      Hi folks,

I’ve got a lot on my plate over the next couple of months including some real world pet projects and some work-related training/events (not to mention upcoming C3 stuff), and they look to eat up a fair bit of my idle time. As such, rather than try and push out half-size-or-less RBHP releases, I’m going to still try and chip away at some tracks and hold off until I can get back on a ‘regular’ schedule.

I’ve spoken with some of the past contributors who have expressed a willingness to help me make up for any deficits after the fact, so we should still be able to get things out before RB4 release. My expectation is just that we’ll miss two or three scheduled releases. I may still crank out the one due for May 8th (it’s more or less complete minus testing) and just delay May 29 and the June release. Maybe one in July – I have to see how things go.

I appreciate your patience with this, and I’ll keep you posted if plans change. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

I promise it’s temporary — there’s no way I’d get this close to the finish line and not get it done. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif”>

Upd 4/29: If I can ask a favour from the community at large, since it saves me the headache of needing to do it down the road — I would appreciate it if you guys could take a run through the full list of songs and double-check that none of the songs I flagged as having no harmony parts actually have harmony parts. Thanks!

I’ll still be working on my 31 songs a month schedule to help get this project finished by RB4 release date.

Any new update on this project?

It would be sad if it never got completed <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

Dirty pool, Ruck. I like it.

Will we no longer have access to RBHP here at C3 after RB4 launches?

And I may have missed the story about how RBHP got HMX’s stamp of approval and therefore wants to feature RBHP’s work.

Good question. I don’t know the answer to that. I assume HMX would have requested it be pulled as far as the harmonies component. Just like with everything else, C3 doesn’t want to take away from HMX. Maybe harmonies on prior songs gets someone to buy RB4. And RBHP shouldn’t get in the way of that. But wait for answer from someone with more info.

HMX has openly stated they’re using the RBHP harmonies to upgrade the older songs. It may even be that the only reason they’re doing it is because RBHP was there for the taking.

Well, in that case, another mass download for me. (Well, just the one master file on RBHP: Wii, anyway)

I also have to wonder if once Harmonix upgrades the songs using RBHP, will the songs no longer be accessible (i.e. compatible) with Rock Band 3? That would really suck.

Why and how would the songs for RB4 affect the songs for earlier games? They’re not going to touch the existing songs that anyone playing RB3 can access. These updated songs will only be for RB4.

For the love of all that is holy would people please stop thinking Rock Band 4 uses the same files you have actually downloaded for Rock Band 3? If you buy Rock Band 4 you will have to download all songs you used to own for RB3 *in Rock Band 4 format*. Nothing is done to RB3 files, the only reason you can “keep” your bought songs is because you bought the license to those songs and the license give you access to Rock Band 4 files.

There are no plans to pull RBHP from circulation.

There are no plans to pull the RBHP tools from circulation (so people can continue to make and package their own upgrades).

There are no plans to leave RBHP unfinished.

There are plans to start pumping out the rest of Sideshow’s RBN Pro Drum upgrades so we can get that done before RB4. I had wanted that first release to be this week, but I’ve been under the weather, so I don’t have a release of the ‘size’ I quite wanted to yet. I will likely start rolling those out alongside the End of Days stuff.

I still intend to put out suitable pro guitar/bass and keys/pro keys upgrades, whenever I get them, going forward.

I may start authoring the odd RBN harmony upgrade for funsies.

I do not have a timeline for when the core RBHP project itself (legacy harmonies) will be ‘finished’ and released.

So you’re saying I won’t be able to connect my Xbox 360 to my Wii U via USB and transfer my customs and DLC to the Wii U and that RB4 won’t convert the customs and songs into Wii U RB4 format?!?!
