Saw somewhere on the forums that there were a couple DMB customs in the works. Wish we’d get an update on them.
You mean like this? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Big Eyed Fish (Live) – https://www.sendspace.com/file/pa2cap
Broken Things – https://www.sendspace.com/file/ymnpgm
Belly Belly Nice (Live) – https://www.sendspace.com/file/n08cre
These are by no means perfect or even complete. I started working on them about a year ago and just lost interest/time. These customs take a very long time to do because you aren’t working with separate audio stems for each instrument but instead the final mix. Picking out each instrument is extremely time consuming, especially for DMB. If you guys have enough interest and are at least somewhat tech savvy you can make customs. Big key is patience and asking for help. Enjoy ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

I truly appreciate your efforts mrmet and really if anyone has an issue with the audio all they need to do is pull the MIDI, replace the audio, and recompile. Really an easy thing to do…
I noticed he has a live version of In the Air Tonight…. I remember Farratone mentioning something about this song in a thread but that it wouldn’t be a live version. Is that still the case?
This is more of a general lighting question – let’s say you wanted to author a certain color of light flashing, repeatedly. As I understand the lighting cues now, the only way to do that is to experiment with the manual lighting cues by authoring, watching in game, and noting where in the sequence of [next] events your color shows.I really wish they had allowed you to author certain colors by simply calling them out. I know the RBN documentation talks about each venue having different lighting so venue 1 may not have the same colors available as venue 2, etc.
Yeah it’s a bit tricky to get right sometimes. In general, the lighting colors tend to be like this though:
Flare: White
Blackout: Black
Silhouettes: Dark green
Cool: Light blue and cyan
Warm: Golden
Searchlights: Blue, Purple and Gold, varies a lot in between venues apparently
Sweep: Purple
Verse: Light various colors, seems to often go into Yellow and Cyan
Chorus: Strong various colors, seems to often go into Blue and Purple
Frenzy & BRE: All colors
Dischord: Defaults as Red and Orange, goes Blue on [next], has random Green, Purple and Yellow light beams
Stomp: White/Neutral, turns off all lights on [next]
Harmony I am honestly unsure about, from what I see it seems to start on purple and then blend into other colors as it goes. Also using post processing for color effects tend to work fairly well too.
I figured you had some of this info – your lighting on [one of your songs I looked at] is insane! I’m going to take a look at the midi to see how you managed to do some of those cues.
It’s a combination of 3 things:We’re using new attenuation levels. Following the advice of our resident audio engineer, OrangeHarrison, the audio is not being volume adjusted in the actual files. Instead, we’re using a default attenuation template of -3 for all the audio tracks and -8 for the crowd audio. This should only lower the overall volume by about 5% but should reduce clipping by about 95%.
I guess I don’t understand why attenuation is a concern since the files from TB:RB were already attenuated by HMX to begin with right? Seems like the stems from TBRB should just be usable in RB3 without any altering (except for the backing track as you stated). I’m probably not taking something into account and oversimplifying

When you say improved audio does that mean you’re taking advantage of the unlocked 1-10 quality of oggenc in Magma or just new stems? I know the file size would be pretty big if you used quality 10 for multi-tracks, hah. Looking forward to this!

Good call, keep an eye out. No idea on time frame on doing those songs, but yes eventually I will be doing that song.October 28, 2013 at 8:28 pm in reply to: MrMet2087’s Video Game/Movie&TV Themes/Real Songs Updated 08/23/2020 – Evanescence – “The Change” & “My Heart Is Broken” #408595Awesome stuff here. Speaking of Disney stuff, have you ever thought of making a custom from Pirates of the Carribean? The main theme (called “He’s a Pirate”…. I think) would be great
October 24, 2013 at 8:51 pm in reply to: Avenged Sevenfold – A Little Piece of Heaven {V2-25/10/13} #408445From what I can see in the project file, the entire song is using a tempo of 145. While it would be nice if the song stayed at this exact tempo, it’s just not realistic. Every measure is going to have a slight variance in tempo due to human nature (no one’s perfect, unless the song uses some techno drum machine with a set bpm). With that being said, it’s a good practice to place a tempo marker at the beginning (downbeat) of each measure.
Having played this song in game, I can tell you right now it will not pass a sanity check because the chart slightly lags the audio. The drums were almost unplayable in spots due to this. The tempo map is the foundation of the song and without a proper map this song won’t get released.
I would love to get my hands on the Dave Matthews Band songs from Power Gig once you’ve ripped them… please keep us updated!

You do have every time signature change in so that’s good.
Also, I have to say your lighting events are awesome! Seriously great stuff there. I did notice, however, that the camera stays on the same shot for a bit too long in some spots. It works well at times to showcase the great lighting you’ve authored but at other times not so much.
There’s an album of covers of the Nightmare Before Christmas OST, and it’s awesome. Anything from that album would be amazing for Halloween.I just found this… there’s always next year

I’d like to add the songs I’m doing:Perfume – “Spring of Life”
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu – “Ninja Re Bang Bang”
f(x) – “Electric Shock”
Die Antwoord – “I Fink U Freeky”
X Japan – “Jade”
D Money Pros – “What Are You Made Of?”
Nana Mizuki – “Dancing in the Velvet Moon”
The following I’m doing all have multitracks:
Lady Gaga – “Alejandro”
Dream Theater – A Nightmare to Remember
Dream Theater – A Rite of Passage
Dream Theater – Wither
Dream Theater – The Shattered Fortress
Dream Theater – The Best of Times
Dream Theater – The Count of Tuscany
The entire Black Clouds album Yes!
I can save you some time as I have Count of Tuscany CONs from a YouTube video (two of them since they were made when 10 min was the limit) They aren’t multi-track but at least it will help with the charting somewhat.
Also I have a complete multi-track of A Rite of Passage including pro keys from another forum.
