    Can’t wait!

    #447554

Kinda wish I could make pro keys white and black, to give it the same colors as the game.

    Excited for vocal slides though.

I wonder how visible the black notes would be against that black background, huh ;-)

      #447668

But isn’t the Pro Keys background usually grey?

The color alternates so any one instrument’s color varies depending on other tracks on that song bring displayed.

I don’t see how this is better.

          #447771

Oh yeah, that’s why it’s sometimes grey

and yeesh, that seemed better in my head. How did it work in RB3 anyway?

Maybe with the key name on, it looks more tolerable, but then it would have to alternate black-on-white and white-on-black…

Problem is you’re forgetting RB uses three dimensional models with textures applied. This is literally one rectangle filled with color. It’s already implemented in the code as an option, sooo you’re going to have it in next update whether you want it or not :v:

Wait a minute, I thought the cPlayer and Rock Band 3 looked different, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. That’s what it is, one is a videogame with 3D graphics and one is a 2D visual representation of MIDI notes! Glad I got all that sorted out. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

                v2.2.0
                - Added feature to select a song at random - just click on the die picture when visible and cPlayer will select a song at random and start playing it
                - Added drawing of vocal/harmony slides - might be rough but should be decent enough
                - Added option to specify whether to display Pro Keys or 5-lane Keys MIDI visuals
                - Added option to specify whether to display Harmonies or PART VOCALS MIDI visuals
                - Added option to draw Pro Keys as black and white keys instead of showing the REAPER colors
                - Added option to force PART VOCALS to use the Harm1 color instead of the REAPER colors
                - Added ability to display all the detailed information that cPlayer has on a selected song - click on Playlist -> View selected song details or press Ctrl + I - more information is displayed if the selected song is the same song that is currently playing
                - Added option to upload screenshots to Imgur
                - Improved displaying of note names for Pro Keys, Harmonies and Vocals - no more ridiculously oversized text when only displaying Pro Keys or Harmonies/Vocals MIDI visuals and a font that is easier to read
                - Changed track background color during solos to one that is easier on the eyes
                - Changed track background colors for easier viewing of black and white Pro Keys and some other note colors
                - Fixed bug where pressing Next would sometimes play the audio from the previous song
                - Fixed bug where if you had selected to 'Display album art' and the song didn't have it, when going to the next song it would get stuck with both 'Display album art' and 'Display audio spectrum' options enabled
                - Fixed bug where the note range for PART VOCALS was always the same as the note range for harmonies
                - Fixed bug where selecting random colors would not change the color of PART VOCALS or Harmonies charts
                - Fixed bug where song's average BPM wasn't being read from the .playlist file
                - Some under the hood improvements

There’s some pretty significant fixes there…so I would suggest everyone updates. But then again, I always suggest that. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Well, cPlayer for my Phase Shift library and WinAmp for my “real” library. This is pretty darn cool! All that’s missing is Last.fm support (just kidding… or am I?)

                  #448627

cPlayer crashed! Please see the error log below:

I have win7x64 and can use C3CONTools and MagmaC3 ok, but this doesn’t even start. Do i need to register a dll or am i missing a file etc.

                  thanks.

That’s certainly a new one I haven’t come across. There’s nothing you should install, it’s self-contained besides typical Windows dependencies. You should have installed .NET Framework 4.0, but you need that for Magma: C3 and C3 CON Tools. In C3 CON Tools, can you play audio in Visualizer? When you click Save in Visualizer, does it upload the screenshot to Imgur successfully?

The error shows you’re missing something that cPlayer relies on, but it only relies on dependencies that should already be installed and what it comes with. Make sure you’re not extracting the .exe to an old installation and losing some of the new .dlls that come with it.

I know how much you all care :what: , so I thought I would update you on something I’ve been trying to work out on my end and it’s starting to look like I’m going to lose the battle.

The hard drive where all my programming projects were failed recently, and I have been unable to restore it. We believe the data is intact in the platters, but the PCB and/or firmware got damaged somehow. I’ve tried swapping the PCB with one from a brand new version of the same drive (Seagate 2T:cool:, and it didn’t work. So I ordered the exact PCB from a hard drive repair website. It also didn’t work. At this point, my only chances of getting this to work seem to be cleanroom platter reading, which runs upwards of $1000.

There are a lot of horrible consequences for the data that was not backed up, but what is relevant to this project is that the latest version of cPlayer’s source code had not yet been backed up. There is no way I’m going back and redoing all the work done in the last couple of updates, so if I can’t resurrect this hard drive, the current release of cPlayer will be its last. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

Damn man, I wish you the best of luck in getting it fixed! It’d be a shame if it had to stop for reasons other than you wanting to stop, but I understand there might not be anything you can do about it.

                      Again, best of luck!
