January 4, 2014 at 6:26 am #411601Nope, mainstream withing a genre won’t cut it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> I actually don’t know how mainstream the band is anyway but with mainstream we mean mainstream, not “not THAT alternative inside their genre”. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” /> Currently though we have only mainstream songs on the list, so I don’t see that as a problem.
I understand that totally. They have 750k followers on twitter and the album that the song came from, Sempiternal, peaked at 11 on the Billboard 200 last year so I figured that’d be enough to warrant a mainstream label. Either way, I’m just happy to contribute. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
January 4, 2014 at 6:33 am #411602Well, the only multi-track thing I got is “Pom Poms” by way of PistolizedPearl, and considering that this is supposed to be a huge thing with artists everyone appreciates, the Jonas Brothers are probably gonna be the black sheep here. If the month includes another covers collection (or if we/Farottone decides to do another cover pack in general), I can contribute Huey Lewis and the News’ “Heart and Soul”.
January 4, 2014 at 2:50 pm #411608I’ve actually been finishing up a custom of Can You Feel My Heart by Bring Me the Horizon, I figure they’re big enough to be considered mainstream within their genre. I’d love to be a part of the multitrack pack.Nope, mainstream withing a genre won’t cut it.
BMtH is one of the most well known Deathcore/Metalcore bands out there so I would say it fits (even if most listeners tend to have a love/hate relationship with them)

If we got songs from them through RBN would you have thought “Wow, Bring me the Horizon in RBN? Weird, they’re big acts” or not? Serious question, not implying anything, just explaining the rationale for our “RBN material” decision.
January 4, 2014 at 5:35 pm #411616Regarding the proposed FtV pack. Does it have to be something that’s already been put out as a custom, but not up to C3 standards, or can it be a new GH conversion that hasn’t been done yet?

Well it seems the labels that have a lot of the *Core bands went for RBN (hence the “all RBN is Deathcore” stereotype occurring) and we did get some pretty big names like Steve Vai and Mastodon through RBN, but yeah I did find it to be a big thing when we got Pray for Plagues (even if they took that song down later for some reason).
January 4, 2014 at 5:46 pm #411618Isn’t there an Interpol track from one of the Guitar Hero games that hasn’t been customed yet? I’m thinking it’s Slow Hands. If so, I’ll do that for this.

January 4, 2014 at 5:52 pm #411620I think whoever Bring Me the Horizon is falls under the category of “popular within their own genre” because as far as mainstream goes, I’ve never heard of them before. Not to say they aren’t big or that someone can’t make it for any other week, but I don’t know if it’d work for this compilation.

January 4, 2014 at 5:58 pm #411622Could you list up the multitracks somewhere? I am sure there at least have to be 1 song in there that is big enough for the multitrack pack (and hey, genre variation is always nice)
Yeah of course, I intended to do so once I’ve recouped and checked everything (I discovered that a David Guetta song was a remix, for instance).
I’m sure that I have Kavinsky-Nightcall, Daft Punk-Technologic, Radiohead-Nude and Massive Attack-Teardrop, but I’m afraid some will need work to be RB compatible.
In the meantime, I found out that a very generous fellow on Reddit uploaded some multitracks on https://mega.co.nz/#F!OxpC0CbD!DnEcG2E6MT1HZT0gfFd-Bw (you can found a complete list here http://potzorbie.blogspot.fr/2013/11/multitracks.html)
Mostly GH/RB moggs but some interesting stuff too, easier to pick up if you sort files by size. I call dibs on Muse – Muscle Museum ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
January 4, 2014 at 5:58 pm #411623Oh that’s cool. I’ll figure out another one then.

January 4, 2014 at 6:20 pm #411625I didn’t claim they were unknown or niche, I just made a point that I don’t know how strong of a case can be made for them to fall under mainstream material in the grand scheme of things.
Not that it’s my call; I’m just siding with Farottone here.

I missed this post. Had anyone attempted Born To Run before? I’d try to take that one on. That would be a perfect choice.
