I actually didn’t know that. I always thought it seemed uncharacteristically technical for a band like that.

Actually, plenty of “modern” (that hit the big time after 2000) acts have interesting drummers and even though non-mainstream listeners wouldn’t give the bands the time of day, the drumming can be entertaining. And this is no exception. The drums score for Move Along is in fact a lot of fun and very well laid out, the problem is that it requires a two handed sticking with left handed down beats and right handed up beats. That works fine with RB pro drums when it’s hi hat and snare, but when it’s toms it’s a mess because snare is fixed on the red/left hand.

I played the song through and I see what you mean, Farottone. I felt like Carter Beauford through that part. I always fail entirely and miserably at open handed playing, but love to watch and hear it being done well!

For those who’d like to learn how to play the song on a kit, this is instructive:

        Farottone,

Thanks a bunch for turning me on to Jammit.com. This is a great little program for learning songs.

Awesome how you can mute out the other instruments to only hear the part you want……

I will definitely be downloading and using this program a lot. Way better then trying to learn songs by ear, which I have done my whole life.

        Thanks again ! <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Rushfan2112, I want to thank you for suggesting Rush! I didn’t think I knew any of their songs, but I found six that I’d heard before and was had a lot of fun playing them all. I attempted Moby Dick, but I only got 96% on my first try. I’ll have to practice that one a bit, but I do like it. Metallica – One is one of my all time favorites. I highly suggest it if you don’t already have it.
