Neither is technically from the 80’s, but they’re so wonderfully 80s-esque:

EIGHTIESTRAVAGANZA needs to include some pseudo-80’s

Awesome, this fixed my problem in Windows 7 x64 too – multichannel tracks play without any skipping.

Did anyone have time to look into this further? I am catching up on the last 6 months or so of C3 releases and came across this…

I just downloaded and tried this, and I am having audio stutter also with at least multi channel tracks, though it appears stereo tracks work fine. Windows 7 x64, AMD FX-8350 CPU w/ 16GB RAM – so perhaps it’s the same problem being seen under Vista? Playing a wav file (decoded from a FLAC, a full song) works fine.

This works: Michael Jackson – Bad (stereo mix)

This doesn’t: Fort Minor – Remember the Name (full mulitrack)

Actually, at around 1:20, the multitrack started playing fine. However if I seek it it doesn’t seem to ever recover.

When it’s not playing right it sounds like the audio mixing can’t keep up with playback, it’s not dropping out but pausing between playback buffers, until all of a sudden (no “speed up”, just sudden) it’s playing fine. CPU usage of sox is never over 2-3%.

I’m trying to google issues with sox but so far haven’t had any luck.

but to be fair, we got what we REALLY wanted already. The ability to add our own damn songs.

Customs (as opposed to legit RBN tracks) will be something I miss, because you can guarantee they’ll do their best not to leave open such a hole again, you can guarantee the record labels were not happy about it.

In the next Rock Band, I would see:

    5) The ability to set a specific scrolling speed for a player like Guitar Hero, and not just for everyone…

You could sort of do this in RB3, with individual track speeds. Then you got whatever the default speed was for your difficulty on your part, though I don’t know if you could then also toggle breakneck for just yourself, I never use it …

Now, making individual track option stay SET between sessions would be nice! Every time we play, the first track we play, we get like 15s in and go wait a minute, something is wrong… Oh yeah! Change setting, restart song ..

in reply to: USB sticks for Xbox #422767

I just the other week got into customs, and I bought a PNY Attache III 32 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (P-FD32GATT03-GE). It’s working fine so far, at least the xbox didn’t complain, and it’s about half full now with customs and such. I was running into a problem with copying the customs to it (via another drive, to get around the 200 file limit issue) that every time I copied a file, the xbox would take longer afterwards to go back to the file list. I suspect the xbox is just terribad at large numbers of files on a flash drive and reading the directory info + all the file info.

Once I realized I could make my own packs with C3 Con Tools, that’s what I did. Now there’s like ~100 or something packs on there (mostly I just packaged them according to the “pack” it was released on C3 as, or whichever GH/album/whatever it was from, and then for anything else just rolled them up into ~20-25 song packs that usually spanned a month or two of singles). That is working MUCH better, since the xbox sees fewer files …

TL;DR: If some of them don’t show up, don’t bundle the missing tracks into a pack, and be sure to live-to-con convert Let There Be Rock…

Yup, I was back to the original scenario. BHS / Dani show up due to TU5 cache building, but Any Way You Want It, Battery, Let There Be Rock, and Party in the USA don’t show up.

For grins I threw them onto the USB stick as separate tracks (not packaged as a pack) and then they showed up.. well, except for Let There Be Rock. So as I’m moving the working ones to my main TU4 USB drive, I notice that what should be Let There Be Rock is showing as corrupted. Check it out in C3 tools and notice it’s a live signed package. D’oh! Re saved it as a Con package, now it works, but it and the others that didn’t load still don’t load when in a pack, so I’ll have to leave them as individual files. Oh well, no great loss.

I was still having trouble with some content not loading in TU4 (i.e, not being signed into Live) – AC/DC Live, the RB2 bonus tracks, possibly some random DLC (though I haven’t found any yet, I haven’t tested exhaustively). At least for AC/DC and RB2 bonus tracks, re-re-moving my licenses and re-re-downloading the packs worked. If I come across further DLC issues I’ll probably just need to re-download it… I swear I did them all, but considering how many there were to go through re-downloading I’m not surprised I missed some, just surprised it was AC/DC and the bonus tracks. Guess I’m always on live until now so I had no idea it wasn’t signed to the console.

After I nuked the cache and rebuilt in TU5, the same songs appear / don’t appear, but all my other missing content such as AC/DC Live showed up. I’m still baffled about that, since it should have been licensed to this console in the first place and thus not even need my profile signed in to use … but whatever. I expect when I go back to TU4 I’ll have all my songs but still be missing the remaining 4 (BHS / Dani California show up now due to TU5). I haven’t been able to try yet, though (errands, chores, now wife is watching TV… )

in reply to: All Unexported Songs! #422557

I downloaded the songs in this thread and put them into a pack with C3 Con Tools (as I’ve done with many other customs), but only some of the songs appear to work. Any suggestions?

Show up in the song list:

Die Toten Hosen – Hier Kommt Alex

    Metallica – Enter Sandman

    Black Sabbath – Paranoid

Oasis – Rock ‘N’ Roll Star

    Don’t show up:

Journey – Any Way You Want It

    Metallica – Battery

Miley Cyrus – Party in the USA

AC/DC – Let There Be Rock

    Soundgarden – Black Hole Sun*

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Dani California*

    * – I was in TU5 environment before doing customs so these two showed up because of that. However, after nuking my cache and rebuilding (trying to see if the others would show up) I didn’t have them anymore, so they aren’t working either. Also, apparently, now my AC/DC Live pack isn’t showing up anymore either…

edit: Looks like a lot of my content is loading after going back to TU5 (at least, the amount of content it’s seeing to load is much greater). Strange, since nearly everything should be licensed to this xbox and work offline (everything but a few old pulled tracks that I couldn’t get re-licensed when I upgraded to the original slim model, anyways, AC/DC isn’t one of those…)
