May 1, 2015 at 5:55 am #444240Wow, thanks for all your interest!
Please keep in mind it is still a work in progress.
I’ve already recieved some feedback which will help me make it better, but it’s far from good at this point.
The same but a bit worse applies to the Blues Brothers’ track.
Its main achievement is the ability to be heard within the game. Tempo map, tube lengths, pitches, missing notes -ugh-. Hurrah for decent headphones.
I’m working on getting all the songs in this thread up to “just poorly charted”-levels ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Still I hope you get enjoyment from them.
Looking forward to some more feedback.
May 1, 2015 at 6:56 pm #444298For Sledgehammer on drums, you’ve got snare hits charted to the yellow tom when they should be red. What you’ve charted as red should be double red-and-yellow-tom hits – those are “flams,” an extra-hard snare hit with both hands. Also, most of the blue cymbals are actually closed hi-hats, and should be moved to the yellow cymbal. The cymbal hits right before the green crash notes are open hi-hats (they make an extra “hissing” noise), so they can stay blue.
(A good rule of thumb is that most rock drummers will play steady hits on the hi-hat, with 1 or 2 snare and bass hits per measure. This is why so many Rock Band drum charts are full of yellow cymbal + red snare grooves. Unless the song has an unusually noticeable drum beat, it’s a pretty safe bet that most of the chart should look like this.)
May 1, 2015 at 8:41 pm #444316Thank you for your detailed feedback!
Troipoison gave me some pointers on the drums and most of what you wrote is fixed.
I really appreciate the extra info on how the drums work. I’ll try to incorporate your tips correctly.

There’s one RB CON link, but it is currently dead.

I would say there is little chance of me doing those bands you mentioned.
I saw you found my wishlist or what has turned into a big authors/Farottone thank you- and appreciation list.
Songs I do will be mostly from there.

The link works for me but if you can wait a bit longer: after I finish up on another Madness song I’m going back to older customs. The Blues Brothers’ track in its current state is really tough to recommend. I’ll send you a PM when I have a better version.

Hi, him and me both ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
I just made a schedule yesterday and I intend to get Red House out somewhere this August along with something else.
Now that I’m using midis it might actually work out. Having someone who could do Jimi’s guitar charts justice would be even better. Failing that: midi.
I’m hoping that and more experience will pay off.
Thanks for your (friend’s) interest
June 27, 2015 at 4:35 pm #449103Hi everybody,
Here is an impulse song. I thought of it when working on redoing my vocal chart for 99 Luftballons (for the custom by Funkydunkleman). I couldn’t think of the title but luckily there are search engines.
It’s one of those songs where the title is easily forgotten, but I believe that at the time it was an international hit for this German band.
Here is a youtube link to the clip to refresh your memory:
It’s not a song that I think is really fantastic. In fact I strongly dislike the singing style the lead singer uses and it isn’t a very complex song.
Still I think for its simplicity it’s a good party song for novices like myself.
It has a positive vibe and the singer can say “Michael Caine” near the end and score points for it.
What more could you want?
Enjoy!
