November 11, 2016 at 1:28 pm #477584I think Ben E. King’s Stand By Me is in the database as well.
it’s in the database but as karaoke vocals only….if anyone wants to upgrade the vocals it would be greatly appreciated.
December 8, 2016 at 3:08 pm #478567Another big update. Special thanks to Bansheeflyer (“Cars”), drummerrockband (“Feliz Navidad”), Farottone (“Rock and Roll Pt. 2”), and GreenPanda12 (“She’s Gone”) for recent releases to the Customs DB!
December 9, 2016 at 12:07 pm #478609A great list overall, but a particularly big +1 to:
-Sonny & Cher “I got you babe”
-Nancy Sinatra “These boots are made for walking”
-The Trammps “Disco inferno”
January 5, 2017 at 6:26 pm #479862Crossed off 9 more songs which the fine contributors to this community gifted us over the holidays.
Thanks to all!
February 17, 2017 at 1:32 am #481542+1 to “Hang On Sloopy”. Let’s get it done for the Ohioans here.

I have this in REAPER, but it’s a bit of a mess and probably not going to get finished by me due to the fact that I suck at authoring.
February 17, 2017 at 6:23 pm #481574Came here to give a big fat plus whatever number is needed towards the Four Tops songs. I consciously checked them after Sam mentioned them in the upbeat songs thread. Despite being someone who generally favours Stax songs over Motown songs I simply Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)

I think many of us agree that R&B in general (be it Motown, or Stax/Memphis, soul, whatever) is a seriously underrepresented genre in Rock Band.
I’d be willing to bet that we’ll see at least a couple of those songs someday, but unless some kind of big collaborative project popped up out of nowhere, or Berry Gordy’s grandson discovers this website and it turns out to be that he’s also an incredibly talented author with access to stems…I wouldn’t hold out too much hope.
To paraphrase this guy:
February 17, 2017 at 7:45 pm #481579Also, I prefer The Temptations to the Four Tops, but that’s like having to choose between flavors of delicious ice cream.

Hmmm! Ice cream…hahhhrhhhh
I’m not that familiar with the Temptations’ body of work save for their greatest hits. But My Girl is one of my favourite songs of all time. I Can’t Help Myself is just a song I have a big ol’ crush on at the moment.
As for hope for more soul songs in Rock Band, I have lots of that.
February 22, 2017 at 5:28 pm #481738LOL! You guys kill me! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
Just love this conversation…..Indeed my sentiments through and through on both sides of the coin!
As far as a preference for the Temps over the Tops? I’d have to go with Sam’s ice cream analogy.
Which brings to mind, either of you guys catch that Motown 25 T.V. special back in the day (you know, where Michael showed the rest of the world what ‘The Moon Walk’ was)? While all the younger folks were digging Michael’s moves to “Billie Jean”…. Ol’ Funky Freud wasn’t all that impressed, me and my crew done see’d that dance move a few years before, but in all fairness to Michael, no one does it like him! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
What I was diggin’ on was The Temps and Tops takin’ the stage to do a Sing off/Battle of the bands kinda’ medley thing with a twist….Temps doing Tops tunes and Tops doing Temps tunes and joining together for the last song. Now THAT was something to see! At least that’s how I remembered it…LOL! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
February 22, 2017 at 6:45 pm #481746The “Motown 25” special is one of the seminal moments in televised music history. It was in a lot of ways Michael Jackson’s “coming out party” (pardon the potential inappropriateness of the phrase)
For some reason, I recall Smoky Robinson
I recall reading that there’d been some past customs work on “My Girl”, but it was put on the shelf for reasons.
There’s so many good Motown songs.
A good article on the impact of the special:

February 23, 2017 at 9:05 pm #481806I recall reading that there’d been some past customs work on “My Girl”, but it was put on the shelf for reasons. It’s resting!
…
I was trying to finish it for my daughter’s birthday in December but something else came up.Can’t remember what it was.
Before that the tempo map glitched out a couple of times making me redo way tool much work. A case of You Can Call Me Al-custom-syndrome. I think it was a case of tightening the harmonies and charting guitar.
February 26, 2017 at 6:11 am #481943I’ll gladly take all of these , but Heart – TheSe Dreams on vocals would be so fun!
