Alright, so user Ejthedj and I have started work on a Rush Megapack. Farottone gave me access to his previously worked on Rush files to use a base charts, from which EJ and I will be bringing up to C3 standards with any needed chart fixing, reductions, and missing instruments.

The theme of the pack is in celebration of the R40 Tour currently going on. We plan to release a song from each of Rush’s albums, with the exception of live albums, or any albums already completely represented by HMX or C3. If time and/or effort permits, EJ and I would also like to release the entire remaining Clockwork Angels album (which we started months ago in the Other Customs area, but was never fine-tuned) as well.

Any album marked with a non checked box (ie, [ ]) is open for another author if they would like to help out with this. Any help would be a big boost in speeding up the process, and could allow Ej and myself to give some love to the Clockwork Angels album once the singles are done. Also, any open album will have listed the song Ej and I wanted* to do… but if another author wants to provide help, we’re likely very open to changing the song choice!

This list will be updated as we progress through the charting. Anything checked off already is something either Finished, in play-testing, or already started. As stated before, anything without a check is open if someone would like to help contribute. Assuming Far had started work on the project already, I can send you the base project to use as well.

If you have no pre-existing basis for it, I have an old Expert Drums only .rba of By-Tor that I have no idea where it came from, or even the quality therein (honestly don’t recall ever playing it).

While appropriating unprovenanced/uncleared charts isn’t a C3 thing, perhaps taking the tempo/meter map could save a little time. Um, if it’s any good.

I will always be open to taking a tempo map lol

I cannot remember off hand if Far has Fly By Night stuff in his collection, but if not I’ll be in touch when we get there and keep this in the back of my head. Thanks!

Although I love the entire Farewell to Kings album I would suggest Cygnus X-1 as the representative. Such a great epic track

I would stay very clear of that because the tempo mapping is just crazy.

Honestly, we wouldn’t mind doing Cygnus. Biggest problem is time.

Especially after everything with the RB4 announcements, we want to make sure everything gets out. I have my Journey pack I’m still working on, so I’m doing whatever to make sure both of these will be out. We haven’t started this album for the same reason we haven’t started La Villa or By-Tor. If time comes down to being an issue, we’d go with shorter songs to make sure everything gets out.

We have backups for the albums in question, but we were honestly just spitballing ideas on what we wanted to do. Cygnus would be weird if we didn’t do Book II from Hemispheres also, and we really want La Villa.

Just a thought on this… Whatever we do moving forward, things like full albums and discography are probably the safer things any author can work on once DLC has restarted, because clearly HMX will never do discographies of bands with 20+ albums and full albums are probably not coming back anyway. So, anythying not done before RB4 is out may still have value when after RB4 is out.
