Meat Loaf – Anything for Love, Crossfade – Invincible, and David Lee Roth – Just Like Paradise would all be excellent ones to have.

Whip up a guitar chart for it if you’re interested, and I’ll take a look. If it’s good, we’ll take it from there.

I guess you guys “took it from there”

Haha indeed we did. +1 to “Cars”, “Axel F”, “Magic Carpet Ride”, “California Dreamin'”, “That’ll Be the Day”, and “What I Like About You”. Might get to them myself eventually but my queue is pretty long as is.

Very interesting, eclectic mix of music, I can approve!

            John Denver – “Country Roads”

I feel like as a West Virginian I’m almost obligated to give this a +1, although I also feel obligated to be pedantic and mention the full title of the song is “Take Me Home, Country Roads”. =P

Still, it would be a great song to have around in general, and especially to those of us in the Mountain State. …If I ever get around to learning how to chart I may actually be interested in trying to chart it myself, or at least help someone else. But we’ll see if I’m any good at it, or if I’ll ever get a computer I trust to start using the software I need.(My current laptop is admittedly on its last legs…)

+1 to Bad Company, Frank Sinatra, and Oakridge Boys!

I welcome pedantry. I’ll edit my post.

Once again Farottone and samjjones, I’d be fine with collaborating on at least “That’ll Be the Day” and “California Dreamin'”.

I am overwhelmed by the influx of community interest in the songs on this thread. This was meant to be a “song request” post, but has transmogrified into an actual project kickstarter. I wish I could say that was my original intent all along, but I’m not that Machiavellian*. This has been a very pleasant surprise. You guys rock.

Many of you have offered to collaborate on some of these songs. I’ve been alerted that some of these songs are already in the process of being authored, or are in other people’s “to-do” lists, so I don’t want to spoil any of those surprises. There are probably others listed here that are already done/being worked on, and I just don’t know about yet. So before scheduling any work, I’ll try to do some more digging around and find out if any are in other authors’ pipelines. I’m also in the process of upgrading my hardware situation (I only have an 8 year old laptop I’m using, with 1MB RAM and less than 1 GB left in available space. Gulp. Ordered some new stuff yesterday ) Once that’s all done, I’ll have an idea of actual timelines for some stuff.

I also have other stuff in my personal pipeline that I’d like to work on first (if I can’t get “Real American” out for 4th of July, I’m going to have to leg drop myself), but I think it’s fair to say that I’ll use this list as a “jumping off point” for future projects, and will ping anybody/everybody who has expressed interest in collaborating on specific songs when that time comes. I’ll update the list if/when stakes get claimed on specific songs and active work begins to avoid any redundancies in work.

                    Thanks all!

                    * Or am I? (cue evil laugh)

That’s awesome that so many are jumping on board. I think it’s that a lot your song “requests” are great songs that people enjoy for various reasons and know they would be fun to play in a group setting, which I believe is what makes Rock Band such a great package.

This is probably the best, and most recognizable request list I’ve ever seen. I think it’s songs like these that make the game better for everybody and they’ll NEVER get played out. Hats off to everybody for teaming up and keeping the music alive and thriving!

This is by far the best request list I have seen to date as well. I could have marked these exact songs down as songs I would like to see in RB. I usually don’t read long request lists like these but this one I couldn’t stop reading. I hope they all get done.

That’s okay…I usually don’t write long request lists like these!

p.s. Jimi369 forwarded me the GH convert of “What I Like About You” you did a while back (which I had completely missed). I extracted the midi, and combined it with The Romantics’ original recorded version (not the cover audio). Now I can see why they sued!
