    That’s gonna be great for our community. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Thanks, I wonder what happened to liking comments.

    Can’t find it anymore <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

Or you could get C3 CON Tools and convert them yourself.

I have a question about the instrument icons on the new customs database.

The partially filled icon for, say, guitar. Does that mean that it’s not multitrack-style? If that’s the case, then a fully filled icon is multitracked.

I wasn’t sure if there was a post about that yet.

And how can you tell what customs are expert-only?

Right now, half-filled is “exists but without proper reductions”, as Nemo said. We’ll be redoing this system in the VERY near future, and it will come with a legend to make it easier to follow. Multitrack status will also be denoted on the list and not just on the details page.

So if I use CAT and edit it to make it better do I still have to use Auto/CAT?

Many “real” reductions use CAT as a starting point. “Manual reductions” means you, as a human, looked over every measure of every chart on every difficulty and made sure the reductions were good, for rhythm, relative pitch (if applicable), gem choices, etc. I’ll tweak the description on the song add/edit page to be clearer about this, right now it makes it sound like CAT is completely off-limits for “good” reductions.

Thanks, I wonder what happened to liking comments.

I removed this functionality, it was adding a lot of overhead to other things I was changing and I personally didn’t find that it added much to the forums experience. We can put it back if enough people want it back.

Will there be an option to add our own visualizer pics in the future? I ask in case anyone authors anything that wouldn’t be automatically found on last.fm when that feature is put in, or if they do a re-record or something.

There will be an option to add songs not available through the music API, absolutely. There’s a number of reasons for that (songs recorded by obscure bands, alternate versions, studio covers, re-recordings, live versions, etc.) <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

Regarding liking, I for one would wish to see it back. If only as a fairly meaningless way to say thanks or throw a bit of weight behind an author or contributor to the community. Sometimes a comment is a bit too much, if that makes sense. At present I lack the skills and time to contribute properly to the community, being able to like something might show someone who is considering maybe attempting a custom that x amount of people would like them to who might be a bit comment-shy or be happy lurking.

I’m probably reading too much into it all.

Massive thanks for all the work, by the way. Superb stuff.

Edit: I realise now this thread is DB specific so some of my points are a bit off the mark. But if likes can be switched back on the forum threads then that’d be cool.

Is it possible to make the search function better for the database? For instance, if I search for “I Can See Clearly Now” the only word that is accepted is “clearly”. If I search for all the AC/DC songs, nothing appears, because it removes the /.

The database is looking great! Thank you for all your hard work.  <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

What happened to Nightmare Lyra, and who is this ipsadmin?

Seconded. Sex Bob-Omb gives the search engine some trouble with regards to the forums, as well (same goes for the previous iteration the forums), even though WIPs of songs by Sex Bob-Omb do exist when located manually. I figure that this would help bolster the efforts of syncing up releases between the Other Customs Discussion forum and the new database.

This thread hasn’t been getting a lot of love lately, but I just want to chime in and say I really appreciate what you are doing. A central database with all C3, Harmonix, and independent song releases in no small feat, and its been progressing very nicely. Thank you!

Non-terrible search is coming soon, I promise.

As denoted by the “TBD” and its hover text on the song list, I have yet to manually associate all of the C3 songs to the correct authors. It’s on the list!

Alternate links will only appear if the author provides them.
