I was authoring in 1/32 like I usually do.
Dont author in 1/32. For the most time you chart in 1/16th. When hammer ons and quick drum parts and such is when 1/32 is fine
This is especially true for drums because note size doesn’t really matter for drum notes unless it prevents you from charting quick rolls like mango said (no drum sustains). Since all your gem tick errors are for your drum track, you can run the “Set note lengths to grid size” command to ensure all your notes are the right size and won’t give you errors. To do this, select all of your drum notes (except for any that need to be quick, 1/32) and run the command with your grid size set to 1/16 or lower. You can find this command by selecting “Actions” and then “Show action list” and then searching for the command. If it doesn’t pop up, make sure your selection dropdown within the Actions menu is set to “MIDI editor”.
This command is great for working with weird drums MIDIs like those found in FoF files and the like.
If you’re having issues creating a beat track I would highly recommend installing and using CAT. You can just hit “Create beat track” when you are finished with placing your [end] event and never have to worry about it again. There may be some advantage to doing the beat track manually – I have little to no idea what the beat track actually functionally does – but as far as making a working custom that passes through Magma with no errors goes, this works great.
Was this resolved by installing the newest version of Magma, mango? If not, maybe try unmuting the pro keys track and using that midi with the autogenerate fake pro keys box still ticked.

Very minor issue, but would it be possible to fix the sustain length on the guitar chords? I noticed one runs right into the next without any space in between. I think CAT has an automatic fix for this.Keep up the awesome work!
I believe this has already been rectified, you may just have an older version of the song. Try redownloading from the OP and if it still isn’t fixed then either my link is bad or something terrible went wrong. Let me know!

I can’t find it anywhereBy the way great job with the other Tool songs!I never thought i’d be able to play “Rosetta Stoned” in rock band!
That’s because nobody has released it yet ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
Hopefully this song is the last one DenVaktare plans to release from Lateralus.

May 25, 2015 at 1:54 pm in reply to: Nyoxide’s Customs/Conversions (6/8 – The Ghost Inside, vocals fixes) #446298Make sure you only use the Convert icon for songs converted from commercial releases. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />I wasn’t sure, I’ve seen other authors use them for FoF converts but I’ll go through and fix them up. I wasn’t even consistent with using it anyway
Thanks for the feedback though, even minor forum stuff is appreciated.
Edit: No more convert icons, and every song has CAT icons now. In somewhat related news, today I learned that you don’t have to recompile every song since Visualizer lets you change the icons before creating the imgur link. Would have been nice to realize that BEFORE recompiling just about all of them…
May 25, 2015 at 1:33 pm in reply to: Nyoxide’s Customs/Conversions (6/8 – The Ghost Inside, vocals fixes) #446296Hm. Not sure how I missed them. I’ll rectify that in the next couple of days, thanks for the feedback (and the awesome charts).
Edit: Oh, for some reason I simply forgot to include them in the MIDI export when compiling the song originally. They were all placed correctly and everything already in REAPER, simply muted. Quick and easy fix, my favorite.

I don’t really have a need for this feature, but I must say I’m having the same error as The_Rock_Band_King. Any CON files I try to import using import -> import CON file give me the error saying it can’t find the songs.dta file inside. Yes, these CON files have been built correctly, they open up in the Quick DTA Editor just fine, and the DTA button is enabled when opening them with CON Explorer. I can’t find any CON files that will import correctly in this way. I’d like to believe I am a competent user and would be happy to follow any additional steps to see if this is indeed user error or developer error. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
The_Rock_Band_King was likely confused by your instructions due to the fact that most people probably don’t have CON files setup to open with CON explorer by default, and you simply told him to open it in C3 Con Tools. He probably opened up the program and didn’t see a button that just said “DTA”, because there isn’t one. If you had said open the file with CON Explorer, he may have been able to follow your instructions more easily.
Yes, try deleting that and see if it works. I don’t think 0xb0 is the name of the event causing the problem, more likely it is some sort of hexadecimal error code or a hexadecimal representation of the event causing the error. You’d have to ask TrojanNemo about what exactly those characters are a reference to.
Take a look at the events list for the track that is causing the error. Do this by viewing the notechart like normal, then clicking view -> mode: events list (mode: named notes should be selected, choose this again to restore the regular view). There shouldn’t be any events listed aside from track name, text events or notes. If there’s anything weird, delete it.
Try quantizing the notes instead of deleting and replacing them maybe? And try restarting magma and reselecting the midi file before testing it again, if you haven’t already. Make sure you’re using the most recent midi file of course.
I’ve always hated Party Buffalo, so I’m very excited to see that this step of the whole customs process has been brought into the TrojanNemo suite of fantastic tools. Thanks bud! Keep up the awesome work.
Also make sure the track name event is of type “Track Name”. It should be spelled exactly like this: “PART DRUMS” without the quotations.
If you’ve done all this already, try checking the events list. You can view this by looking at the notechart like normal, then clicking view -> mode: events list (mode: named notes should be selected, choose this again to restore the original view). The only types of events in there should be notes, text events or track names (as far as I know).
