Here’s a link to proposed update for C3 CON Tools. It’s mainly to re-do and improve the issues with the PS3 songs.
http://keepitfishy.com/d.php?54702ae0e2e7d
The way I went about it, the code is now ported over from Magma, so we’re moving on from 7 digits to 10 digits. As tested by hamburgerjung before, up to 12 digits saved scores on PS3. On Xbox, only up to 10 digits in a specific range work. So by default if it works on Xbox, it should work on PS3.
This new system will require you to obtain your author ID, which is your profile ID here. You can get it by clicking on Profile at the top of the forum page. You only need to do this once. The process will skip songs that already have numeric IDs (i.e. were created with the new Magma OR were ran through the batch process, as well as ignore DLC and RBN songs, to avoid in-game conflicts/breakage). You can also run the batch process over a merged songs.dta file that has both already replaced IDs and original IDs, only those without numeric IDs will be touched. So you can merge, then batch, and not have to worry about previously batched songs.
At least, that’s how it should work in theory. In my limited testing here, it works. But I don’t have a PS3. Try it out, run it in game. Let me know if it’s good and I’ll release the update. Or let me know if something needs adjusting.
Thanks!
November 22, 2014 at 11:41 am #433372Thanks Nemo for your huge effort! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
I’ll test things asap but I guess it’ll be not finished until Monday.
So please stay patient…
November 23, 2014 at 8:22 pm #433410Sorry if this has been covered, but!
Hello all! Extremely new to the Rock Band scene, and actually I am adding songs to my brothers PS3 (and neighbors) for a Christmas present (they both LOVE the game!). My question is quiet simple and hopefully very easy to answer.
Title Update #4… can I update the game to the fullest or do I have to find this online somewhere? Everything I am finding for Updates are for Xbox 360, and not PS3!
I already have the PS3s hacked, I have yet to steal the game from my brother to make sure some customs work, I just am trying to do some pre-planning for a game plan on this!
Thanks! Again, the PS3 is already hacked with 4.65 HABIB, I’ve installed a bunch of ROCKSMITH songs and I understand the whole “Download the SONG from PSN FIRST!”, but can I update the game? Or does it HAVE to to be Title Update 4 (For PS3)

What do you mean with “Update #4”?
If you are talking about the game update: This will be installed whether you are logged into PSN or not as long as there is a working internet connection.
If you have purchased any songs from the PSN you can download it from there after you hacked your PS3.
There are tools to hide your CFW but you have to know it’s on your own risk, because the console can be banned by Sony anyway.
November 24, 2014 at 7:31 pm #433441Oh I know all about console banning and everything about this, my question is about this
Rock Band 3 Xbox 360 Title Update #4 Download (Works with Custom Created Songs)
The more I read into it, it seems like the PS3 doesn’t have this problem as the 360 doesn’t have to be hacked, and the Title Update #5 fixes customs on the 360 from being played.
For the PS3, I can just simply update the game to whatever is the newest update, right?
^That was my question ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
November 24, 2014 at 10:35 pm #4334511.05 is the latest update I believe.
Updates can be downloaded and installed as package on your JB PS3 w/o going online using this update finder.
You can find it here

November 25, 2014 at 1:34 am #433456Testing this evening.
Early indications are that the batch job still has to be run.
In other words, the merge does not do the numeric conversion.
Not a huge issue, just need to note the extra step needed when merging new items into your library.
I’ll get some details up this evening or tomorrow.
November 25, 2014 at 2:19 am #433459Sorry for the long post, but I want to make sure TrojanNemo has enough feedback on this latest change.
1. Restored my PS3 gamesave to ‘pre-C3’ state (I made a backup before trying customs)
2. Restored the HMX0756 directory to original 9 song state (backup)
3. Verified RB3 loaded correctly w/o customs
4. Started new CON Tool using my ID on first prompt and #1 (default) on 2nd prompt.
5. Merged 642 virgin songs from the entire, pre-Genesis, library straight from the PS3 part of the database. NO BATCH ID CONVERSION WAS RUN
6. After saving a backup of songs.dta, the batch job to change to numeric was run. The resultant file was a different size, and a subsequent file compare showed that the merge operation DID NOT alter the song ID to the new format. However, the batch job did appear to reassign a song ID with my forum ID as a prefix. My assumption is that after merging, we are still required to run the batch job, correct?
7. I ran the batch job on the file again and did a file compare. This time they matched. This indicates you are indeed ignoring the songs that were already processed.
8. After noting that I needed to run the batch job each time I add a group of songs, I repeated steps 1-5, with a fresh C3 Tool install (index reset to 1), finishing with a batch numeric change on all 642. A quick check of the ID’s indicated that after the batch, all, including the 9 original Harmonix songs were changed. One of the songs in the 642 must’ve had a number already because my end ID number ended with 650, not 651 (642 + 9). A little investigation here showed that ‘Daft Punk-One More Time’ already had a numeric ID. This makes sense since hamburgerjung just fixed this one. So there are apparently some converts in the database with numerics already.
9. Transferred these and tested ‘Adele – Rolling in the Deep’ and ‘Raconteurs -Consolers of the Lonely’
10. Saves were confirmed to work.
11. Merged 29 Genesis songs. Checked songs.dta after, and all 29 had alphanumeric id’s.
12 Ran batch and verified the 29 Genesis songs had numerics starting right where the index stopped.
13. Transferred these and verified that songs in step 9 were still saved.
14. Played ‘Abacab’ and verified save was working.
Not an exhaustive test, but the songs.dta file looks solid with this approach.
So the fix seems to work ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
Each week, or whenever new songs are desired for us PS3 folks,
Download desired PS3 songs (or CON’s and convert)
Merge them
Run the ID batch job
FTP them to the PS3
Thank you TrojanNemo!!!
November 25, 2014 at 3:40 am #433463However, the batch job did appear to reassign a song ID with my forum ID as a prefix. My assumption is that after merging, we are still required to run the batch job, correct?I think I mentioned it somewhere already. In my head, it made more sense to batch replace prior to merging. But I can easily make it do it while merging.

Sounds good.
including the 9 original Harmonix songs were changed.
That should not have happened. It’s supposed to skip DLC/RBN IDs as well as customs already with numeric IDs. Send me the DTA for those songs so I can take a look at why it overwrote them.

Good. Good.
Each week, or whenever new songs are desired for us PS3 folks,
Download desired PS3 songs (or CON’s and convert)

FTP them to the PS3
It really looks like merging should do the IDs. I’ll work on that.
November 25, 2014 at 5:23 am #433464And it’s done. Next version will have it batch replacing when you do a batch merge. Waiting to get those official songs from Gep to see why they got edited before putting this up.
November 25, 2014 at 5:25 am #433465Thank you Gep (and everyone!). Ill have to “sneak borrow” the game and a mic to test to make sure that I am importing songs properly. As I am completely brand new to this and this seems much more complicated than Rocksmith (which is fine!), I would hate to give my brother and the neighbors broken songs because of my negligence on how to import them to the PS3! Ty Gep for the steps!
I’m sure that they will love this Christmas give, mwaha!

I’ll have a look on it as well when I find some time to do…
November 25, 2014 at 2:53 pm #433476I think I mentioned it somewhere already. In my head, it made more sense to batch replace prior to merging. But I can easily make it do it while merging.
It’s probably a subjective thing. I have been downloading songs and putting them into the ‘Songs to Merge’ folder.
From there, I merge and hit the resultant songs.dta file with the batch numbering.
If you batch replace before merging, you have to hit each song’s DTA file individually, correct?
Not bad for 5 or 6 songs, like for a weekly release, rough for 600+ if you’re like me and just getting into this. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
including the 9 original Harmonix songs were changed.

I wondered about that. I’ll get those posted this evening.
Happy to rerun the test to verify the renumbering occurs during merge, if that’s what you end up doing.
Thanks again for your help on this!

All 9 were hit with renumbering by the new batch job. Possibly digit count (3)?
November 25, 2014 at 10:31 pm #433484Well I was hoping for the actual songs.dta file, the original, unedited one. You can either upload it somewhere and give me a link or copy/paste the entire thing in between the [ code ] [ / code ] tags so it doesn’t take up the entire screen.
