Some of these are in the database. But all songs listed here need work. When I actually release a song it will leave this list.

      11-17
Work in progress on adding vocals to AJFOne’s Hey Joe, by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The Harmonies are difficult for me but it’s slowly coming
      along.

When I’m done with those I’m finishing up the vocals on You Can Call Me Al, by Paul Simon. A highly capable and kind soul has offered to step in and help complete the custom, for wich I’m very grateful! Once the vocals are done I’m passing the song to her.

In between I’m doing House of the King, by Focus. Before seeing the Hocus Pocus performance I really only knew the song Sylvia. Since then I’ve listened to more of their songs and House of the King is the one I need in Rock Band the most right now. That accoustic guitar though, sheesh. Charting electric guitar is hard enough already <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Update 22-11-2015 uploaded to the database

Flute on Keys. No vocals, just claps and a short whistle at the end of the song to pass Magma Compiler.
I’m rather unsure about the guitar part.

      http://pksage.com/ccc/IPS/index.php?/page/index.html/_/house-of-the-king-r10113

Customs added to the database are:
Respect, by Otis Redding. The original to Arretha Franklin’s smash hit cover.
Easy but fun on vocals. Bass is simple but fun to play as well.

      http://pksage.com/ccc/IPS/index.php?/page/index.html/_/respect-r8928

House of Fun, by Madness. That one has been in charting hell for a long time. Glitching tempo maps forced me to redo most of the vocals a couple of times. I had a sort of fantasty rythm guitar part but ultimately went for a strongly reduced part, based on what I could actually hear.

      http://pksage.com/ccc/IPS/index.php?/page/index.html/_/house-of-fun-r9290

The Young Ones, by the Young Ones. Intro to the TV-series of the same name. Very short, more a novelty than anything else.

      10-2
With C3 closing down I wanted to give a salute in the form of a pack of songs.
It would have been three, but “Always Look On the Bright Side Of Life” was posted earlier today by Ultimate Ninja Mango. HIs version is probably better charted anyways, so no big loss. It just makes the pack more of a duet, really.

I’m posting “the roughs” as usual. When they have undergone more testing and and severe polishing I’ll make a thread in the Other Customs section, along with some more songs.

Part 1-3 TIm Hardin – How Can We Hang On To A Dream

      https://www.dropbox.com/s/xtek8u6thc9m0ae/Tim%20Hardin%20-%20How%20Can%20We%20Hang%20On%20To%20A%20Dream?dl=0

      RPP:
      https://www.dropbox.com/s/zypo95lr411061w/HCWHOTAD.zip?dl=0

      Notes:
Strings on guitar. I couldn’t really make out a guitar part and this seemed like a fun alternative.
Drum might have some wrong gems in there. It plays softly in the mix and I’m really unsure of the hi-hats I used.
Vocals are heavy on the slides. It might be too heavy. Before I charted almost everything (too) basic.
More testing and feedback will reveal if I’m on the right track with this.

Part 2-3 Queen – God Save The Queen

      https://www.dropbox.com/s/zt7v17n0q3js96x/GodSavetheQueen?dl=0

      RPP:
      https://www.dropbox.com/s/q641et2uw43oeos/GSTQ.zip?dl=0

No vocals, obviously, though I’m considering adding tubes and lyrics to sing along with the song.
No real bass. There are a lot of guitars in the mix and I tried to make for two fun to play parts.
I’m half expecting this to part of the Friday release so, “the pack” might get smaller still <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Part 3-3 Always Look on The Bright Side of Life
The version is slightly longer, with more of the credits banter, which doesn’t necessarily make it better.
I might finish it, but probably not, seeing how there is a good and complete version already out. Go look at Ultimate Mango’s thread!

Born in the USA (an -again- Ultimate Mango Custom)
      Vocals done. Working on guitar.

      8-16
Might have sort of accidentally brutally started charting vocals on Penny Lane as well.

      8-2
      The Beatles – Eleanor Rigby

After doing vocals for Hocus Pocus by Ghostbyob and Sideshow I did another impulse chart. So much for my schedule. It was a reaper file with only guitar, probably done by Blitzbob.
The chart jumped between instruments all the time. I’m thinking of bringing it back for keys, although I might choose to use that instrument track for ,,rhyth violin”. I tried to chart the higher noted intruments for guitar and the lower ones in the bass. Bass does have a couple of cords which is not common practice, but I didn’t really see another option.
It’s in the polishing stages. I hope it turns out alright though: I noticed the tempo map has some really weird markers. But Magma seems to accept it.

      stay tuned

      6-27
      Liquido-Narcotic

The link to the con will return when I have redone the vocals.
      https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xbhl04mfsrnpwuq/AABAwDkQvA4GZieP9-dKnMHka?dl=0
      rpp + audio:
      6-25
Reduced Magma errors to just one about drum notes taking too many ticks.
It turns out a beat was a bit shorter, even though according to Reaper, all measures started at 00.00.
I changed the beat and it passed, but all subsequent measures now start at 00.01.
the test version worked okay on vocals.
Back to the charting board -and Magma to correct the metadata.

      6-21
After finishing up on vocals for The Man Who Sold the World I worked on redoing vocals for 99 Luftballons.
Then I remembered a song that in my head is somehow connected to it.
I didn’t know the name but it turns out that is was Liqido with Narcotic.
As it happens it was already on my computer so I followed up on the impulse and now have charted most of the drums, guitar, bass and vocals for it.

      6-15

Hard at work at the -You hum it and I’ll smash your face in-pack.
Redoing vocals for 99 Luftballons and adding pitches to The Man Who Sold the World

      5-22
      [test version] Madness-Baggy Trousers

      https://www.dropbox.com/s/cq5m9r8ayhhebik/Madness-Baggy%20Trousers?dl=0

(if you get a blank screen, try opening the link in a new browser tab)

      Notes for Baggy Trousers:

Used a midi for the first time. And what a great and helpful midi it was. It’s a shame I don’t know who the author is.

No fantasy keys or harmonies on this one just yet.
I would like to have both Saxophone and pro keys later on (when I learn to do those).
I still need to test it, just like the updated version of Sledgehammer but no xbox just yet.
For the brave willing few: have (a House of) fun!

      04-25
An update after what seems like forever.
Test version of Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel (finally)

The link will return at a later time.

(if you get a blank screen, try opening the link in a new browser tab)

      Notes for Sledgehammer
Unpolished doesn’t begin to describe this custom, but it wouldn’t even be here without the help of Troipoison who contacted me this January asking me if I could find a use for some stems for Sledgehammer.
After dislodging myself for the ceiling and thanking him, I started over as the stems are shorter than the single version.

It’s neither the album nor the single version but the tracks are the basis for the song as it was released.
The song is shorter than the game says it is. The visualiser image does have the accurate info.
-The time error might stem from the fact that the audio used in reaper is the length displayed in Magma and the game.

      Improvements needed:

Audio– It needs to sound better, but that is not for me as I lack the skills to make it so.

Drums (tested)– I’m not sure about the choices I made for the gems. I don’t know a crash from my elbow and echo plates on drums don’t help. Here is hoping someone can help me improve this chart.
EDIT 4-26- Someone did <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> Next version will see a lot of blue cymbals changed into yellow ones and yellow toms in red ones.

      Keys (untested)
The gems I charted are not based on a pro-chart or even one instrument. It’s all fantasy and there are some experiments to see wether things work in the game (62.2.00 springs to mind).
Some gems/tubes might be too close to each other.

      Guitar (untested)
Probably too much switching of guitars on the fly. It was hard for me to tell which guitar to take and which was which as there are two or three different instruments in the mix.

      Bass (untested) Needs testing.

Vocals (tested) Some pitches might be off. Got to 98% on Vocals and 97% on Harmonies.
Some tubes could be shorter still.

Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy -cancelled

Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy was about ready to compile when it was made obsolete by the far superior version of Farottone. My project is cancelled, obviously.

What I was able to learn by comparing vocals is that my vocals need to start later.
I was using the spacebar because the scrub didn’t do it for me and I thought it was good.
It turned out Reaper plays sound a fraction before it actually would play.
This means going back to redo my previous work, which isn’t a bad thing.
Tubes can be shorter as well, so I’m on it.

Shake It Off – Vocals done.
Taking much longer than I had hoped or anticipated. The vocals and harmonies for Shake it Off have been sent to Tails4Eva who will post when he is ready updating the song.

      misc.
-found stems for Golden Years by David Bowie (woohoo).
-Charted vocals for You Can Call Me Al

      12-28
Vocal overhaul of Hold on I’m comin. The test version showed a lot of flaws.
Finally got back to Red House. Vocals redone and working on a new drum track. Left the time signature at 4/4 instead of 8/12.
Peter Gabriel-Sledgehammer: first draft Vocals done (no Harmonies yet), working on drums.

      12-9
Sam & Dave – Hold On! I’m Comin’

Trumpet and saxophone on keys. The Kick pedal parts are iffy at best. To me they sound more like bass parts (and they are charted as such) but in every youtube drum video-cover of the song I see drummers using the pedal so I charted the pedal notes as well. It doesn’t strike me as a fun drum song to begin with, again, so apologies for that.
      Cut wet-vox for dry-vox.
Harmony One: Sam (Samuel David Moore).
      Harmony two: Dave (David Prater).

      (untested)test version (12-9):

made some updates to Soul Man as well, mostly album cover and metadata.

      12-08

Working on the reductions for Hold On! I’m Comin’ by Sam and Dave.
Need to finish cutting the wet vox for the harmonies.
      Struggling to finish GOFLB.

      11-23
Sam & Dave – Soul Man

      Trumpet on keys.
Harmony One: Sam (Samuel David Moore).
      Harmony Two: Dave (David Prater).
      Cut wet-vox for dry-vox.
The audio really should be remixed to bring up the bass, which is fun to play, but I currently lack the skills to get anything but a distorted mess in Audacity.
Vocals need more testing (pitches in both vocals and harmonies).
      Drums untested.

      test version (12-9):

      Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy:
      unpaused and working on it.

      11-20
      Paused GOFLB with Harmonies done.
Soul Man by Sam and Dave.
Charted Expert Guitar, Bass, Keys(trumpet) and Vox plus two Harmonies. Found a sustained note which shouldn’t be one which turned out to be two measure points at the same space.
Currently in the process of redoing vocals and harmonies because of this.
      Drums partially charted.

      11-14
Working on Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy from the Queen album A Day at the Races.
Vox, guitar, drums done. Working on Bass and Keys.

Screamin’ Jay Hawkins – The Whammy

      Test version
      29-10

      29-10
Status: Struggle on some pitches. Thought of unpitching some of the shouted lyrics but decided to keep plodding and will continue to do so for a while. Solved an issue with Magma forcing a wrong picture into the con-file.
Initial tests on vocals, bass and guitar. Chuckled at the Visualiser Halloween easter egg.[/url]

      27-10
Status: charted Vox, Bass, Drums, Guitar and Keys, had no room left for the sax. Thought of adding it to guitar to give it some extra but decided to go for the guitar-like instrument/banjo(?) in the background.
Magma was giving me a hard time about non existent pro-keys. Deleted the muted empty midis in order to get a pass. The test of the midi kept giving errors but the build option worked and produced a con.
      Testing on 28-10-2014

The Blues Brothers – Everybody Needs Somebody To Love

      Test version:

Status: On hold. In need of new time signature and improvements.

      15-10-2014
      Blues Brothers- E.N.S.t.L.
Fixed most of the disappearing lyrics in the intro, save for -ni-ty in the word community. Utterly annoying.
Fixed some pitches and simplified some pitched words.
Hid some Harm 3 vocals. Unmuted the count-in (noob)
      13-10-2014
      Blues Brothers- Everybody Needs Somebody
Vocals need work. Got to 84% on expert but some pitches are off and some lyrics in the Elwood intro are still missing.
Need to test bass, drums and keys. Guitar Has some floaty note bits and the bridge…well from a guitar tutorial I know what I should be hearing but I can’t hear it.
The song needs mixing in order to get a better feedback on some instrument sections in order to be more fun to play.
I left this for later or someone who knows how to get it right.

      12-10-2014
Red House is on hold-It’s a twelve bar song and I incorrectly tempo mapped it in 4/4.
Lowered vocal pitches even further. At first I charted bass with chords which I thought I heard but removed because it’s bass. Turns out it was a rythm guitar with bass tones (d’oh)
It will still be finished but needs a lot of work (again)
As an alternative I’ve done another custom.

Full Band with trumpet and saxophone on keys.
The first tests have been positive, save for some floating guitar notes and missing vocals text in harmonies. The dollar sign I intended for hiding overlapping lyrics shows up in the scrolling text. I had to delete some practice session markers in order to pass through Magma.
More testing is needed (drums, vocal pitches, bass). But if all goes well I might post a test version tomorrow.
      21-09-2014
New visualiser image. I liked the old one better, but I can’t stand shifting cover art between songs of the same album.
Lowered vocals in pitch and dealt with many new alignment errors.
Redid easy Guitar and Bass because CAT had left them an empty wasteland.
      To do:
Loads of touches. I don’t know how I’m going to fix up the tempo map yet.
Need to redo drums and guitar, add animations.

      17-09-2014
After getting a lot of grief and fortunately some well placed directions from Magma C3 a con was compiled and tested.
It was great to finally hear Red House being played ingame. Other than that, it’s a bit of a train wreck.
Some vocals don’t register or are off-pitch and some hyphenation errors in need of fixing persist.
Still, it’s somewhat cathartic to fail out on a song you’ve worked on yourself, I guess.
Tested Guitar and Bass on expert in practice mode. Strangely enough, red- and to a lesser degree yellow fret hits only register as misses. I suspect it might be related to the dodgy tempo map. I need to test more. I don’t think it’s the guitar, since the game registers the frets being pressed down.
      Back to the drawing-/tempo mapping-board.

      13-09
discovered errors during guitar charting. A lot of notes are charted before the marker e because the markers are sometimes placed too much in the middle of a peak. Especially in Guitar the grid seems to have been more of a starting point than a goal.

Drum and bass charted but in need of revision. Wrongly charted the hi-hats hits to blue cymbals.
update 06-09 Drums revised but kept the hi-hats on blue for the time being. Changed grid from 1/16 to 1/32 in order to be able to chart some notes. Finally got Reaper to recognize Python, did some reductions on drums.
13-09 reductions on bass as well.

A rudimentary guitar charted for timing but I need more knowledge on how chords work and how they are represented in the game (extracted some dlc-tracks to study in Reaper). Not having guitar in the final .con is not an option. (edit 9/9: but it’s kicking my ass).
update 13-09 slow progress on guitar. I will continue charting despite the flaws in the tempo map.
It’s irritating that the notes don’t line up perfectly to the grid, but I will correct that at a later time.
I want to be able to have a test version on the x-box in a couple of days. I found a Fof version of a live performance which I will have a look at for inspiration and in hope of finding/stealing some solutions.
update 16-09 Test version compiled. Used CAT for reductions, but in a glance especially the easy track needs re-adding of notes.

Charting (mostly) pitched vocals. Note lenght and placement done. About half way done with the pitching and correcting. It’s Interesting and sometimes a little painful to notice how my perception of pitch varies from day to day.
      Update 30-08:
first draft pitching and correcting finished. Now for another round of corrections in super zoomed in mode.
Update 06-09: lots of corrections. Brought some sections down in pitch after viewing some Harmonix charts.
update 13-9: more corrections and pitch changes.
update 16-09: changed the tubes to correspond to the grid (1/128) in order to get Magma to accept the song and to preserve some of the time I have left on the planet.

It wasn’t my first choice to start charting with attempting a Hendrix song , but the tempo map was relatively painless (13-09: or not : ) and that is wat stopped earlier attempts at arguably easier songs.
I don’t expect it to be done anytime soon (limited skills and time) but when it is at least playable I will post a test version plus the reaper file. Feedback and suggestions will be welcome and needed.

It’s way too early to seriously think, let alone talk about future projects, but if it ever comes to that, there will probably be some songs from my wish list (http://www.pksage.com/ccc/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2077#p22150) and possibly some dutch language songs nobody cares about but which might get some more people over here to play.

I’ll try my best to give something back after enjoying the countless hours of hard work by the custom-makers.

Good luck! Don’t know the song, but I’ve enjoyed drumming most Hendrix, so I’ll be sure to check it out when it’s time.

          Thank you, I’ll need it <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

It’s a blues song and this isn’t one of those songs where Mitch Mitchell gets to pull out all the stops, so neither will the player on drums.

It does have a bit at the end where there is some fire though.

Here is a video of the song:

I’m still unsure if the bpm in the end stays the same/should stay the same and wether or not to keep the charted midi notes for that section, or change it into a tiny big rock ending. (Suggestions are very welcome)

Thank Geoff for the tutorials and RBN documentation.

I hope you will be able to enjoy playing the final version.

Thank you, hope you’ll enjoy it.

Keep in mind that it’s not done yet and please redownload before Saturday because I left the Dryvox files unmuted for this version so the sound is off. I’ll post a new version today when I get home from work, with some fixes to boot.

I have plans to do drums for the studio version of Hey Joe and Burning the Midnight Lamp. Would you be willing to other instruments?

Thank you, hope you’ll enjoy it.

I just went to get the updated version and it looks like you uploaded the “.c3” file instead of the con file when you re-uploaded.

You’re right, I’m sorry about the mistake.

The new file can be found here:

Thanks, I hope he’ll be able to enjoy it in it’s current rough state.

The dryvox files need to be redone. Now they’re just cut jobs from the original mix.

I don’t know if they really affect scoring on vocals, but I got to 92%. The pitches still need work as well.

I’m not even going to talk about the other instruments.

Update in the first post. I really had fun working on the Soul Man song, which I absolutely love.

Testing was fun, even though the real testing has yet to begin.

To anyone downloading: hope you have fun with it and please let me know if you think something needs changing.

                          An update? Really?

This is untested save for vocals and being taken apart by the Spanish Inquisition our dear friend Magma.

Cool Blues Brothers, but it looks like the con file doesn’t work.
