I remember reading a review of RB3 before it released and after listing all the wonderful new features RB3 offered, the writer asked the question, “What more could you need from the Rock Band franchise?”

Personally, for me, nothing. What other instrument would we need, a saxophone? A violin? A Theremin? And what additional features do we really need? We can already make any song we’d ever want, so what else is needed from this franchise (aside from replacement guitars > )?

RB3 is pretty much perfect to me thanks to c3 and you guys who author. It’s the only reason my 360 is still around. This probably sounds cheesy, but the only thing I could see making it better would be improved venues with kinect integration. Select one person from the band who you’d get a first person view of. Kinect could track movements and show different parts of the crowd and stuff as that person moves around. Better playlist controls plus more saves and an actual venue selector would be nice as well.

Also, ability to choose which “level” of stage. I kinda hate playing a huge long list of Metallica songs or AC/DC songs in an arcade where it would be so awesome to play them on a huge stage in front of a huge crowd.

This so much, being able to avoid those dreadful music video venue stages would be a dream come true

6-lane guitar, no restriction on how many can play an instrument simultaneously. ability to create custom songs – none of which will ever happen.

Please no. That would actually actively kill the game for everyone I think. It’d not only make importing past songs even more impossible than it already is, but I’m sure I speak for a lot of people when I say adding more buttons would just cause too much confusion to make it worth it. I also would not want to relearn charting for all that if there were a new backdoor someone discovered that allowed customs on new systems

They definitely need to implement the dynamic difficulties like Rocksmith has. No more EMHX. The game determines how hard the song should be based on what your ability has been so far. If you can 100% everything but fail on the solo, the solo difficulty is then scaled down, and you get less points.

Dynamic difficulty is fine for pro guitar/bass, but 5 lane guitar is so much easier I think it would be overkill to remove the static difficulty system entirely. Even the Rocksmith team put a score attack mode in the sequel because of how much people wanted static difficulties and how much better such difficulties are for online scores because everybody is scored the same.

A better tour mode, score duels and tug of war (like in RB2) and support for more than just one real guitar.

I forgot to mention something, keep the leaderboards like they did in Rock Band 3. That was one of my favorite things about that game.

I just want to play a rock band game that can handle over 2952 songs in game. The new consoles are the answer with 5GB of RAM dedicated to games instead of 512MB RAM in the previous gen consoles. Besides, we need a plastic instrument game for the current consoles. Yes, this article is redumbdant with Alex Rigopulous quotes but we can still dream.

              X360->X1 is possible:

              http://www.reddit.com/r/Rockband/commen … on/civci0g

We ARE porting DLC entitlements (purchase rights) from 360 -> X1 for Dance Central: Spotlight. If you bought a song for Dance Central 1,2 or 3 on 360, and we release it as DLC on X1, it will be free to download (on the same Gamertag, of course) within Spotlight.

Most of our songs are licensed for 5 years, and they started coming up for renewal about a year ago. As they licenses approach expiration we re-license them with the rights-holders. So far only a few have no allowed us to do it. About 99% of the songs are still available for purchase.

Just to be sure: get rid of the slap in the face called ALL INSTRUMENTS MODE

I thought I heard its possible to have 8 gamertags on the XboxOne locally. Each vocalist would be able to keep score to their own gamertag in a full band scenario.

                  I don’t mind the premise, it’s the execution I don’t like.

Exactly. I don’t give a rat’s ass if it’s not tied to a gamertag or whatever – but there’s no reason it shouldn’t still have a REAL SCORE.

In the next Rock Band, I would see:

                    1) Improved Pro Drums: 1 snare with 4 toms, plus 5 cymbals: hi-hat, ride, crash, splash and a china. Also i’d like the hi-hat pedal and obviously the bass pedal!

                    2) Pro guitar controllers distribued in all countries, and not only on BestBuy, like it has happened with RB3…

                    3) The ability to play the same instruments at a time: this is important, expecially on online plays, because if I have a guitar and there is another player with a guitar, we can’t play together .-.

                    4) A faceoff mode and a battlemode like Guitar Hero would be appreciated by all the players (I think)

                    5) The ability to set a specific scrolling speed for a player like Guitar Hero, and not just for everyone…

                    6) A solid carrer mode and Expert+ for the double bass pedal!

                    7) RHYTHM GUITAR!!!! It was fun in GH2 and GH3

Too few people played Rock Revolution so almost nobody got to see that mess that is a fretboard with a lot of drums gems. But I did…

Since people are listing off what they want from a new Rock Band game, here’s what I want:

                        – Technology similar to that of Rocksmith for Pro Guitar, so that I may use my own electric guitar for the game instead of having to use a specialized controller or MIDI guitar.

                        – Functionality similar to that of Rock Band 2. I prefer a more straightforward interface, with all the options being in the menus themselves as opposed to inside some miniature hub each player has to manage.

                        – A versus mode similar to that in Guitar Hero and earlier Rock Band games. I want to compete for scores with others online, and it was a shame that no one else seemed to want to on RB2, and it was removed on RB3.

                        – Give us back the old tour mode! Or better yet, expand upon it with more options and choices for the band. Maybe add in options as to what record label deals you’ll accept, and maybe how you’ll interact with fans (I’m talking beyond the levels of potentially playing at a rich fan’s house or whatever).

                        – Allow five-instrument online multiplayer (as in guitar, bass, keys, drums, AND vocals/harmonies). Also, show all five players onstage at one time.

                        – Allow venue selection BY DEFAULT. I know RB1 and RB2 had a cheat code you could put in, but I don’t want to have to enable a cheat and be unable to play online in order to pick a venue I like. On a side note, make the music video venues more like RB2 than RB3. I prefer the stylistic and artistic style of RB2’s music videos than the random, flashy images that don’t really match the mood of any song in RB3.

And now for things I DON’T want.

                        – If you’re going to add extra buttons, drum pads, fine. But allow an option for the older style of charts if you must do this. If we were to, say, rework the drums entirely, they would have to either rechart the entirety of the Rock Band catalog (something not even possible legally thanks to so many RBN authors disappearing after doing one or a few songs, never to be heard of again) or automate it like the GH series would their charts for RB drums. And that’d be no good IMO.

                        – Don’t force us to unlock goals to get special clothes and such from the store. If you want to lock special instruments until we’ve unlocked certain goals for that specific instrument, fine, since it’s not like my character would be playing that awesome golden drumset if I focused on guitar, anyway. But I like being able to buy clothes from the shop for me to wear on-stage to either look really cool or incredibly silly.

                        – If there were to be a successor to the RBN, don’t charge us $100 to author stuff. I get with the XNA program RBN was based around you had to pay that much so that you could submit material, but with XNA most likely not getting carried over to Xbox One, there would be no need for such a hefty charge for such a thing. I would prefer to be able to do it for free, and just give most of the earnings to Harmonix/Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo/whatever, but if there must be an up-front charge for it, make it cost a bit less than an arm and a leg.
