Eh.
If I poke your shoulder with my finger once, it barely registers. If I do it constantly for what, 5 years now?, you’d be begging me to just cut it off instead because the pain would be unbearable.
It. Gets. Annoying.-

Seil. Reason: this is really cringe i'm sorry
Unnecessary? Hardly. Disrespectful? Not applicable – I don’t owe you any respect. You come into our house, you follow our rules. Part of coming in here is learning to live with the resident attitudes. Mine is an acquired taste. I sure as heck am not going to change for you or some other newcomer. You, however, have the advantage of reading all that’s been posted before you make your first post. You chose not to do that. That already disappoints us, because the first thing you’re saying to our community, whether or not you intended it to be that way, is that you don’t care about our rules and you can’t be bothered to spend the minimum amount of time researching before you post something.
Again, I’m not OP, and I agree that they should’ve read the rules before posting. But since full-album requests are only discouraged in the rules, I don’t see a reason to be so hard on someone for making a full-album request. It sure doesn’t seem inviting to that person to stay in the community. If that’s how you want to present your website, that’s up to you. I’m not gonna tell you to change your attitude. I just don’t think you’re encouraging any new members to join the community, if you can’t forgive small mistakes like this.
If it wasn’t allowed, the thread would have been closed and the OP warned. OP is asking where to request full albums when in the rules we address specifically full albums and we discourage that. So, it’s not the best way to go to ask how or where to request something we specifically ask not to request because it doesn’t lead anywhere. I can see some user saying “Sorry for requesting something I know won’t get done and takes a ton of time but I truly believe
by would be incredible in Rock Band. Here’s to hoping!”. But “Hey, where do I request 4 full albums, dawgs?” is another matter. Again, allowed, hence no closing of the thread. And I characterized it as “dumb” only to reprise what you said, I don’t think it’s actually dumb but it’s not the best move ever.
You’re right. But it’s not a good idea to put down a new member for not following that “rule”, compared to other more important and obvious rules, if you’re trying to present a welcoming community environment. My main issue was with Nemo’s attitude. “Dismissive” was probably the wrong word, but it was unnecessary and disrespectful, in my opinion.
What makes it dumb and disrespectful of the people who give up their free time to moderate the forums is that full albums are addressed in the rules of the Requests subforum. If anyone cannot be bothered to read the rules, the best they’re gonna get is dismissive. Ask any forum that ever existed.
From the rule:
I have seen a increase in people requesting full albums lately, and I would like to comment on that. We are not mad and you are not breaking any rules or anything, but I would like to say that you are doing yourself a disservice by requesting full albums.
It’s not really a rule, just advice. It doesn’t say full album requests are disallowed, just not recommended (understandably so). I get that mods can have their own opinions, but I don’t see how this kind of request is disrespectful.
I’m just saying if I were new here I would take that as a bit rude, not thoughtful. Not everyone knows how this site works right off the bat. I think this question, out of many beginner questions, at least deserved a clearer answer
Always start small on here. Try requesting a few songs from each album? If those get done and there’s high demand maybe the authors will take in more request from SP

Just a friendly suggestion

I’m not OP but thank you for at least being helpful. I wish more people here were more welcoming to newcomers like you are, instead of just giving snarky replies to everything
Common sense should answer your question.
Jeez, why so dismissive? Just because YOU think no one’s gonna do it doesn’t make it a dumb request.
You may want to update the link to match the one in the authoring tools post since this one seems to be down now.
Happy birthday dude!
@DemonUnicorns, : I’m sorry, I never knew you guys wanted to do Hum – Stars for so long! I originally got the idea to do it from this post (I see your reply on there too, Froogzer). I actually finished it full band, LONG before I made my WIP thread and started releasing customs, so I just made it for myself to play… By the time I made my WIP thread I had lost the custom and the Reaper project, so I just started recharting it but kinda forgot about it cuz I didn’t realize how much people like you guys wanted this song… I would’ve totally been cool with either of you taking over if you PMed me about it or something. Please forgive me

make sure the event type dropdown is set to “Text Events” (not Velocity)
For the sake of this thread and others who might find it, if your midi window is docked (like mine does by default), you will first need to undock your window and then the File menu will appear on the free floating window. The dock button is at the top of the docked midi window.
You can do it while docked too, just right-click anywhere on the MIDI Editor ruler (the grey area with the measure numbers) and it will show File, Edit, Navigate, etc. in the form of a context menu.
