“En Los Tiempos De Lo Extraño” by Javier Blake
For reasons in conjunction with his band, “División Minúscula”, in 2019, Javier Blake began the process of writing this album entitled En Los Tiempos De Lo Extraño, taking this title from a poem that helped in the realization of his first track. For many reasons (pandemic) the album did not see the light in 2020, even so, at the time it came out, it was exact to match the time with the theme.
“For those who have listened to División Minúscula it would seem strange to hear these rhythms in me, this is why the name of the album makes a very good game with everything that has been happening” (Javier Blake)

Reglas
“This is a song that I wrote on the piano, I tend to be more compositions on the guitar. From the beginning the song gave a feeling of being a song with dramatic sounds, so from the beginning I knew that this was an opening song of an album. This is why this is a song that I rescued from my demos” (Javier Blake on track by track of En Los Tiempos De Lo Extraño)
Replica
“2019 was a year in which I did not think of going to a studio to record, but in conversations with my friend and producer Pipe Cevallos he invited me to his new studio to record something, so in a couple of days we had already completed a lot of this track called replica, this was the key moment to start the whole process of this album, that is why it was the decision to make Replica the first single for this new project ” (Javier Blake on track by track of En Los Tiempos De Lo Extraño)
Rompeolas
“It was the second single from the album, it is a song that at the time of writing the lyrics was a self-therapy for myself. This is a song that talks about the fact that at a certain point in life you know what are the things we want and what they are those that we must leave behind. It is a song that I love for the meaning and for the harmony that we achieve in this song ” (Javier Blake on track by track of En Los Tiempos De Lo Extraño)
De Esos Besos
“It is a song that is basically about love, it is a romantic or cheesy song, it is a very sweet song that is about love, about letting yourself be involved” (Javier Blake on track by track of En Los Tiempos De Lo Extraño)
Austin
“It has this title because I composed it in the city of Austin-Texas, it is a melancholic song that the composition is born clearly from a storytelling entering this story and this characters. The song is about that story that is usually told about that love that you let go in the past” (Javier Blake on track by track of En Los Tiempos De Lo Extraño)
Estúpido Adiós
“This song has a classic rock structure in which I can take these basic sounds and be able to give it a touch of my own. It is a song that talk about to tries to escape for a weekend with your friends or with that special person” (Javier Blake on track by track of En Los Tiempos De Lo Extraño)
Girasol
“As a soloist, I liked the idea of trying to have some of my influences on this album, that’s why I decided to take this song to the psychedelic. It’s a song about letting things flow” (Javier Blake on track by track of En Los Tiempos De Lo Extraño)
No Me Provoques
“It is a song that in production we gave it a lot of laps, until the moment we started with the synthesizers and it took us to a mysterious rhythm with some choirs that bring joy. This is a song that is about a toxic relationship” (Javier Blake on track by track of En Los Tiempos De Lo Extraño)
No Hay Sistema Que Nos Rija
“I have never considered myself an artist that addresses social issues, but I consider that this is a moment in which there is a rise of voices. This song has a strong and distorted sound and a drums that sound like a march” (Javier Blake on track by track of En Los Tiempos De Lo Extraño)
Cicatrices
“This is the last track on this album, this is a song that when I finished it I knew that this song should close the album, it is a song that talks about loneliness, living or clinging to an absurd loneliness” (Javier Blake on track by track of En Los Tiempos De Lo Extraño)
