      Hi folks!

It’s Hint Thread time again, though this time I’m going to revisit the twenty questions-style concept we first tried out back in June. This week has a fair number of acts that I think are well within the realm of reason to get a good guess at, and it’s a good way for you guys to a) get more engaged and  get a break from obscure and/or intentionally misleading hints. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

If you are not familiar with Twenty Questions, it’s a game of sorts where someone normally thinks of a person, place, or thing, and the ‘players’ must attempt to deduce what it is by asking a series of yes or no questions — and they can only ask twenty. It will be slightly different given what we’re dealing with, so here are the rules for how we will be playing the game. There are some slight clarifications/changes from last time.

      • We will only be discussing one song at a time. When all twenty questions for a song have been answered, we will move on to the next. With that set, please note which song (numerically) you are asking the question about to avoid any confusion from people skimming the thread later on.
      • Anyone can ask any number of questions, but you should ask one question PER POST and wait until your question is answered before asking another one. If we get closer to release and the thread is pretty quiet, I may relax this restriction.
      • I will be answering the questions in the order they are received — if you believe that your question may be rendered moot or may need to be reworded based on the answer to a previous question, you may want to wait until that question is answered before asking the next one. I will try to keep on top of these as much as possible (especially during the evenings).
      • Questions have to be worded in such a way that I can give a “yes”, “no”, or “both yes and no” answer.
      • If you ask a question that isn’t worded in that way, but it could be, I reserve the right to re-word it and answer it or ask you to clarify (e.g. “did this song come out in the 80s or 90s”, I may reword to “did this song come out before 1990” and answer yes or no, or ask for clarification as to whether you meant “which of these decades did it come out in” or “did it come out in either of these decades”, reworded if it is the former).
      • As soon as we hit twenty answered questions, no more questions will be answered for that song.
      • Duplicate questions will not count against the cap.
      • You can ask “is the artist x” or “is the song x by artist y” as part of the twenty questions, and I will answer that, but once the questions are depleted, there will be no confirmation or denial regarding your guesses.
      • I will be updating the OP with the questions asked and their answers as we go along for the sake of completeness.
      • Once the release is out the door, I will be going through 20Q.net to see if it manages to guess them, and providing the questions it asks and the answers for funsies.
      • C3 Authors, Administrators, and Playtesters are not permitted to ask questions. Since, you know, they should already know.

      Happy hunting!

Why not just ask for the era? (90s, 80s, etc)
