustrated by me being around and handed me the album sleeve of “…And Then There Were Three…” and said, “I don’t know. Draw this.”

I’ll never forget how the band name was written… angled letters, most of the ones in the beginning were full and stylized, and then the rest trailed off. But the way the band name was written there always stuck with me. I listened to that album incessantly. When I discovered “Duke”, it was the greatest thing I’d ever heard. I was 10. And I wanted more. I admit that I’m the terrible Genesis fan that “old school” Genesis fans scoff at, because I love “The Phil Collins Trio”, but that’s the band that made me. But I went back to “Trick” and “Foxtrot” and especially “The Lamb”.

My first concert ever… Giants Stadium in NJ on the Invisible Touch tour.

Erase everything between then and now for the sake of brevity, and I bought RB2 and a PS3 because I always wanted to play drums, and apparently this was all the rage. Also, “Alex Chilton” was on it, and The ‘Mats were another of my favorite bands.

I progressed through the drums, and also did vocals because I can kind of sing, and always called it “Phil Collins-ing it” when I did both at the same time. The dude is my hero. And as much as I loved RB, I was waiting for the day they released Genesis.

    They never did.

I got an XBox really cheap a couple years ago and hardly played it until I discovered customs and went into them just to sing, because my IONs weren’t compatable with the XBox. When my IONs/PS3 interface cable died I just decided to get a Roland kit and the Midi Pro Adapter for the PS3. It was great for my PS3 Rock Band. After a year, I realized that a Midi Adapter for the XBox would let me play drums with customs, so I bought an XBox MPA a couple months ago. And then the “Genesis: Chronicles” announcement came up.

I haven’t played drums to customs until yesterday. I spent most of this week ensuring that my drums would work with my XBox. I took a sick day from work for the Chronicles release.

Today, I positioned my mic stand and drums and Phil Collins’ed everything from “Abacab” and “Duke” and “Three” and some of “Selling England…” and “The Lamb…” After my arms wore out from the drums, I went to vocals only, and I figured I’d end the night on the pinnacle of this release.

“Supper’s Ready” You maniacs really did it. Holy cats. Bless you.

I’m still emotional that you guys did this one. “Supper’s Ready” It’s my favorite song ever. I think I finished with an 88% on Hard (APPARENTLY the real words are different than the ones you yell out in your car!!!), but belting out “a new Jerusalem”, in goddamned Rock Band… it was emotionally soul-crushing. It’s not the first time I wept today.

Thank you, C3 authors, and Farottone for putting this together. You’ve given me everything I’ve ever wanted from this stupid game that has given me so much, and now gives me more.

This release is as official as can be. I’d have bought this on release if Harmonix put it out. This is an amazing thing. I’m truly beside myself.

    It’s Rock Band: Genesis

Apparently, C3 doesn’t take donations, so I just sent $50 to the March Of Dimes. (I know a new game is usually $60, but I usually find deals, so whatevs.) That money was due to go somewhere. Thanks for this.

in reply to: Nov 14, 2014 – Genesis Chronicles #432934

Not sure what you mean? I have tested all songs and they group with their albums. Remember though, there has to be at least 3 songs from an album for them to group in game. A few albums only have one or two songs, those won’t group.

Nope. That explains it. These are all songs that come from albums with only one or two songs. I wasn’t aware of that limitation. Thanks for the explanation!

    Paperlate

My understanding is that it was an EP. It was created to go with Abacab but for some reason that I don’t know and I’m too lazy to research now, it was only released as an EP. The powers that be decided it should be put together with Abacab. That, if it bothers you, can definitely be fixed using C3 CON Tools.

Explains that too. I know Paperlate from side 4 of Three Sides Live, but it never dawned on me that it wasn’t on a full album.

Nothing bothers me about this release. Nothing.

in reply to: Nov 14, 2014 – Genesis Chronicles #432929

I’m still goofy about this release. Been playing it all day.

So thankful you guys put them in CON Album packages. However, the following songs show up under “Genesis”, without an attachment to their albums.

    Eleventh Earl of Mar

    Follow You Follow Me

    For Absent Friends

    The Knife

    Many Too Many

    The Musical Box

    Paperlate (strange album artwork)

    Your Own Special Way

Is that expected? I haven’t yet used C3 Tools, but I could probably use that to fix this, right?

in reply to: Nov 14, 2014 – Genesis Chronicles #432861

I don’t really know what to say. Whatever I type here, no matter what it is, will not accurately represent how beside myself I am with happiness.

There’s not enough ways to say thank you. Maybe I can make my way around the world and take every author for lunch or something.

And you maniacs really did Supper’s Ready. That’s the one that nearly made me break down. I was so excited watching the preview vid, I totally forgot to start the downloads.

Now the mental anguish begins – WHAT SONG DO I PLAY FIRST?!?!

in reply to: Happy Chronicles Day! #432841

It’s cool. Gives me more time to get stuff done around the house so I don’t have to stop playing early in order to do dishes and stuff.

(Also, bonus run to the beer store for supplies.)

in reply to: Happy Chronicles Day! #432835

I’m losing my mind. I thought maybe my internet was screwed up and refused to refresh ONLY the C3 site.

Tried it on two computers. I’m wearing out my F5 key.

in reply to: Introducing Genesis Chronicles! #432522
Okay, I have re-uploaded and checked, and Octavarium should be correct now. I hope you all enjoy it. Between C3, RBN and HMX’s offerings, it’s probably the longest song in Rock Band yet.

I mean, I’m pretty sure it’s longer than Supp–I mean, a song that Octavarium itself references.

I think this should answer any questions.

Actually, it doesn’t because it’s an inside joke of the authors chat. In Octavarium the lyrics reference to Supper’s Ready and with Lowlander in the chat we joked about it. This doesn’t mean I’m confirming we did NOT author it, it just means it’s not a leak. Also, pretty please, if any of you don’t find what they wanted, including Supper’s Ready, don’t be disappointed, something had to give…

    You’re killing me…

BTW, I can’t imagine anybody would be disappointed about what is or isn’t in this pack. “Oh. Supper’s Ready isn’t in this pack? Maybe I can just placate myself with one of these 80 other Genesis songs

in reply to: Introducing Genesis Chronicles! #432484
Lastly, I don’t think Supper’s Ready is technologically possible. Let’s temper our expectations.

I would think it is possible, based on what was released this week.

I kinda glossed over Dream Theater, sorry. Never was a fan. What happened this week?

in reply to: Introducing Genesis Chronicles! #432482
It is definitely technically possible. That doesn’t mean someone is crazy enough to do it. We’ll have to see next Friday.

I literally don’t know if I would be able to emotionally handle that.

I know “literally” is thrown around a lot and people like to correct its usage on the internet, but it’s accurate. I mean I truly don’t know how long I would sit on my floor, elated, scared, excited, intimidated, and overjoyed that I was about to interact with that song, more than just singing in my car.

I really want to see Behind The Lines/Duchess off Duke. Years back, I found a Youtube video of some middle-aged schmuck playing along to Behind The Lines on an electric kit, in a closet, with headphones. And he was great. Spot on. It made me realize the stuff you can do with an electric kit and not destroy the neighbors and family. I’ve become that schmuck.

Of course, the first thing I did when I got my kit was try and do the same thing. I was off, obviously. But I keep trying. It’d be lovely to have actual visual representation to play along with.

God, I really want “Watcher Of The Skies” too. Those drums would be so fun. AUGH! I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING!!!!

in reply to: Introducing Genesis Chronicles! #432456

So I’ve been obsessing over this pack all day. And since Farottone was “surprised that nobody started a guess which songs we’ll get that we don’t know of yet thread or discussion”, I thought I’d put one together.

I don’t know if its protocol here to just throw this on an announcement thread. But I couldn’t find a way to put it in a general discussion thread. Any mod can feel free to move it. I don’t care where it winds up, I’m just excited to see Genesis fans discussing their DLC.

It’s amazing that this is only just a little more than half the songs coming next week. 48 songs. (Although Slippermen is technically 3 songs on the Lamb release. So maybe it’s already 50 songs, but we’re not going to kill C3 over ripping us off.)

    From Genesis to Revelation (1969)

    Trespass (1970)

    Nursery Cryme (1971) (1 song)

    Firth of Fifth

    More Fool Me

    The Bettle Of Epping Forest

    After The Ordeal

    The Cinema Show

    Aisle of Plenty

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (1974) (23 songs)

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

    Genesis (1983) (3 songs)

    Mama

    That’s All

    No Son Of Mine

    We Can’t Dance

    Fading Lights

    FILL OUT THE REMAINING TRACKLIST!

This is what we know we’re getting. PLEASE speculate as to the other 30+ songs that are coming in this pack. Look at those albums with no songs! There’s so many amazing songs yet announced.

(Lastly, I don’t think Supper’s Ready is technologically possible. Let’s temper our expectations.

And if I’m wrong, C3 are gods, and may they have mercy on my repentant soul]

in reply to: Introducing Genesis Chronicles! #432380

Looks like I’m developing a case of the flu next Friday and calling in sick.

Make it a long lasting case of the flu, that’s a ton of songs.

Probably a good idea. Half the day spent fretting about which song to play first, and then the rest of the day unable to play because I won’t be able to see the charts due to my weeping from sheer joy.
