Regarding the remaining RBN 1.0 that need Pro Drums fixed. Is there a list of the remaining songs that need tom markers added? Since I own all the RBN I may be willing to contribute in adding pro tom markers on those remaining songs eventually.

You bought all ~ 2,000 RBN songs? How do you fit that with the game exports, track packs, customs and DLC?

I have 2 hard drives. One contains all the official Harmonix DLC and the other contains all the RBN. Both drives are around 2200 songs. I then have 2 hard drives for customs. One contains non full band and the other contains full band. Just reached 2952 full band recently so now I have to create a new drive for more full bands. I would love to have one drive with all 8000+ songs but the game just can’t handle it. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Sorry, but I have a total noob question. When downloading the recent updates do you have to go through the entire process again? Or do you just have to download the update and inject in party buffalo? I did the 10/31 master pack update and really would like to get the 11/21 update.

For harmonies, you have to go through the entire ~15m process again.

Sideshow: I had been looking at a master list at one point but the data I had was unreliable at best (I think I had pulled from DLC Quickplay and a couple of other spots). I suppose, in theory, we could put together a program to go through a bunch of song packages, rip out the .mids, check to see if there are notes on the animation markers we would normally put on toms, and check for the absence of pro notes in the tracks… but that seems like a lot of work.

I’d say the best bet is just have people say “I like to play this song and it is missing pro drums” and go from there. So, pro drum players, if you’re reading, maybe do that.

That actually shouldn’t take much more than an hour to accomplish <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

But I’m not sure how accurate it would be. I could swear I’ve seen some pre-RBN2.0 material with some pro markers and also with and without accurate animations as well.

If I’m ever feeling really bored I’ll just fire up the remaining RBN1.0 songs one by one in game on Pro Drums and just see which ones need it. You are correct TrojanNemo that there are some pre RBN2.0 songs that were authored for Pro before RB3 came out but I don’t remember which authoring companies did them. Sounds like a project I may tackle sometime next year.

If it hit 95% of them, it would hit 95% of them, you know?

And the coding is a factor (obviously you’ve dabbled with this stuff so it’s probably second nature), but I haven’t, and pulling all the LIVE/CON files off drives and feeding them into it is going to be a reasonable time sink too. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif”>

Well, I have all DLC and my few RBN tracks backed up on my PC. Sounds like Sideshow does too, so that wouldn’t be too hard. And all the code needed for this is already found in one way or another in C3 CON Tools. So it’d probably take me one hour to start a new project and copy/paste the code, or 30 minutes to just add the feature to one of the tools in C3 CON Tools. Just say the word :haw:

Something to potentially bake into MIDI analyzer as a one-of tool? “Has pro animations but no pro notes”?

Song Analyzer already tells you whether a song has pro markers and whether it has drum animations. Separating the drum animations into a yes/no for pro markers would take me 2 minutes. So I’ll add that.

But based on what you said, it sounds more like you’d need a batch job that would either 1) separate the files into two folders or spit out a text list with the files that do and do not have pro drums listed.

EDIT: I’d need to know which drum animation notes I should rely on to determine if the animations have pro markers. Are we going based on whether if these notes are present, we deem that “pro animations”?

                        51 D#2 = Floor Tom hit w/RH

                        50 D2 = Floor Tom hit w/LH

                        49 C#2 = Tom2 hit w/RH

                        48 C2 = Tom2 hit w/LH

                        47 B1 = Tom1 hit w/RH

                        46 A#1 = Tom1 hit w/LH

Those would be the ones I would look for, yeah. Maybe 32 (Percussion RH) but I can’t recall if I’ve seen that mapped to pads or not.

Just wanted to say that I have seen RBN1 songs with fully done tom animations but no Pro markers, so just be careful about that so there won’t be any accidental labeling

Accidental labeling of what? Not sure what you think we’re talking about here. This is about a tool to try and catch as many rbn songs missing pro drum markers. Even if it mistakes a song here and there, it’s not going to affect anyone other than espher.

Got the code finding them. And there’s definitely a few with no tom markers but with pro drum animations in the few I tested.

Question still is: would it be more helpful to separate the files into pro and nonpro folders, or just output a list of songs that have and don’t have pro drum markers?
