Here is an updated tutorial for how to play customs on Xbox 360 since the other written/video tutorials are outdated.
================================
What you need:- Xbox 360: OS Version 2.0.17349.0 or higher (any update after April 30th, 2015)
- Physical copy of Rock Band 3 with EA logo on it. (Downloadable version and Disc with MadCatz logo won’t work)
- Flash drive
- C3 CON Tools
================================
Initial Setup
1. Plug your flash drive into your 360 and turn it on.
2. On the 360’s menu go to the Settings section then “System” > “Storage”.
- Go to USB Storage Device, press Y for “Device Options” and select “Format”.
3. Next select your Hard Drive and navigate to “Games and Apps” > “Rock Band”.
- If you see “Rock Band 3 Title Update #5” delete it*. If you don’t see it that’s fine it just means you never downloaded the update.
- [*OPTIONAL] If you plan on playing online (only purchased official DLC), instead of deleting Title Update #5, plug in a second formatted flash drive and move it onto there. Then you will be able to swap between a flash drive for customs and a flash drive for online play.
- Unplug your flash drive, and plug it into your computer.
4. On your computer launch C3 CON Tools and click the “RBtoUSB” button.
- Click “File” then “Open USB Drive”.
- Select your flash drive from the Drive Selector.
- Click “Tools” then “Copy TU4 to drive”.
Adding customs to your flash drive
1. Launch C3 CON Tools and click the “RBtoUSB” button.
- Click “File” then “Open USB Drive”.
- Select your flash drive from the Drive Selector.
2. Add songs by right clicking and selecting “Add files…” or by dragging the songs right into the RBtoUSB window.
- After the songs finish transfering, close RBtoUSB.
3. Plug your flash drive back into your 360, turn it on, and enjoy playing Rock Band 3 custom songs ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
- If you are still connected to the internet it will tell you an update is required for Rock Band 3. Just press B or select “Cancel”.

July 27, 2015 at 5:29 pm #451341Hey guys just a quick question I’ve added over 500 custom songs but I realized that I get no animations from the characters on the stage..they just stand and do nothing and the band mates just slowly walk into the crowd and stuff.. How can I solve this issue? Thanks

How can I solve this issue? ThanksWhere did you get those customs from? The ones you tried at least. Sometimes people release customs like that where the people on stage don’t do anything.
If you were trying C3 releases then that definitely shouldn’t be happening and you might be on the wrong Title Update for Rock Band 3. Are you using Title Update 4? I was told that if you are using Title Update 3 then that could be what’s causing that.
July 27, 2015 at 6:04 pm #451345You’re missing TU4.
July 27, 2015 at 7:19 pm #451353There are several other methods to updating the console as well in case you can’t/don’t use Xbox Live.
July 27, 2015 at 7:51 pm #451360You’re missing TU4.no I have it I’ve done everything correct since day 1 I download most from C3 and a few from the forums.. This is also happening to some of my DLC that I’ve bought.
July 27, 2015 at 8:12 pm #451364No, you do not have it. What you are describing is a textbook example of not having TU4. You may think you have TU4, hell, you may have a file that calls itself TU4, but you do not have TU4. RBtoUSB includes it…sort files on your USB by type and remove all title update file(s) you may have. Then click on Tools -> Copy TU4 to drive. Done.
July 27, 2015 at 8:29 pm #451365It could also be that your tu4 got corrupted and is ignored. That’s happened to me twice for no apparent reason. Copy again and it’s fixed.

Copy again and it’s fixed.If I look on my storage in my dashboard I do see a corrupted file but never knew what it was. I used party buffalo to inject the songs and title update 4 or supposedly. Is that the only file I should be deleting or the whole folder where I injected it? Then I just go to C3 and do it from there basically starting over?
July 27, 2015 at 8:56 pm #451367Replacing just the TU4 file worked for me. Twice ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif”>

How do i ReFormat the USB within the new Xbox update. i don’t want to delete all the songs I’ve already downloaded
July 30, 2015 at 12:17 am #451519Reformatting means you have to delete what you have on it. Copy whatever you have on the flash drive to the pc, reformat, then copy it back.
