Sorry if this has been answered somewhere before (I’m sure it has but searched for quite a while and couldn’t find an answer).

Where is song order set on the quickplay menu for an artist? I have a few albums of customs that have a song out of order and the OCD in me is driving me crazy. Also, I have a few artists where they have say 4 or 5 songs from the same album, but they’re not grouped together with a sub-header like regular DLC would.

Any way to fix this? Curious if this is something set up in C3 CON Tools, etc.

    Thank you!

I don’t know how to show songs in order by song number (instead of alphabetically) within a specific album. But there is a song number in the DTA metadata, so there could be a way to do so…

I think that at least in PS3, songs are grouped together under an album title if there are at least 3 songs from the same album, otherwise not. If you are sure you have more than 3, check their DTA, because a spelling mistake on the album name (or maybe even different capitalization, I am not sure) might prevent the game from recognizing they are all from the same album. In addition, some authors might have ripped the song audio from a compilation/best-of CD, even though the audio is in most cases identical to the album version. So you might have songs that are in fact from the same album, but some of them have a different album (i.e. a “best of”) mentioned in the DTA file. I have noticed this for instance with Supertramp customs.

However this is all in the metadata, which is dead easy to fix yourself if you want: just open the DTA file, find the song detail you want to change and do it. The DTA file is a text file really, so you can do so on your PC with Notepad, but some people have said in the past that they had issues because Notepad saved it back in the wrong character encoding format, so perhaps it’s safer to use C3 CON TOOLS to edit the DTA file.

Thanks Shroud, I didn’t even know about accessing DTA files. Worked perfectly, thank you!
