Sorry again for being away so long…work and life caught up with me again. Still don’t have a PS3, but it shouldn’t be too much longer. Just took a look at stairway to heaven, and I remember that being a song that worked for me in the past…so for it to not work all of the sudden is very bizarre.

 

I want to point out that any time I would get the “unable to load song, skipping” error, it was due to a file being renamed, or a mismatch in file name and dta. I would assume no one is renaming any files, but I know that can be a factor. I’ll take a look at the other songs and see if anything jumps ou.t

 

As for the corrupt audio songs, I can’t seem to see any problems with the audio on my computer. Could be a problem with the milo file, so I’ll try and find an official 360 milo file to compare.

 

Not much help, but I’ll keep trying today. Might be handy to have a guinea pig to experiment with (someone I could chat with over skype and give them files to play with). So if anyone would be willing to do that, let me know

I had the “unable to load skipping song” error on Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin and through some experimenting got it working. There is some error in the EDAT encryption in the C3 Con tools on Stairwaytoheaven.mid.edat. I fixed it by manually encrypting the Stairwaytoheaven.mid from the con file with Trueancestor EDAT Rebuilder and it played flawlessly. I would post the fixed EDAT but don’t know how. So if the song has the above error it may be because of incorrect EDAT encryption.

Good to have you back. I’m not sure the problem is in milo file with the songs that stuck in middle with corrupted sounds, as I’ve done some testing before and copied only .mogg file in the beatles “yellow submarine” folder, and song played fine until the same problem appeared and got stuck in the middle with corrupted sounds. So there was none original file from corrupted song exept .mogg.

 

Also for the songs with “unable to load song skipping” problem, your fixed edat file fixed the song “Hold my hand”, on the other hand someone said that if you convert same song with midi to edat encryption type2 that trojannemo made, didn’t fix the problem.

Can you check you PM? I’d like to test it on my own and with the other songs that gives me problem. The thing where I get stuck in trueancestor is that I don’t know the klicence. I choose encrypt file to edat option, then I load original .mid file, I put content ID as UP8802-BLUS30463_00-RBHMXBANDCCFF0D6 and then I’m stuck at DEV_KLICENSEE cause I don’t know what to put there? I’ve tried encrypting with 00000000000000000000000000000000 and 72F990788F9CFF745725F08E4C128387 license but none of those fixed the song.

But I have to say I’m quite busy at the moment as well, so I cannot promise to test things always in time.

Sounds like a basic approach for our “skipping song” issue!

Thanks to all for this new idea.

I have tried it for all my “skipping songs” and it worked. Basically my process was as follows:

1. Convert the CON file to PS3 as normal.

2. I used EDAT Tools GUI from aldostools to Decrypt the EDAT file to a DAT file.

3. The keys and names to use are in klik.txt created by C3 tools.

4. I then used the Batch method of TrueAncestor EDAT Rebuilder, Option 2 encrypt file to EDAT using the same keys as above

 

All now work!!!

 

I am sure there is a simpler way and probably using a single tool but works for me!

You are describing using Encryption Type 2 that is in the latest version of C3 CON Tools.

Type 1 uses edattool.exe in the /bin folder.

Type 2 uses rebuilder.exe in the /bin folder (“TrueAncestor”).

Both use the same license file and rap file.

@Viperi The Content ID is set as UP8802-BLUS30463_00-RBHMXBANDCCFF0D6 and the Dev_Klic is 0B72B62DABA8CAFDA3352FF979C6D5C2 which took me awhile to figure out but is the same for all customs.

 

@Trojan I tried the EDAT encryption type 2 in C3 Con tools PS3 Converter on Stairway to Heaven but it would always says failed on the .mid to EDAT encryption part when using type 2 and that’s why I tried encrypting the .mid myself and it worked! Apparently type 1 encryption does something wrong and type 2 fails on that song and maybe others but I haven’t tested cause all my other customs are already in PS3 format and work fine.

It definitely shouldn’t be failing.
