March 25, 2014 at 3:02 pm #416246I don’t think I could go back to Rock Band without customs, so if it turns out the 3k3y doesn’t work…I’ll probably sell my console and find a system that has CFW on it ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
Back on topic: my apologies for not having the rest of the database uploaded. If I’m not at my job, then I’m working on some custom songs I’d like to get released. I’ll try and get some more updated today.
I agree with you, playing RB with customs gives the game whole new dimension and only sky is the limit. Good to hear that you working on some new custom songs, wish I have the knowledge how to make them, but I assume that it takes lot of time to make one song. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
I suggest that if 3k3y doesn’t work for you, maybe go for some used old fat ps3 which you can find pretty cheap and put cfw on it.
March 25, 2014 at 11:31 pm #416290As far as I know there is no one-click solution to convert PhaseShift songs back to RockBand. You have to use the C3 converter to create PS3 ready custom songs. But it only works with rb3con files (XBOX).
So all the songs in the custom song database without ps3 files can be converted from the Xbox files there? Is there a simple walkthru to do that?
March 25, 2014 at 11:34 pm #416291That’s the whole point of PS3 Converter in C3 CON Tools.
March 25, 2014 at 11:47 pm #416292That’s the whole point of PS3 Converter in C3 CON Tools.Sorry still very new at this. So its pretty simple to covert from the Xbox files?
March 25, 2014 at 11:49 pm #416293It’s one click, essentially. Make sure you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS that come with PS3 Converter ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Its good because I found a few ps3 songs and links that didn’t work in the database.

Broken download links I couldn’t get to work were:
Tal Bachman – She’s so High
Aerosmith – Cryin & Dont Wanna Miss A Thing
Vanilla Ice – Ice, Ice Baby
And I couldn’t get Hootie & the Blowfish – Hold my Hand, to work.
So I can use the Xbox link and convert Hold My Hand using PS Converter? If its that simple why don’t all the songs have PS3 files?

Thanks, fixed Vanilla Ice. The other songs are broken due to the fact that they have apostrophes in the file name, and don’t seem to jive with the website. I’ll have to re-upload all of those ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />
So I can use the Xbox link and convert Hold My Hand using PS Converter?Yeah if the PS3 link is not working for you, run the Xbox CON through the PS3 Converter and you’ll get the same result.
If its that simple why don’t all the songs have PS3 files?Only one person posts the PS3 links: me. I have to manually copy each link into the database once uploaded, which means search the song title, and paste my uploaded link. Now do that 700 times, as that’s how many songs there are in the database.
Simple? Yes. Time consuming? Very much so. When you have a back catalog of 25GB worth of songs to upload with a terrible upload speed, that also slows things down ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
BUT…on that topic: Every week except 2013-04-19 (the big 200 GHtoRB3 week) is uploaded and linked on the database ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> I will get to that week…but it’s 11GB+ of uploading, so I need a bit of time.

Sorry, I should have explained better. The link for Hootie and the Blowfish – Hold My Hand works fine, the PS3 files kick me back out to song library after choosing the instrument difficulty. I tried from the xbox files and get the same error message.

Thanks for all you help.

March 27, 2014 at 10:59 am #416379Is there a better way to add more songs to your ps3 then re-merging the entire song list each time you add a song? My list is nearing 200 and adding a song or 2 takes sometime now. As well if I don’t have the original downloaded files how do you remove a song that won’t play from the list?
Thanks
March 27, 2014 at 1:15 pm #416384As well if I don’t have the original downloaded files how do you remove a song that won’t play from the list? Please read the tutorial. It is explained in a good and easy to follow way how you can delete single songs from the merging list (songs.dta). Use the option “Manage pack DTA file” (Tools) thats part of the PS3converter.
The only thing I have to point on is the missing option to search a song from the list. You have to walk through the whole list to find the song you are looking for. Probably there is a way to integrate a search function with the next update?

Thanks for the info, I missed that in the tutorial. I am still wondering how many songs you can make into one this? I there a way of doing another list? Perhaps under another HMX(songs) folder or something?
March 27, 2014 at 7:31 pm #4164042 songs doesn’t load to me on ps3, says unable to load song “skipping”. Used con file and converted for ps3.
All Time Low – Umbrella
One Republic – All the Right Moves

Perhaps under another HMX(songs) folder or something?Sure, one could find the encryption key to another folder, but it’s not worth it. I’ve loaded the entire C3 database onto my PS3 without any problems, so I think the amount of songs you can load are just within the limits of how many songs are allowed in the library (somewhere 2000? I can’t remember the exact number at the moment). So no need to worry about that.

My list is nearing 200 and adding a song or 2 takes sometime now. What I do it have my window sorted by “Date Last Modified”, and that should show you the order you’ve merged your songs. That way you can just copy the new folders and the songs.dta.

Thanks, unfortunately I still do not have a PS3 to test these on ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” /> I can take a look at the files, but there’s only so much I can do without a system…Sorry!
