Hello all of C3,

 

First off, and it can never be said too much, thank you to all of the people who made this possible and continue to do so with weekly releases (been loving the 80’s month!). All your work is so greatly appreciated by a number of people far and wide, myself included. I thought I was in a dream when I first caught wind that playable customs were continuing after Harmonix had (temporarily) ended their DLC, so you all in essence gave a reason to pick up the ol’ guitar and drumsticks again.

 

That said, I am both happily looking forward to what Rock Band 4 will have to offer and sad that C3 will be ending their weekly releases. But I am curious, with Harmonix focused on backwards compatibility with instruments and songs for the new game, and with Microsoft’s announcement that it will also be gearing the Xbox One to play old 360 games, it got me wondering: is it possible to continue that with customs?

 

Namely, does anyone know for certain if with the old RB3 disc and custom sticks in an Xbox One, would these customs be playable on a One? I’m not sure what all makes up a custom track/if it would even be possible, but I’d think in theory with the disc compatibility (matched with old instruments even), would this work?

Hi and welcome. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”> We know for sure that RB3 will not work on the Xbox One because HMX has not elected to work toward its compatibility (cannot see a reason why they would, even if it involved 0 man hours). UGC is something that will be confined to Rock Band 3 on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii for the foreseeable future, and since RB4 is not really a continuation of the series but a reboot missing quite a few features, it could be a good thing to buy the game and the new DLC AND to keep around the old console. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

I was responding when it got deleted the first time, but essentially the ones who were doing the pro charts stopped being as active, and the rest of us don’t have the experience or know-how to chart it.

I have enjoyed everything about C3, I have loads of customs from all of you guys, and I play them still because they’re all so freaking awesome. So I cant thank you guys enough for all your effort put into this, and for making it all public and easily available.

What the future will hold for all of us is still something we will have to see when the time comes.

This thread is about the future of C3. Whether or not there will be pro g&b charts in the future clearly is relevant to the future of C3. Thanks, Gigakoops, for answering the question, one I have been pondering for weeks.
