July 11, 2015 at 12:02 am #449989I don’t think it’s outlandish to say “Message me when this song is done, I want to sponsor it”
It’s not, but NL never asked to be messaged in this thread, that’s why I don’t understand why a PM was expected. It’s ok if C3 authors don’t want to sponsor songs but if they do, checking the show floor at least once per month is a must because we have a 30 days period of grace anyway.
Anyway, if anybody wants to pick this up I will be more than glad to take a step back, I have a mile of songs to sanity check anyway.
July 11, 2015 at 1:40 am #449994Well up to you Shadow, mind if I take it over? If I do it’s up to you if you wanna get any fixes in PT form or if I should do them on my own and just note down general stuff to learn from
July 11, 2015 at 1:32 pm #450024A VIEW TO A KILL SANITY CHECK
It’s generally good but drums need a very good look…
DRUMS
– You chose to omit the foot activated hi hat at the beginning, which I agree with, but I think you should then be consistent. The 2 hits at M9 and M10 come from the right audio channel so it can be construed that they’re genuine right hand hits on the hi hat, M11 does not, so I would omit that.
– I would follow the same logic for all verse, like at M13-> and similar. I don’t hear many of the Ys you authored and to make things easier I would do away with those that don’t come from the right channel. In example in the first 2 measures of the verse the lone right channel hit is at M14.3.
– In the verses you are missing all open hi hats, like the one at M16.4.00, 19.4, 20. 4, etc. (the first one you recognize is at M34.4.00)
– Please go over your song and check all drum patterns because I’ve found more than a few instances where you copypasted the wrong pattern, one examples is at M35.3 where you should have kick, snare, open hi hat and you have hi hat, kick and snare
– You are missing a few kicks, I’d suggest you do a pass for those alone, an example is at M39.4.50, and then 42.2.50, 43.2.50, etc.
– M40, can’t hear a difference between those 3 hits, but if there’s a difference I hear it between the first and the other 2.
– M48.4.50, missing open hi hat
– M52.4, missing snare
I’m gonna stop here because I know this is a very very trick drum track but you need to do a better pass before I can take another look, there’s just too much that can easily be solved by doing a pass for cymbals and one for snare/kick/toms.
BASS
– In the pattern, the note at Mx.4.25 is actually at Mx.4.50
– In the pattern, most/some notes at Mx.1.00 have a “sister” note at Mx.1.50, checkout M14 and 15 as an example, so you can understand where they should be added.
GUITAR
– M69.1, the B is different than the other Bs, possibly a Y, possibly a chord
KEYS
– M61, I hear a different pattern, more like this one:
VOCALS
– M75, “fall” needs a dip
– M73, can’t hear “the first”, only “first”, one long note. Same spot, “tal” is a G to G#
– M78, “to drench”, to -> D
– M83 and similar, “chance” is F# to Eb
– Transpose the whole track one octave down. Also, give this a +30 tuning cent in Magma, once you do that I’ll give it a test in game because Le Bon tends to sing between pitches and I want to be sure the tuning is good
– I would remove the double tracked harmonies honestly, they are barely there and I think it works fine as vocals only.
July 11, 2015 at 6:42 pm #450045Maybe SotS forgot, or didn’t see the post? It was a few pages ago, that is entirely possible.I’m supposed to PM the sponsor if a song is done? Oops.

You’re not. But if you let NL take over I’m grateful. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
July 13, 2015 at 3:49 pm #450165Since you haven’t replied to my PM yet I just thought I would put it here too just in case: Managed to send that PM to myself somehow so never mind that part ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
Playing With The Boys is ready for compile and upload, however the files only include the lead dryvox so if possible I would like it if you could send over the other dryvox files as well please. Once I get it I will be able to compile it and put the file in the scheduler ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
