March 27, 2014 at 8:38 pm #416407Thanks, unfortunately I still do not have a PS3 to test these on ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” /> I can take a look at the files, but there’s only so much I can do without a system…Sorry!
Is there anyway of knowing if the xbox files work on the xbox for Hold My Hand? I tried both and neither get past the selecting difficulty setting. Or if anybody else has it working on there ps3. I cant get the Report Song Issues to work. is there a discussion thread about success of songs?
March 27, 2014 at 8:51 pm #416408Update: I tested the song only with vocals and it went all the way to the end, but when I try to play it with guitar/bass or drums, song sounds very bad on some parts like it has corrupted parts. Even on vocal track you can hear like “cracking” noise.
March 27, 2014 at 9:26 pm #416411You need to take a breath, and relax.
We are a group of Xbox 360 players. All of the admins only play on Xbox 360, and yours truly, who creates the tools we use here, only plays on Xbox 360.
We wanted to include everyone else, so we made it possible for PS3, Wii and Phase Shift players to enjoy our songs, but that’s like 1% or less of our population that plays with anything besides an Xbox 360. So the Bug Tracker is set up for reporting bugs on the Xbox 360 versions of the songs only – the bug tracker is to let the authors know of a problem with the song itself, not a problem with the conversion to a console the author probably doesn’t even own, much less know about using customs in.
Any problems with another console, take it up with the person who converts them. In this case, that’s TDCMark, and unfortunately, his PS3 lasted only long enough for him to figure out how to get customs out there, and then it broke. So he can’t check anything in game at the moment.
Don’t worry, the Xbox files work. They go through playtesting, and even if we release something with a problem by mistake, our hundreds of downloaders would have brought it up. If the problem is for a PS3 user who just started trying customs and still learning, assume (as we will) that it’s user error and not a problem with the files.
And again, have patience.

Also, I merged this topic with the PS3 customs thread. That’s not a song problem, that’s a PS3 problem.
March 27, 2014 at 9:43 pm #416417Like Nemo said, please keep all issues to this thread. I’m always watching it, so if it gets posted somewhere else, there’s a good chance I’ll miss it. Feel free to keep posting issues. That’s the only way I’ll know if something’s broken. Until I have a working PS3 again, though, everyone will have to wait.
I’m hoping to have my PS3 back within the next week, just waiting on the repair guy to fix it. Sorry folks, like I said, I’ll look at the files on my end, but that’s about all I can do.

Thanks for testing it. As for the song on PS3… not sure. Both the PS3 files and the converted xbox files give the same error and kick me back out to the library. “Hold my Hand” previews when highlighted in the library list, allows you to select it, but once you’ve picked your difficulty it throws you back out to the library with an error. Next time I compile(merge) a new list I will include it again to get the exact error message, but it was something like unable to play song. It wasn’t the same error given that an non authorized rock band dlc would give.

And again, thank you very much for your work and including PS3 users in this project!
March 28, 2014 at 9:30 am #416458Have you tried reconverting it with the PS3 converter?

Yes I tried reconverting it twice, and I also deleted ps3 song folder and removed song from the song list, but that didn’t help. I first thought that song didn’t fully download, cause that’s how it sounds like when you play it inside game (like when your .mp3 song didn’t download completely, and then you get skipping noise).
Anyways it’s not big deal that few songs are not working on ps3, it’s just for info to maybe try to solve the problem that may appear in future releases of songs.
March 31, 2014 at 6:14 pm #416673Song from Linkin Park “Burning in the Skies” gives me the same problem as Maroon 5 – She will be loved, song sounds like corrupted then everything freezes, and all you can do is turn off ps3.
If anyone else from ps3 users can test those song would be cool, to see if it’s only problem on my ps3.
March 31, 2014 at 10:44 pm #416688Thanks. Seems like the commonality between the two Maroon 5 songs and the Linkin Park song is that they’re converts by GHtoRB3. The audio must be corrupt somehow, which is odd that they seem to work fine on the other systems. I’ll try rebuilding the audio when I get my PS3 back.
As well as getting this weeks release up (apologies for the wait, didn’t have any time over the weekend due to work), I also fixed any links that weren’t working due to apostrophes in the file name.
March 31, 2014 at 10:55 pm #416689Hello
I am having a few issuses adding songs to my working Ps3 songs list. My working current songs are in my “merged songs” folder with the “songs.dta” file.
I received a few xbox cons of songs. I used “con explorer” to extract the songs(few were multi packs). I got a folder which had a “root” folder and images, then song data within “root” folder.
When I go to merge the songs using “ps3 converter”, I get a fault saying “root folder already exits, skipping”
Not sure what I am doing wrong. Thought this is how I extracted and used the cons the first time.
I tried using the cons directly in ps3 converter, its worked but it mixed up the files with each multipack of songs and they were unplayable. But the single song’d cons converter fine.
March 31, 2014 at 11:08 pm #416690The “Merge Songs” function only works on pre-converted songs (ie the rar files posted on the database). You’re going to have to “de-pack” the multi song CON, as the PS3 converter doesn’t work with multi song CON packs. Luckily, the Quick Pack Editor will do this for you. Drop your multi song CON into the Quick Pack editor, press dePACK, and voila. From there, you should be able to convert each CON into the PS3 format.
If anyone likes The Beatles, I’d suggest you look at this thread, and go to the spreadsheet. You’ll noticed some PS3 links ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

No problem, I’ll try to download few other song he made and let you know if same problem happens.
for delay for this week releases, in my case I’m using cons and convert them on my own anyways ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
April 2, 2014 at 2:36 pm #416812Update: I’ve tested this other converts from GHtoRB3:
Radiohead – High And Dry – works fine
Run-DMC – It’s Tricky – works fine
Placebo – Battle for the sun – works fine
Linkin Park – Given Up – works fine
Taylor Swift – We Are never ever getting back together – works fine
Muse – Starlight – works fine
April 2, 2014 at 2:38 pm #416813The Maroon 5 song is mine. Still makes no difference. It works fine on the Xbox.
Why are you referring to two Maroon 5 songs? I searched the thread and only She Will Be Loved is mentioned.
EDIT: Also tested the Linkin Park song, works fine on the Xbox. So you’re going to need other PS3 players to confirm whether it’s broken for them or just for you.
