And wait not a version for xbox360 and play3?
Because those systems are almost a decade old now? Because RB3 pushed those systems to the max as it was, so RB4 is better suited for the current, new systems that can let them use for 1080P assets for better graphics and better overall quality?
They may do a watered down version for last gen consoles after launch, but think of it like RB3 on Wii was compared to RB3 on Xbox 360. Underpowered machines get a lesser product.
I would die if RB4 had 60fps on the new consoles.
Why would you want the whole thing 60fps? The highways are already 60fps, and the background looks better at 24fps than the creepily smooth graphics that Guitar Hero has.
What I want is smooth scrolling lyrics. I barely play the game anymore, and when working on cPlayer I spent SOOO much time trying to make the scrolling lyrics as smooth as I could, understanding that I’m using .NET and not a game engine.
And now I saw that preview trailer and remembered just how badly the lyrics scroll in RB3, not much better than in cPlayer. So I would hope with smoother gameplay that much would improve.
I’m excited to see what they do, since this is probably going to make or break the company. Really glad I stuck with Xbox too, 900 songs out of the gate will be nice.

I’m one of those folks who switched from Xbox 360 to Playstation 4 for this gen. It’s going to be interesting to see whether it’s more cost effective to buy the RB4 instrument package plus an extra guitar for bass or just bite the bullet and get an Xbox One to use the old instruments.
Kool though I might just stick to Rock Band 3. Mostly due to customs… We will have no idea how customs will work until someone figures it out for RB4. So ye’h.
Once the files are ripped I will absolutely be doing RB3 versions of RB4 songs at some point. Most of the community here I’m sure knows where else you can go for such customs since they aren’t allowed here.
Before we outright ban discussions of future piracy, let’s focus on the news of a new game announced today, please. We do what we do in the light of day mainly because of the way we have been conducting ourselves and because nobody who could ever thought of giving us a hard time. However discussions of ripping future content, etc. only undermine our status, so please don’t force us to take action, let’s keep the discussion confined to the game.
Once the files are ripped I will absolutely be doing RB3 versions of RB4 songs at some point. I’ll be buying RB4 for the PS4, making the songs for the 360 to fit in with the rest of my customs. I bought over 2000+ DLC for PS3, and found other methods for 360. HMX has over 3000 dollars of my money. I support them buy buying content, and doing my own method of multi platform exporting so to speak.
I don’t see how exporting from 1 game to abother is “piracy”. Kinda like how we all bought the Beatles Rock Band and used custom export for RB3. I’ll be buying RB4, and doing a custom export to rock band 3. I don’t see how that’s any different. If this is not a place to discuss it id like to know who I can discuss it with because the Beatles thing is pretty much the same in my opinion.

I won’t tell you where the right place to discuss it is, but I will clarify why The Beatles get different treatment:
1) they’re not official C3 content, that’s why they’re not on the DB and they’re only relegated to the Other Customs section, and
2) they were done by me, and are hosted by me, who also happens to host the C3 content. I can make a determination as to what I’m willing to take risks on. You don’t get to make that determination for me
