I tried transfering the custom songs to the flash drive and then running C3 CON Tools and RBtoUSB, and now it works.
There’s no mention about this in the guide that you have to transfer the custom songs to the flash drive before you can run them in C3 CON
If you’re on the latest Xbox updates, just use C3 CON Tools to copy over the files.
I tried re-installing the latest Xbox updates, but still not working. Have i missed something or done something wrong? This is the whole process i’ve done:
1. I plugged in the flash drive into the Xbox and formatted it.
2. I located and deleted “Rock Band 3 Title Update #5”
3. I took out the flash drive from the Xbox, inserted it into my computer and launched C3 CON Tools.
4. I opened RBtoUSB, selected the flash drive, copied TU4 to the drive and then copied all the custom songs to the flash drive. When i hit “refresh”, there’s an error box that pops up that says “Error searching drive for RB save game files. Invalid symbols in the search path” … i don’t know if this is relevant, but thought i would mention it.
5. I close RBtoUSB, take out the flash drive from the computer and plug it into the Xbox again.
6. Rock Band 3 is installed on the hard drive and i copied the autosaved game, audio/video settings and song cache to the flash drive.
7. I start up Rock Band, but none of the custom songs are there in the song list when i choose “quick play”.
If you’re on the latest Xbox updates, just use C3 CON Tools to copy over the files.
I did that. I used RBtoUSB to copy the files to the flash drive, but they won’t show up in the game
Copy these files ( autosaved game, audio/video settings and song cache ) to your usb thumb drive.
If your copy of RB3 has a Madcatz logo on the Disc or case cover ?
( It will not allow you to play custom songs. ) If it has the Madcatz logo Your RB3 disc is too new & has RB3 update #5 burnt on the Disc itself.
At that point your screwed my friend. Need to purchase an older copy of RB3 without Madcatz logo !!
Hope this helps !!
Gonna try copy these files to the USB drive
No Madcatz-logo on the disc, there’s only the Harmonix, EA and MTV logos
Another thing that might be relevant: When i have added all the songs and Title Update 4 to the USB-stick in RBtoUSB and hit “refresh”, there’s an error box that pops up that says “Error searching drive for RB save game files. Invalid symbols in the search path”
Could this affect in some way?
Did you format flash drive through the xbox?
Yes, like i said i followed all the instructions apart from the one about title update #5 since i don’t have it
I just got my copy of Rock Band 3 today, but none of the custom songs are turning up in the game.
I followed the instructions and did everything – apart from “Locate “Rock Band 3 Title Update #5″ and delete it” because i can’t find it. All i have in system -> storage -> Rock Band 3 is the game itself, autosaved game, audio/video settings and song cache. No title update #5. I haven’t connected my Xbox to the internet, so maybe it hasn’t been downloaded?
Anyway, i did everything else and have plugged in the USB-stick with all the custom songs.
First i tried to install RB3 on the internal hard drive and then i tried installing RB3 on the USB-stick, but all that shows up in the game are the regular songs, none of the custom ones.
And i have Title Update 4 on the USB-stick.
And the EA-logo and MTV-logo are on the disc.
Have i missed something? Do i need to import the songs from the USB-stick to the hard drive where the game is installed or something like that, or should it work just by having it inserted in the console?
I’ve been lurking around this site for a while and downloading songs, but i actually registered an account now too just so i could upvote this. We need Vixen in Rock Band ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
