So it sounds like you want to force a HOPO. Just put a HOPO marker at the start of the 2-chord and also the 3-chord. “Force HOPO On” note 101

The ability to adjust, add, or take away notes that should/shouldn’t be there and then save a personal copy. So basically a simple in-game editor.

Saw Rush in 1975 around the time Caress of Steel came out. I didn’t know who they were at the time. I’ve had the privilege of seeing them 15-20 times over the years up until 2015 and they kept getting better. It is still hard to believe someone so strong could be silenced like this.

I’m going to chime in here with my opinion, as I’ve recently released my own version of an existing entry and will be releasing another relatively soon. I think the above advice is great depending on what the exact differences between your chart and theirs would be and how much you’d be adding to that existing chart.

Say someone uploads or has uploaded a guitar only custom of a song you’d like to see as a full band custom. You’re planning on adding drums, bass, vocals, and keys if the song has it. I’d reach out to the author if you want to include their guitar chart in yours, but I don’t think I’d send them the final file to update theirs as a bulk of the work in that final full band custom isn’t theirs. Instead, just release your own version when you’re done, and if you reached out and they were fine with you using their existing guitar chart, credit their contributions. If they weren’t fine with you using their chart, or if you were going to rechart that part anyway because theirs had some issues, then rechart that part yourself and release it. Though, if you do rechart for the latter reason, I’d maybe not mention that if it’s from someone who’s active around here.

I’m pretty sure a single instrument chart is up for grabs even without the permission of the charter, although of course it is a courtesy to let the person know, and if you use any part of it then give credit for their part in it.

My personal rule of thumb is that if I am going to add just one instrument then I’ll contribute it to the original charter, if the song has not been abandoned. If I am going to add 2 or more instruments (or 1 instrument plus other major things it is lacking such as full reductions, correct bad audio, etc.) then I feel comfortable releasing my own version. But that is a rare occurrence.

Thanks for the Neil Young pack to everyone involved! Many of these songs would have also been top picks for me too. I especially appreciate Harvest Moon, probably my favorite of his.

I’m curious if anyone is making any customs for CCR

Not being facetious. Sometime within the next 5 years. Yes, a couple.

GH hands down, especially the World Tour variety.

I’d just like to see customs fully authored and released all at once instead of piecemeal updates. Corrections happen, yes, but releasing a song before everything you plan to do is complete, I wish not.

That’s a lot of work! Thanks!

I would also like it to work out this way, but when testing or even building the custom, the program points out “Could not find MIDI track authored for real keys, possibly due to incorrect track name event”

I’ve done it once or twice. It has been so long that my comments should be taken as just pointing you in the right direction.

Magma has check boxes for ” “Auto-generate ‘fake’ pro-keys” and “Auto-generate keys animations” on the Game Data tab. Just chart 5 lane keys as normal and when compiling check those boxes. Then also make sure the check box next to Pro Keys in the Difficulty section is not checked. Should work.

I’ll bet there will be plenty of punk grandpas playing these songs soon.

I know you’re semi-retiring, but since you have an Everly Brothers love… might I suggest the late era, Macca-penned “On the Wings of a Nightingale” someday? It’s a great, overlooked piece <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Yep. I fully agree it is a great song. I’ve considered it many times, and the next time I look for more songs I’ll consider it again. I actually have this one and Why Worry tempo-mapped already. I’ve always been fond of Milk Train too. Thanks for the suggestion!

You have good taste. The Grass Roots have always been a group I’ve been wanting to get to. But they are not easy to chart for because their use of horns and keys are so dominant and are usually so up front in the mix, with guitar often pushed back. So that is a double strike against them for me because I usually stick to songs with good guitar parts. But I haven’t ruled them out and will consider them again. Let’s Live For Today and Temptation Eyes would be most likely.

Two more from me and now it is time for me to semi-retire again from customs as I have done over the years. But as usual, I expect to be back next year with more! But you will see a few of my collaborations on other people’s customs sometime soon, so be on the lookout for those.
