I was actually working on this one but Harmonix beat me to it and released it as official dlc for Rock Band 4
Not sure if it’s the culprit, but it’s possible to compile a instrument with a blank midi that’ll cause the system to freeze if you try to load the specific missing instrument in game.
If you’re trying to load the drums and it’s crashing every time, try loading another instrument and see if it works. Or, run the con file through the phase shift converter and import the midi into reaper and see if the instrument you’re choosing is present in the midi.
TheFrisk you just made my day man! The songs I would like to see the most would probably be The Webs We Weave, Situations, The Guillotine, Reverse This Curse, and Theres No Symphony for the Dead. Would love to play these on the drums and rock out! Thank you so much for helping me out man!
The Webs We Weave it is then!
Not sure if anyone’s claimed any, but I’ve been wanting to chart more stuff with Ronnie for a while. Which songs from that album would you want to see the most?
August 21, 2020 at 6:29 am in reply to: Simple Tempo Mapping screenshot and question. How to handle slow persistent 32nd drum hits? #513649When you’re viewing the piano roll/midi for an instrument, you’ll see this dropdown menu that says “Straight” by default at the bottom of your window:
Click it and those other options show up.
August 10, 2020 at 5:36 am in reply to: Tons of Magma long note errors – Grid-locked 16th note chart…what is going on? #513394I get this every now and then with drum notes. No clue why it does it, but my fix is to select all the notes (including animations and tom markers but not overdrive or fills!!), then right click and select “Note Properties”. Where it says Length, enter either 1/32 or 1/64 and hit Ok to apply. This will resize all of the notes so their lengths are shorter. Then export the midi and try building again.
I’ve been debating doing either Hypa Hypa or Hate/Love. Both are strong songs.
It’s in the pool for [coop_front_near]. I’m sure there’s similar ones in [coop_all_near] if you wanted some from a higher angle that also get the drummer in there.
That functionality stopped working back in 2018, around the same time song title/artist metadata stopped displaying properly on your Control Panel.
That depends on the pitch sung by the singer and their range within the song. When you get tubes placed in the midi editor, it should be pretty obvious when you playback with the reasynth on whether the pitch placed is too high or too low. Assuming you’ve got the right note placed, if it’s too high you drop the tube down an octave, if it’s too low then you do the opposite and raise it an octave.
The info you looked up regarding Keys will determine what you lock the editor too. On the bottom of the midi editor is a little checkbox that says “Scale”. If you click it, you then select the key and whether it’s a major or minor, and it’ll restrict note placements based on what’s in the key.
I’m working on “The Best Thing (That Never Happened)” from We Are the In Crowd.
Is there a way to downgrade your PS4 version? From what I’ve read, you have to purchase one that has been jailbroken to that version or below.
If you’re above the version mentioned in the OP, then no. Supposedly, 5.5-7.00 is fully exploitable but nobody’s actually released the exploit yet.
March 12, 2020 at 7:07 pm in reply to: Did anything change with the customs that I’m not finding anything about? #510264Songs can have the same ID, or same smallname. The ID is what’s used to identify the song in your savegame and when playing online, valid ones are numerical only, this ID is located in the songs.dta file, variable song_id. Smallnames are the names used for the folder of the song and the files, it’s also at the top of a DTA entry. On xbox these files are inside the CON file.
I’m not sure in the specific case of xbox, but having any duplicate of those can cause problems on any version of RB3.
To add onto this: If you do narrow it down to two (or more) songs that conflict for this reason, they should be by the same author, and it’s worth popping them a PM to let them know they’ve got conflicting ID’s. The C3 Control Panel gives a notification if it detects duplicate ID’s, but not every author uses the control panel and might not be aware.
Your best bet is to go to google and enter site:customscreators.com “U2”, or replace what’s in the parenthesis with what you’re looking for. It should search the site for the entered phrase no matter how short the phrase is.
March 9, 2020 at 9:50 pm in reply to: Did anything change with the customs that I’m not finding anything about? #510161Can A corrupted custom file do this? And How could I find it?
A corrupted custom can cause crashes. I remember this was an issue with one particular custom when C3G was released, though I don’t remember the exact error it was giving.
If you wanted to test for this, unfortunately, your best bet is to backup and remove every custom you’ve got, then install one and see if it throws the same error. If if it doesn’t, then it’s possibly one of your other customs, and I’d reinstall and test them in batches. With a larger library (like your 50gb one), this will take a while, but if it is a corrupt custom giving you a hard time and you re-add them in batches it’ll be easier to narrow down which custom is giving you a problem.
