2x bass in on expert. Single bass expert is on Hard. Enjoy.
If enough people want a 1x bass version so they can gold star it, I’ll do that as well.
As with the other songs, feedback is appreciated.
February 12, 2014 at 12:58 am in reply to: Hairlooksgreat Customs (Updated 2/15 Too Late for Love Def Leppard) #413897Have you considered putting in non-pitched vocal tubes on your charts just to give people the option to sing? I know I would like to have them. It would also encourage someone like me to add pitches to the vocals if you already had the tubes, phrases and lyrics in there. That’s definitely the way I’m leaning at this point. I’m going to give it a little more time though. I haven’t totally lost hope.

Fixes the audio cutting out on drum fills, sustains are held longer on guitar, a fill on drums should be correct now.
The file has a new ID tag so you should just have to erase the old version and inject the new one.
Thanks for the input everyone and let me know of any issues that remain (other than no vocals). Really struggling with them. Think I’m tone def.
The wife works all weekend, so that will give me time to finish the update on ‘Like a Rock’ and finish up 2 new songs which somewhat coattail the C3 releases of last Friday. And by that I mean anti-VD.
February 5, 2014 at 3:26 pm in reply to: Hairlooksgreat Customs (Updated 2/15 Too Late for Love Def Leppard) #413530(assign mono to drums and the audio track to bass or guitar in magma) but would still like to know why it happens.
…and then as soon as you hit the whammy bar the whole audio gets distorted. Assign your audio to backing and mute tracks to all other instruments (which incidentally will cut down on file size too).
Ah, the trials and tribulations of being a noob. Thanks.
February 5, 2014 at 3:05 pm in reply to: Hairlooksgreat Customs (Updated 2/15 Too Late for Love Def Leppard) #413527When the drum fill lanes come, the audio completely cuts out. Not sure how you packaged it with magma, but I just thought I’d let you know.I never thought of testing it with the fill lanes (I don’t use them) and won’t be able to test it until tonight. Can anyone else confirm this is happening? Better yet, can anyone give some information on why this is happening? Fairly certain I have a solution (assign mono to drums and the audio track to bass or guitar in magma) but would still like to know why it happens.

February 5, 2014 at 4:07 am in reply to: Hairlooksgreat Customs (Updated 2/15 Too Late for Love Def Leppard) #413501Thanks everyone for the kind words. I agree with EdTanguy. Vocals are needed and as soon as I figure out what the heck I’m doing, vocals will be added.
After going through some of the suggestions from Farottone, I can now see the mistakes I made and have already made the songs better. They play better, feel better and are a little more challenging. Look for updates soon. I’m already playtesting a Def Leppard song and a couple more songs are in the works including a song from a Canadian rock band that very surprisingly has yet to make an appearance in RB (at least that I’m aware of). I’m also going through the request forums and have picked a few from there.
February 2, 2014 at 3:49 pm in reply to: Hairlooksgreat Customs (Updated 2/15 Too Late for Love Def Leppard) #413331Thank you for taking the time to go over this.
Concerning the drums, I’ve never played RB without cymbals so I wasn’t sure how to go about the flips without the snare. I was just trying to keep it consistent with when the snare kicks in. I’ll go back and correct that and the fill.
With the guitar, I guess I fell victim to my skill level while playing. Made expert a little easier than it should be. I’ll go over it again taking your recommendations into consideration.
Add I’ll correct the other issues you mentioned in general.
Thank you very much.

Glad you enjoyed it. Lower case on the next version. Overlooked that, Thanks!

What It Takes files.
Oh man, I haven’t checked out this thread in awhile. Like a Rock is a great choice. Can’t wait to see a finished version. Seger is definitely on my radar for future stuff, but I’m glad someone else beat me to it. I hope you keep at it!It’s basically done, with the exception of vocals. The drums are disco beats, albeit slow beats, which surprised me a little. I heard the song a thousand times but never really listened to it. There were some decisions to make when going from acoustic guitar to the slide guitar and I’m positive others would have made different choices. So this is basically my interpretation. At some point I’ll go back and add keys. There are quite a few spots where the keys drown out the acoustic guitar. I did the best I could with the limited experience I have.
With “What It Takes”, I was having a few issues with the timing on drum fills. I just seemed to be off a little. So I spent yesterday painstakingly redoing the tempo map. While there are no major changes in tempo, it does vary between 70-72.5, so getting each measure exactly right seemed to help with the fills.
Release is imminent for both.
Like A Rock and What It takes will be released Monday or Tuesday. Having a blast playing them and putting the finishing touches on them.
Meanwhile, here’s a preview of the next song. Drums are done and most of the guitar…
January 23, 2014 at 3:01 pm in reply to: Jan 17, 2014 – Poison, Britney Spears, Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus #412758Finally got a chance to play the Poison songs on drums and I gotta say, ‘7 Days Over You’ might be the most fun I’ve had on drums in a long time. Having recently started to chart, I’ve been looking at charting drums as a science and charting guitar as an art. The drums on ‘7 days Over You’ are definitely a work of art. Kudos!
So, here is the con file for anyone wanting to play test. All difficulties are done on drums, guitar and bass. Overdrive will appear in the final version. Once that version is up in the “Other Customs” forum, this file will be taken down. Give me your thoughts, ideas, critiques, praise, whatever. Remember, this is the first one I’ve ever done, so it’s probably not as polished as what you’ve come to expect. Here, it is.

Now, while you’re going over that and hopefully giving feedback, I’m going to take a break from this song and start on the next which I’ll try vocals on. If it goes well, I’ll go back and do vocals on What It Takes. Keeping things slow for now and will work my way up to faster tempo songs when I get more experience.
