  • in reply to: One thread to rule them all.. (Request ALL your songs here!) #502185

Just figured out how to get a filtered down list of the data so that you can now easily view top requested songs and artists.
No more stupid useless pie charts!
(Updated OP with all the links.)

Already spoke to the admins on discord about this. They view this as a waste of time considering they have a thread/whole section already built for song requests. They hope that people will understand that when using this thread for their requests, they or many others may overlook this particular thread. I personally love this idea but after thinking about it, I think theyre partially right, ya know? I dont want to say that they want the we made it, its ours, so its better tactic but I understand that they dont want to over complicate things too much on their website.

Anyways, this wasn’t meant as a replacement but a consolidation. Why have 500 threads filled with 20 requests when you can just click a link and see all 20000 requests on one page. (I’m not an expert on google sheets, if someone could show me a better way than terrible pie charts that would make the results even more interesting to view.)

All a author has to do is Ctrl+F and search for a song they are thinking about charting and see how many times it has been requested. If you see 20 different people requested, you might be more inclined to chart a certain song as opposed to only 2 requests. Before this method, they would have to click on each separate thread to do a Ctrl+F, which is time consuming to do I would assume. I seriously doubt any author has scanned every thread on this board. There’s 2507 request threads here currently with more pouring in.

All the mods would have to do to make sure your requests aren’t missed, is to pin this thread to the top. But well… I don’t see that happening… because “reasons”.

It’s not as if your separate thread can’t be buried and ignored in a week or so.

Besides…you can use this method AND make a separate thread. (see above gif)

in reply to: What caused the downfall of RB & GH? #501157

The biggest reason for Rock Band 4 declining in popularity is the lack of hardware support. It’s almost impossible to get into the game as a new customer because you have nothing but vocals to play. Guitars are wicked expensive and drums are damn near non-existent. The last Rock Band 4 drum adapter (for Xbox) sold for $300 because it was the only one listed, anywhere.

I really hope HMX can get back in the hardware game and make a deal with a partner company. If they don’t relatively soon, the game is going to fizzle out. Just a slow progress of more people quitting RB and less people joining the fun.

I accidentally typed Tracks of My Tears instead of Tears of a Clown for my Smokey Robinson request. Can that either be fixed or deleted (and then I’ll go back in and add the correct request)?

    Fixed. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

in reply to: Rock Band DLC Removal List (Updated 5/7/18) #499965

    Being Removed 08/03/2018:

    • Little Fish – “Bang Bang”
    • Little Fish – “Darling Dear”
in reply to: C3 Generations – the ultimate customs collection #499963

I thought American Pie was a really cool choice personally. Really fitting.

That wasn’t their last DLC because they are still releasing DLC.

These are the songs i want.

    Lich King: Combat Mosh

    Lich King: Agnosticism

    Lich King: Axe Cop

Use the form in the OP.

    :bang:

Sorry about that. Thanks for pointing out. I missed “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard” as well.

Aye no problem. Removed all 3 requests.

    Thanks for letting me know. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Just a suggestion: maybe it’d be handy for the people looking to chart something to add an extra optional field to fill in on the form.

If you leave the field empty, it indicates a full band request (or it auto-fills it to “Full Band” if that’s possible, otherwise you can specify what still needs to be done on an existing release.

For example: I know a lot of System Of A Down and Tool songs that are almost complete but need (pitched) vocals.

That way I could input them as “needs (pitched) vocals”.

Yay or nay? Just shooting at the wall and seeing what sticks here.

I like that idea. Especially since I could add Joan Jett – Do you wanna touch & request what it needs. Some though like to do charts from scratch but I hope the original charters would be okay with this idea.

For now I’d like to keep this as full band requests only. As in, if a request is decided to be done by an author, it should be completed as full band just like an official C3 release.

Remember that if a song is missing pitched vocals then it is not full band and is essentially missing the entire vocal track.

As with any other song missing parts, they are welcome to be requested.

First off, thanks for putting this service together.

Secondly, if I may make a suggestion, the pie graph is simply not a good choice to display this much data. I’d go to a sorted list!

I could not get any type of sorted graph or list to work in google sheets.

The graphs will become much more useful as more duplicate answers come in.

    This is a great idea.

Just one thing though, I just skimmed through the list, and I see Alter Bridge Metalingus, and this one is already in the database, but not full band, just guitar and drums.

How do we distinguishes what users are requesting, lets say like Metalingus which only has G+D, are all requests just for full band or? I guess this could get a bit confusing, or maybe its just me. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

I dont really post much in here, so let me just say a quick thanks for this fantastic community, been here many years and Ive enjoyed everything so far.

I’m guessing all full band requests. Makes more sense than to say “i only request a guitar only track of my favorite song(s)” or “I only request just drums because that is all I have”. I say that because if these are getting made for the c3 website, then they’re not just for that one person requesting the songs, I mainly request songs I feel others will enjoy, not just for myself, if I did, I’d only be requesting like video game soundtracks haha. But let’s not go into unpitched vox over pitched vox, that’s a whole other can of worms.

I think he meant can you request a song be made full band if it isn’t.

For instance, the one song only has G+D but he wants it to be full band with vocals.

My answer is yes, you may request songs already in the database as long as it is not full band. When an author skims through the list, they should be able to see their song and decide if they want to make it full band or not.

I will change the OP to reflect this. You should not be requesting full band / C3 releases. That is what gets really annoying.

Besides, it’s very easy for someone to simply report the song and I can simply delete the request.

Saw someone requested Frank Klepacki – Hell March, wanted to vote the same, accidentally input Hell March – Frank Klepacki
    HURF :v:
    I will change this. Thanks!

LOL, the artist pie chart looks like a CD.

    Does anybody remember those?

The song title pie looks ridiculous with barely any duplicates.

in reply to: C3 Packs / Albums and File Backups #499893

Remove my program from your database.

Farottone will chime in on the rest.

Sent from my Samsung S9+ using Tapatalk.

    Already removed.

    Any reason why though?

    in reply to: C3 CON Tools v4.0.0 [01/25/18] #499885

    Weird bug I noticed…

If the folder name has a # in it the application will not start.

    My folder was:

    C:#C3C3CONToolsv400

Can you also pop in a bar graph by requested song title, in addition to total artist requests?

I think the current graphs (located on the other tabs at the bottom of the page) are as good as it will get due to Google Spreadsheet limitations. The artists pie is already looking decent. The song title graph should look a lot better once more and more duplicate requests come in.

    Thanks for supporting my idea! <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
