So far I have been able to find the following Tool songs as customs:

    46&2

    Aenima

    Prison Sex

    Lateralus

    The Grudge

Do you actually have CON files for these? PLEASE link them, you tease!

Hello, I am posting here to announce I am taking requests for future releases! I chart all instruments and I will chart just about anything lol (preferably harder songs).

What did you have in mind as far as “harder songs”? I am a drummer and I can think of two very different categories of ‘hard’, and that would be technically difficult and physically difficult. Personally, I find technically difficult to be far more enjoyable. I also notice that physically difficult songs tend to be mostly stamina tests that appeal to a very small group and aren’t what I would personally call “fun”.

So I’ll run with technically difficult and suggest two bands that are technically difficult for every instrument (and personal favorites, of course!); The Mars Volta, and Tool. If you’re interested, I would be happy to be more specific good luck to you and thank you so much for your effort, regardless of what you choose to chart!

My only wish is that people focused more on artist- or genre-specific threads, since that helps us narrow our focus and get a better idea of interest without having to sift through the one giant request thread. That being said, if people have random samplings of stuff they’d like to see I’m not going to begrudge them posting in that thread.

Agreed. A more formulaic method of posting topics would be beneficial, IMO. I was annoyed to see a massive requests thread popup as it feels essentially useless and “good” requests are going unnoticed. Organizationally it makes more sense to make threads relating to a single artist or several similar artists and people can +1 it or add related suggestions. If a thread has more replies, the main topic of the thread is clearly a popular request and would potentially warrant more attention from authors, whereas a topic that is made and ignored pretty clearly doesn’t have much interest from the community. Then the authors can just comb the song requests forum for hot threads when looking for requests and they’ll know exactly what is popular. They can’t tell which requests from that massive thread are the popular ones, just that the random requests thread is popular.

Also, if an author has a forte or preference (prog, for example), they can focus on the prog thread for ideas instead of having to read a ton of completely irrelevant replies from the random thread. This makes it easier for the author and is therefore a more effective way of making requests.

And finally, this is stated pretty clearly in the Board Rules/Details. So it has already been established that artist/genre-specific threads are the preferred method of receiving requests from the authors themselves, so why would you post in any other way? And of course, the first thing to popup and most popular thread in the channel is exactly what the creators asked not to do. Sigh. I honestly hope they ignore that entire thread on principle, and to dissuade users from creating threads like that.

    Porcupine Tree

    Dream Theater

    Primus

    Supertramp

    Genesis

    Flying Colors (Mike Portnoy supergroup)

    +1 (especially the PTree)

also how cool would this be on drums?!

    Phil Collins – Sussudio

Peter Gabriel’s entire So album would be epic, but I don’t know how some of that would translate to full band, like Mercy Street or Milgram’s 37.

Mentioning these two artists made me realize…GENESIS!

    Riding the Scree

(seriously, I would LOVE to play this one on drums)

    and

    The Colony of Slippermen

come to mind. Lots of great proggy drums, weird keys and strings, and Peter Gabriel singing with Phil Collins harmonies, yes please! Just don’t tell Richard Hammond.

EDIT: I realize neither of these are 80’s, but I thought it relevant enough to warrant a pass

the problem is that people want to see the chart and hear the original audio, not the clacking of instruments. i’ve tried this in the past and the drumming specially drowns the original audio. it would be more work than it would benefit anyone. just enjoy the songs instead

I’ve been putting up videos for a while, recorded in 1080p with direct audio from the console. Release day is unlikely and it’s pro drums only, but maybe some might find my channel useful?

What an amazing release! Can’t wait to play them all tonight, household responsibilities be damned!

I simply cannot express how thrilled I am with what C3 is doing. The weekly announcement/release schedule, the song choices so far, the quality of the releases, the website and your involvement with the community, it’s all top-notch, really impressive stuff.

I’m not ashamed to admit I love RB maybe a bit too much, and hearing the end of DLC was a dark day for me. I would have never guessed for as bright a future as I am seeing unfold here, thank you so much for your efforts, and please, keep up the great work :excited:

We don’t release custom versions of songs Harmonix has up for sale.

Just wanted to say I support this position fully (not that anyone asked ) and I hope you guys stick with it. Not sure your reasoning, but I think it’s a great idea to maintain a symbiotic relationship with Harmonix, rather than a predatory one. Customs don’t exist for the purpose of pirating, they should be complimentary to existing DLC. Good on ya, C3.

Some Steven Wilson / Porcupine Tree

This would be amazing! Especially in honor of PTree going on indefinite hiatus recently

    Here’s my particular vote; http://youtu.be/6XIpR59xeEU

Cee Lo Green – F**k You (the original explicit version, not that pussified, “Forget You” Glee version)

On the topic of clean vs. explicit, I have to wonder — is there enough interest out there to merit doubling up on releases and doing clean and explicit versions when such tracks exist (if we can get source tracks that line up tempo/chart-wise)?

I’d take a redone “Killing In The Name Of” with all 16 “F- you I won’t do what you tell me” and “motherf–ka!” added back in.

When this is sung at my house, they are added back in manually

Foo Fighters – Band on the Run

This is also on the spreadsheet, guitar only.

    Sex Bob-omb?

Aw hell yea. Although I would prefer Black Sheep from that soundtrack. Not a fictional band though, it’s by Metric.

in reply to: Mars Volta #398476

Ah, thanks for the reply. At first glance, that is less exciting. I may check out FoF, but I’ll definitely keep praying to the rock gods for some Volta customs in RB

in reply to: Mars Volta #398474

Sorry, but what’s FoF? I’m unfamiliar. Whatever it is, I’m stoked a Volta discography anything is in the works!
