I don’t know about Somebody That I Used to Know, but I haven’t posted my versions of the Maroon 5 songs yet. They work on my PS3, though. This revamp of the DB slowed me down on that, but I’ll post them up in time for sure. It looks like this new DB lets you post different versions of the songs, so I may do it that way…
October 2, 2020 at 2:01 am in reply to: [PS3] Customs not working due to multiple drums tracks #514419Maybe possible. But I still don’t have the time or motivation to work on this. I know it sounds petty but I put in my time for years and now I have two children, a full time career and other hobbies. I try to hang around the forums but that is not the same as wanting to get back in to start programming again and dedicating the kind of time that requires.
Hey, @TrojanNemo, I touched up 2 of your songs posted back in 2013 so they’d work on the PS3. Wondering if you could post an update? Wouldn’t have to do any other work on them. Maroon 5’s Harder to Breathe and She Will Be Loved. I PMed you awhile ago but you haven’t read it yet, so I’m hoping I can reach you here! Thanks!

September 30, 2020 at 3:56 pm in reply to: [PS3] Current situation with loop-ending affected songs #514403I can send you the modified mid files. You can send me a pm with your email and I can send them to you. I do not have access to a ‘cloud’ site for d/l.
If you want you can also send them to me and I will share them in the list on the first page, so that everyone can download them. I will PM you my email address.
Cool, I’ll just download them once Shroud has them posted!
September 29, 2020 at 5:36 pm in reply to: [PS3] Customs not working due to multiple drums tracks #514391There are only very few songs which are unencrypted and therefore allow to extract multitracks.
But when you find such song, I believe they figured out that it is not even necessary to combine the drums stems together. It should be enough to rebuild the song in Magma using quality level 3 (instead of quality level 5). The difference is essentially undetectable in the game, and Harmonix themselves have always used quality level 3.
Hey, so I see you have Maroon 5’s “Harder to Breathe” on the list. “She Will Be Loved” was also freezing my PS3. Just hovering over it in the songs list in the game made it freeze instead of play audio. I converted the .oggs I had to wav files for multitracks, and re-made dry vox for all 3 harmonies using mostly the vocals track, mixed with some original when the harmonies were singing different things.
I rebuilt that in Magma and it still froze my PS3, even though quality level is now default 3 in Magma. I checked song analyzer, and the midi length was less than a second longer than the audio length, which I know has been correlated with the loop ending issue. Instead of putting the mid into Reaper and moving the [end] back and all that, I just added 1 second of empty audio to the end of each audio wav file, and then rebuilt in Magma. That still froze my PS3.So I decided to just use the original audio files without the 1 second added to them, and instead compiled the drums tracks into one file, and selected kit instead of kit, snare, and kick. The rest are still multitracks. This is what I did for Linkin Park’s “Burning in the Skies” and like that time, this worked for me. I could now play the song in RB3 on my PS3 without problems. I’m going to do the same for “Harder to Breathe” and maybe some others. When I finished, I’d like to post the CON for these versions on @TrojanNemo‘s C3 posts for each song, if possible? That way, PS3 users can just download that version and use PS3 converter etc. like any other Con file they’d download.
Update: I wanted to fix a few wrong notes and whatnot in the harmonies for Harder to Breathe, so I went ahead and moved the [end] note back a bit and re-made the midi, then made dry vox, made the audio a little longer with extra silence at the end so it was longer than the midi, and kept the drum multitracks separate (kit, snare, kick). This worked in my PS3, so I’m going to go ahead and do the same for She Will Be Loved.
Update 2: I touched up both songs’ midis a bit, and also was able to get both working on my PS3. Harder to Breathe works with full multitracks including on the drums, but I wasn’t able to figure out how to do that with She Will be Loved for some reason, so I gave up and went back to the drums being one kit instead of 3 stems for kit, snare, and kick. I’m sure that’ll do for a lot of PS3 players out there.
September 27, 2020 at 6:38 pm in reply to: [PS3] Current situation with loop-ending affected songs #514363Ah, now I see. Anyway, I created a new wav file at 16KHz mono for the dryvox in Goldwave and it worked.
Smell Like Nirvana, When Will I Be Loved and Stacy’s Mom all work now.
Mind sending along any CON files you fixed? I may fix the dry vox on some if they’re not generating proper lipsync animations, but you’d be saving me some steps if you’d send the CONs along. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Creatures (For a While), Champagne, and Wake Your Mind Up added today, along with big updates for All Mixed Up, Don’t Stay Home, and Homebrew! All drums by uppyb0t. I learned a lot while making this batch. Check it out!
CAT v1.2.1 now live!
Several minor changes and a few features here.
- Invalid unicode in the filename will print an error message suggesting to check the song filename.
- “Reduce pro keys note density based on 5-lane” function now copies expert pro keys to lower difficulties before applying reductions.
- Note reduction for medium and easy now happens after note removal, lessening the issue where orange would move down to blue and then be considered a long string of single color.
- “Check/fix capitalization” now ignores the word “I” even if it is appended with a symbol for talkie (#, ^) or hiding ($).
- A bug that crashed drums animations when processing a green cymbal and blue tom combination has been fixed.
- Halving the BEAT track now makes sure the last note is still at most one measure before the END event.
- Adding “Show lyrics” function to erase the hide ($) marker from specified lyrics.
- “Remove notes” now works for Pro Guitar/Bass.
- New “Reduce from 5-lane” function in the Pro Guitar/Bass section. It is the same as “Reduce pro keys note density based on 5-lane” but for Pro Guitar/Bass instruments.
- New “Create sing-a-long” function to auto-generate singalong notes in the VENUE track based off the vocal harmony notes.

These are great changes! Thanks a lot for putting in the time to make these updates.
Island Sun, Homebrew, and All Mixed Up added today!
311 is one of my top three all time favorites, so I really appreciate all this!
Glad to hear it!

May 22, 2020 at 7:07 pm in reply to: Dolphin Wii Emulator RB3 for Previews – jittery – settings? #511652Pro drums on dolphin works totally fine, you just need a Wii MIDI adapter.
Yeah, I did manage to record and post non-jittery Dolphin footage by taking doa’s suggestion above and using Dump Frames/Dump Audio.
That quote was about a PS3 emulator that hasn’t gotten the drums working yet. Moot point, since I got Dolphin to stop jittering for my preview recordings by using Dump Frames. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
May 21, 2020 at 1:10 pm in reply to: Dolphin Wii Emulator RB3 for Previews – jittery – settings? #511615Are you using the Dump Frames option in Dolphin or using other software to capture the screen?
My PC is not that powerful so I use the Dump Frames option. Then I use the rendered audio from Reaper and put the two things together in a simple video editor.
This worked much better. Even if it dips to really slow when dumping frames, when I play back the .avi file, the video is the correct speed and so is the dumped audio. No jittering. This is the way to go!
What bitrate do you use? I’m dumping at internal resolution (which is higher than 1080p, for some reason), and it was set at 25000kbps bitrate, but I felt like the video was very pixelated. I tried 50000kbps, and that’s definitely better, but still a little pixelated. (When I checked the Lossless codec option, the gameplay slowed down to a crawl, and then the dumped video wouldn’t play back in VLC anyway and the file was huge…though the frames didn’t look pixelated. So I’m keeping that unchecked.)
EDIT: 75,000kbps looked alright to me, I guess. Thanks again!
EDIT 2: I bumped it up to 100,000kbps when I recorded some songs that also had keys. The 75,000kbps looked too pixelated to me for those.

Ah, I didn’t know about that feature. I was using the Windows 10 game recording. Thanks!
May 20, 2020 at 3:53 pm in reply to: Dolphin Wii Emulator RB3 for Previews – jittery – settings? #511587By the way, this PS3 emulator, RPCS3, looks really promising: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufPY3nImY40
The video, dated April 25, 2020: “New Guitar support for Rock Band 3 is here! Jump in and play some guitar and vocals in RPCS3! Now we wait for Pro Drums support and i’m not going back to Dolphin. (Drums are still not working yet)”
Maybe with some time, we can get codes similar to gecko codes for Dolphin, to autoplay and all that…
