Hi, this is my first posting contribution to C3 – I am unfortunately just an avid enthusiast rather than a contributor but I have encountered an issue that is driving me nuts. I do apologise if there is already a solution buried within the forums but I promise I did extensive key word searching prior to this.

I appear to have hit a limit on songs that Rock Band 3 registers in the library (890). The following information will likely rule out other issues and explain it further.

I own 516 Official Rock Band Songs and 511 Custom Rock Band Songs for a total of 1027 Rock Band Songs – therefore this rules out the 2.8k song limit. The deficit of 137 is completely random within the packages – on different repacking or transferring new songs may appear in place of others while strictly keeping 890 as the capacity limit.

    I own a Xbox 360 Slim 250gb.

I own a Sandisk Cruzer 32gb USB formatted accordingly. I use both Party Buffalo and Horizon.

I have packaged my 511 songs into 3 separate cons all equating 3.3gb (approximately) per one. Therefore I feel this rules out the Party Buffalo 256 glitch. I have also used Horizon to add the entire operation to no success.

The issue that I’m facing is that the 890 song cap is the hurdle, not the songs themselves. I can alternate what songs appear on my library, so all of them work. If I chose to add DLC from the store this would essentially just remove one custom from the library.

    I feel I have rambled or not been succinct in diagnosing the problem and thus I’ll quickly summarise in case it’s hard to read through;

    – I cannot get my customs to exceed 890. There is no rhyme or reason as to which ones are chosen and once they are chosen I have no way of making the others appear.

-They are packaged with C3Tools and have been trial uploaded both with Party Buffalo and Horizon. Transferring to the hard drive was also explored.

-The usb is performance appropriate, the title update has been redownloaded, the songs all work individually but cannot all appear in the library at the same time.

-This issue has persisted from a previous 16gb usb of a different brand.

-Song caches, system caches and detached hard drives have all been properly considered in this issue. A second USB has also been tested but it still caps at 890.

I’ll be checking this regularly as this not only has frustrated me immensely but I purchased a new USB to remedy this issue and it has repeated itself.

Thank you for taking the time to read it and potentially suggesting a solution.

I had a similar issue nce and it was due to a bad 16 GB drive. I’m using a new 32 GB drive and I have no more issues.

I’ve switched to an appropriate Xbox 360 32gb USB but the issue appears to be repeating itself. Is there a reset I need to do on something? Simply changing USB’s did not fix it.

So I further explored my issue and found potentially that the package maker was not properly converting them – me not paying attention to any errors that occurred. I now have an issue where I am viewing 897 songs of 1028 and have no where to go. All official DLC is fine. Song cache was re-deleted and it did not assist the issue. So I searched this and found one reference to song i.d’s. If this is the issue how do I solve this? If not, what can I do?

I have resolved this issue. The pack manager was experiencing errors that I did not notice but were still including corrupted songs in the pack. With careful monitoring I ensured it worked and with yet another re-format and attempt to get them working I finally succeeded. Thanks to those who took time to read this. If you experience a similar issue hit me up.

        hi there Invincible 666,

can you tell me how did you fix that 890 song limit bug?

i have an old WD 320 hdd, i partitioned a section of it to 32 gb so the xbox can recognize it as a valid drive. i was able to load most of the official DLCs and a handful of my favorite customs. when i reached the magic number of 890, i can still inject songs to my ext. drive but will get deleted whenever i close horizon / party buffallo.

btw, im using a jtagged xbox 360 slim with a built in 4gb internal memory + ext. hdd to house my GOD games in addition to the 32 gb thumb drive (old 320gb hdd).

i’ve tried to search the answers in the forum but i can’t really find the correct solution.

i’m thinking of re-formatting my 32 gb HDD just to correctly load all my DLC’s and use a 16 gb or smaller thumbdrive to play all my customs, but don’t won’t be fun – i guess so.

Are you loading your songs in your store folder or in the cache folder?

sorry for being ignorant, but which is which – store / cache folder?

but i think i know where the problem lies – i reformatted my drive and was able to seamlessly inject official DLCs using horizon; when it’s time to load up the customs i got a prompt about a “unhandled exception blah blah” after batch loading some songs. either one or more of the files is /are corrupted since the other songs werer playable later on; however after the batch containing the problematic files – i was able to add songs / but only ate up space (around 100 + failed to show on my song list).

another culprit maybe is the outdated HDD drive (at least 5 years old) i’m recycling. i’ll try to re-format the hdd drive again and inject the working customs first (i wrote a list of songs which i believe could be faulty) before i load up on all the official DLCs i have. will update you soon.
