C3 WORDPRESS BLOG – FRONT PAGE
The face of DEDICATED ROCK BAND PLAYER is illuminated by the dim glow of a computer monitor as they read PKSAGE’s blog post.

PKSAGE
Stuff your backpack with Mr. Pibb and Red Vines (= crazy delicious), turn down the lights, and get ready to play eleven awesome songs from eight awesome movie OSTs!

Dedicated Rock Band Player’s face breaks into a grin as DANGER ZONE enters from stage left, and wonders if pksage will make an Archer joke.

PKSAGE
Movie composers and sound…arrangers?…have a similar job to us: they have to select a list of songs that works for their thing. It’s, like, exactly the same, am I right? This week they saved us the work, as we…

pksage’s voice fades to a background murmur as Dedicated Rock Band Player loses interest in the rambling blog post.

DEDICATED ROCK BAND PLAYER (V.O.)
Oh man! Which of these songs should I play first? Maybe I should check the preview video to see if I’ve actually heard that one or the other one before, or the visualizer images to get an idea of the difficulty.

…and then John Drake said I should add some more garlic, which really did help with the…

Dedicated Rock Band Player, obviously tuning out the boring copy at the top of the blog post, scrolls to the end to see if the authors had anything to say about their songs this week. Their eyes are drawn to comments by DVDSMITH, DRUMMEROCKBAND, and BEARZUNLIMITED.

DVDSMITH
(confidently, re: “The Simpsons Theme”)
One of the most iconic TV theme shows of all time makes it into Rock Band! This version, recorded for The Simpsons Movie in 2007, gave Green Day a top 20 hit in the UK and Ireland and at 85 seconds long became one of the shortest hit singles in UK chart history.

DRUMMEROCKBAND
(excitedly, re: “Back in Time”)
Time Travel! Huey Lewis! Guitar Solos! Sax Solos! Just download it already!

DRUMMEROCKBAND (CONT’D)
(re: “That Thing You Do!”)
If you haven’t seen this movie, you’re really missing out. This movie had one of the best soundtracks in movie history (don’t bother arguing with me, you know it’s true), which included the stupidly catchy tune which is this one. For people who have seen this movie, I recommend putting on your favorite pair of sunglasses, play this song on drums and say, ‘I am Spartacus!’

BEARZUNLIMITED
(calmly, re: “Danger Zone”)
Cool guitar riff with a fun solo, tricky arpeggiator patterns and a sax solo on keys, and likely a great party hit for vocals.

Dedicated Rock Band Player is barely seen zipping out of frame, a USB drive clutched in one hand. A moment later, the iconic Xbox 360 startup noise is heard.

PKSAGE
See you next Friday!

FADE OUT.

  1. I’ll take a brief, brief moment to be sad that this doesn’t include “Love Stinks” to round out the Wedding Singer set, or “Johnny B. Goode” from Back to the Future, but now I’ll immediately stop being sad because these choices are so very great.

  2. Great Scott ! , this is a great pack guys thank you so much for doing this hard work every week 😀
i hope someday you could make some cartoons/anime openings or more videogames songs and if there’s the slightiest possibility of some argentinian rock songs ( seru giran , virus , los abuelos de la nada , soda estereo , spinneta , rata blanca or anyother band )
Well thanks for the pack , good weekend to all of you :B

  3. Those Last Action Hero songs are pretty awesome and underrated. Danger Zone on Pro Bass is a dream I thought may never come true! Thanks, as always.

  4. Great theme this week! It reminded me how much I want to play the songs from Infant Sorrow (Get Him to the Greek) and Sex Bob-omb (Scott Pilgrim). I won’t forget the rumors of the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack coming as official DLC and how crushed I was when we found out it wasn’t happening anymore (I think because of Warner Bros).

  5. Here’s my suggestions for the next At The Movies pack:
Live to Rise by Soundgarden (from Avengers Assemble/The Avengers)
Kick Ass (We Are Young) by MIKA vs RedOne (from Kick-Ass)
We Are Sex Bob-omb! by Sex Bob-omb (from Scott Pilgrim vs The World)
Threshold by Sex Bob-omb (from Scott Pilgrim vs The World)
Garbage Truck by Sex Bob-omb (from Scott Pilgrim vs The World)
It’s On Again (ft. Kendrick Lamar) by Alicia Keys (from The Amazing Spider-Man 2)
Hero (ft. Josey Scott) by Chad Kroeger (from Spider-Man)
Black Suits Comin’ (Nod Ya Head) by Will Smith (from Men In Black 2)
Back In Time by Pitbull (from Men In Black 3)
When Can I See You Again by Owl City (from Wreck-It Ralph)
Let It Go by Idina Menzel (from Frozen) (wow, this suggestion is probably gonna make me a few enemies)

      1. I swear I answered this already, but the post disappeared. I blame Facebook. Just go to the Other Customs Discussion section of the Forums, and search on “Idina Menzel”. You’ll find it.
