I’ve not posted in aaages (hiding my head in shame at my consistent inability to knuckle down and start MAKING customs…) but I have to pipe and say “WOW!” at this.

Multitracks are always best, to my mind, and (much as my tastes are of a more indie-rock bent) these will be mega-popular among my casual pals.

        Thanks for two great years!

The chances of anything coming from Khimbar… hoping it’s better than a million to one!

I find chaining my barstaff up after work, and refusing to pay them until they play with me* works…

            *On Rock Band 3, obviously

Seriously, putting it on at the end of a quiet night with the staff and a select few customers has become quite a ritual. A couple of the guys who’d scarcely even heard of Guitar Hero or Rock Band have since gone out and got their first guitars…

By quite a margin, it has to be “Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac. I use it to warm up on drums (hard, the best I can manage) and it was one of the first songs I could comfortably play on Expert Guitar (“shooting Star” by Bad Company was the first, getting me used to the speed and oranges! Played that a lot too, but mostly pre-RB3)

Amazing stuff, here’s to year two (and three, and four!)

Loving the poppier selection, and loving the multitracks (I won’t ask how you got them?!) even more. ‘Coolness’ aside for a moment, RB is always a great party game, and the sooner these get finished – but that I had time or skills to assist – the better!

If feedback is required, I can hardly wait for “I Touch Myself” to be finished

With minimal duplication, and not thinking about RB-friendliness…

                      Joy Division – Closer

The Smiths – The Queen is Dead

                      Radiohead – OK Computer

The Decemberists – The Crane Wife

                      The Afghan Whigs – Gentlemen

Manic Street Preachers – the Holy Bible

Elbow – Asleep in the Back

Cherry Ghost – Thirst For Romance

Flaming Lips – The Soft Bulletin

Belle and Sebastian – If You’re Feeling Sinister

Would swoon if any of these were charted by the lovely C3 boys. If anyone has multitracks, then I’d simply die and go to heaven… well, maybe

(Honorable mentions: Morrissey – Vauxhall or Arsenal; R.E.M. – Automatic or Out of Time; Counting Crows – August; Arcade Fire – Suburbs; Suede – Dog, Ma, Star; Grandaddy – Sopthware Slump; Jim White – No Such Place; Lambchop – Nixon… oh, ffs, who said TEN!?!)

Brown Eyed Girl would be a great party track – +1 to that!

Bumping this thread. I don’t know, but I expect we’re mostly 90’s teenagers here? There’s loads of great bands mentioned, but the glaring omissions from Rock Band so far? I say Afghan Whigs and Manic Street Preachers. Any love from the authors?

I wish I had the nous, and the time, to help out – still plan to learn and do some reductions, at least, but life and work are constantly towering over my ambitions of late. Not even getting time to play

LOL, at the time, I thought the ‘karaoke’ vocals were meant to do that, as a ‘reward’ for playing accurately… actually quite liked that idea, but obviously it’s not up to C3 standards!

What DO the karaoke vocals do – is it just the option to turn the vocalist down?

(I like playing keys, but I’m recently trying to improve on drums (mostly still play medium) and guitar is just ‘friendlier’)

                              Ah, thanks – didn’t realise you could just mouse-over – d’oh

One of the first customs I played (whilst quite drunk *ahem*) was Everybody’s Changing on keys with a friend singing. Don’t play keys much, but KNEW I remembered the vocals cutting in and out. It makes sense now!

Very excited for The Cure; great stuff.

I’ve never played Rocksmith so could be talking out of my behind, but couldn’t a semi-multitrack version of Boys Don’t Cry be captured from the audio? Even if it was only guitar, having multitracked instruments is a HUGE boon to my eyes…
