What are the name of these animations? And an animation intensity question.

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone of you know the name of these directed cuts:

      https//youtu.be/fPnujKyDWDM?t=1m20s (Vocalist and guitarist)
I tried [directed_duo_guitar] but that’s not it. It IS [directed_duo_guitar].

youtu.be/RL1stkO2kIs?t=1m6s (Leaning forward, doing something with one hand)
I tried [directed_vocals_cls], no luck. It actually was [directed_vocals_cls].

I’m making a really laid back custom (Soft Place To Land, by Sara Bareilles), so that’s why I need less over-the-top animations.

Extra question: How do I get the band to stop moving around? I want them to play kind of like the way they play in Space Oddity: https//youtu.be/17EH34YqhUY?t=1m
I tried [mellow] but it’s not mellow enough. Is there a [super mellow]? or is the one in the video a directed cut? Maybe it’s the genre of the song (I’m using pop-rock).

      Thank you in advance.

Directed animation cuts pull from a pool, so it’s possible you’ve got the right directed animations set but it’s just not pulling the specific one you want when you go to playtest it. I’m not an expert with venues by any means, and someone might correct me, but that second one looks like it’s just a [coop_v_closeup] and not a directed closeup.

Animations can also be determined by the genre you set when you build the song in magma. Just to test out if this is your issue, try building the song with the genre set to Glam (what the Bowie track you mentioned is) and see if the band is behaving the way you want. If that fixes it, you can set the genre back to what it should be and download Milomod to set the animation genre to your glam dramatic/what works for you.

I forgot to mention that I tested the song several times, in different venue sizes, and those weren’t the animations, but maybe it just was bad luck.

About Milomod, I’ve seen that around, but I haven’t gotten around to using it. I didn’t know you can do that with it. Thank you, I’ll try it

For the song you’re working on in particular, do you have the tempo set to somewhere below 100 and the animation speed set to slow in Magma? That might help with mellowing the band a bit more.

The song is 128 BPM, but its time signature is 3/4, which i think makes it faster than normal for Magma. The first time I built the song I set it to Slow, but the group was actually moving faster than normal. I built it again, set to Medium, and they were moving okay, more on the mellow side. Building it with Fast gave me the same animation intensity as Medium.

Well, using MiloMod did the trick. I changed the animation genre to Goth (dramatic) and it was perfect. Now I just need to change the directed cuts and add lipsync dryvoxes
