The Beatles Rock Band Custom DLC Project – There’s No Time For Fussing and Fighting My Friends

We would like to dedicate this release to “Sideshow”/”SideshowN”. Sideshow recently passed away after a battle with cancer. Sideshow was not only a huge asset to the custom community, but the Rock Band community as a whole. Sideshow’s efforts were fundamental to early Rock Band 3 customs enabling the custom community to evolve and grow, making projects such as this possible.

Some of his contributions included charting vocals in the RB3 custom for We Can Work It Out, providing and helping new authors with drum charts, alongside authoring many songs himself. In addition to customs, he also authored pro drums for all Rock Band Network 1.0 tracks as part of the Rock Band Harmonies Project, later used by Harmonix as part of Rock Band 4 DLC.

While no longer present, his contributions are not forgotten.

His friends and family have set up a GoFundMe to assist with burial expenses. If you wish to contribute: you can find it here.

“We Can Work It Out” was recorded during the “Rubber Soul” sessions, and was released alongside the album. The song draws inspiration from a fight Paul had with his girlfriend, and bounces between an optimistic view of wanting to reconcile their differences, and the pessimist view of “life is too short, cut your losses and move on”.

While most band members wanted the track to be the lead single, John argued that Day Tripper should be chosen instead. This resulted in “We Can Work It Out” and “Day Tripper” becoming the world’s first Double A-Side Single. The song proved to be an instant hit, with the single selling over 1 million copies in the UK alongside becoming one of the bands fastest selling singles in the US.

  1. Fuck Cancer indeed. What a tragic end to what sounds like an awesome person. I didn’t know him, but I have played his customs and appreciate his contributions to my favorite past time. Rest in peace Sideshow.
