December 2, 2014 at 2:29 pm #433826So reading the last several posts, is this thread currently the repository for info on getting RBHP to work on PS3?
I think it’d be best to split that into a separate thread. regular customs are pretty drag-and-drop and basically ready for prime time whereas the RBHP stuff still requires a bit of work.
Do we have a forum mod that can/would split this thread and pull out the relevant posts into a new thread? If not, I don’t mind trying to write a quick summary and link to the interesting bits here.
December 5, 2014 at 2:16 am #433917So since i managed to mess up those 2 legit songs… even after re-installing. Is it possible that someone could tell me how to change there song ids to see if that fixes the issue?

You can add a couple of letters to it. Then run the DTA through the Batch tool and it’ll assign a new numeric ID. This makes sure you don’t end up with a duplicate ID. You can also try changing the path name on the PS3 FTP and change it accordingly in the DTA file (i.e. foowalk to foowalk2 or whatever).December 5, 2014 at 3:03 am #4339224 – To restore a song that isn’t working, simply changing the song ID should work. Please tell me.
December 5, 2014 at 7:50 pm #433946That’s what I was hoping, but I don’t know where/how to change the song ID. Please tell me.Open the songs.dta file. Find the line that says (song_id idgoeshere). Change the ID manually or like I suggested, add a letter to it and then run the DTA through PS3 Converter’s batch tool to issue numeric IDs.
For our PAL users, I need you to search your PS3’s HDD and list the folders used by Rock Band. On NTSC systems, these three folders contain all the RB games and exports:
dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30050
dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30147
dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30463
Would love your help in getting those folders for a PAL system.

December 5, 2014 at 8:49 pm #433951Just by using a text editor and saving it?yup, they’re just plain-text files. just don’t use something funky like word – notepad or some other simple editor (vim ftw!)
December 5, 2014 at 9:25 pm #433955Just by using a text editor and saving it?Sorry, I assumed we were on a different level. Yes, .DTA files are just text files. I use and recommend Notepad++ for editing in Windows, since it allows you to expand and collapse the brackets in the DTA files and it’s generally a very good program for editing plain text.
December 6, 2014 at 10:48 am #433977Well I tried adding the 2 songs via merged songs folder and successfully assigned new ids. Yet both still gave me the unable to play skipping. Odd.
December 6, 2014 at 9:50 pm #433988Hey TrojanNemo, I’ve been away for some period of time, saw you have released new version of con tools, and it’s working great, even tho I didn’t have any duplicate Id’s. The thing I have a question is why is song ID skipping numbers if you for example delete one song from your song list? For example song id is 1077700370 and if I delete that song from the list, the next time I merge new song it will have id as 1077700371 even tho the last song in the list will have id as 1077700369. It won’t check that next available id is again 1077700370, and it just continues to count up… if you delete song twice it will have id as 107700372. Will it use those free id’s if for example there will be so many songs that it will look for free id’s or something?

Let’s say you have a friend that you convert and send the PS3 songs to. Then you delete one you didn’t really like. If it was re-using the old ID, the next song you converted would use that ID, and when you sent the song to your friend, they would have an ID conflict. Now imagine you’re the friend, and you move songs in and out of the songs.dta because you have too many, or for whatever reason, then you’re opening yourself to ID conflicts.
So that’s why. Don’t worry, you can each have 99,999 songs that way. I think that’s more than enough ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
December 7, 2014 at 2:29 pm #434008After some admin discussion, I’m likely going to spin up an RBHP subforum under the Other Customs forum. When that’s done, someone (whoever wants to manage it) can create a RBHP on PS3 discussion thread and I’ll sticky it.
I expect it to be relatively low traffic but I think it makes sense to have it (esp. for release threads + troubleshooting + another outlet for feedback/bug reports/suggestions) and to give the Wii/PS3 setups/instructions their own place.
